Blake Robert Templeton uses a king managing five roles to argue that winning an internal conflict isn't worth it if the victory weakens your defenses against external threats. A five-year horizon matters more than the immediate battle.
A king in the 5 primal roles processes everything from like a 5-year horizon. If there's an internal battle inside the kingdom, everyone's fighting because of some conflict, misunderstanding, or beliefs that are unaligned. He's looking at, does solving this and winning benefit us in creating an impenetrable barrier from the enemy's attack, or is winning this battle helping the enemy get inside our, our family even more?
