Blake R. Templeton says wives repeat themselves because their husbands aren't leading. When a man is inconsistent, she steps in to manage him instead of nurture him. His fix: take a timeout, own the problem, make a plan. Proverbs 21:5 backs it up.

Okay, so let me remove the camouflage. If your wife's nurturing spirit turns into nagging, she may be trying to call out a king she cannot see. So like sometimes what sounds like her nagging is a corrupted attempt to awaken your leadership. She's just desperately trying to awaken your leadership. She wants to trust you, but your inconsistency keeps triggering her to manage you. So instead of resenting her reminders, call a timeout and see it differently. Calmly take ownership. Be the man, make a plan, and remove the need for her to keep repeating herself. Proverbs 21:5 says, the plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty. Be a man, take ownership, and step up.
