Blake Robert Templeton argues that modern Christianity asks men to be passive and nice, but Jesus taught the opposite. He cites Matthew 11:12 on violent men taking the kingdom by force, saying men must become spiritually dangerous and actively fight darkness instead of cooperating with it.

The natural condition of man is to fall asleep and become a machine. Most men today think Christianity is be nice, stay quiet, avoid conflict, hope life works out, do your best. But the Bible describes something completely different. Jesus said in Matthew 11:12, "The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force." You don't even have to know what all that means, but it's not a passive scenario. And the natural condition of man is to fall asleep and become a machine. Not to be dangerous against darkness, not to rule and reign over it, not to subdue darkness, but to actually cooperate with it, to negotiate with it, to lower the standards and lose biblical masculinity. Men refuse to cooperate with darkness when they actually stand in the blood of Jesus.
