Net worth doesn't matter as much as you think. What matters is portfolio income that covers your expenses. Speaker B argues $200K in annual sustainable income is the real threshold for financial freedom.
Can I ask you a couple questions? Uh, wow, I knew that already. Um, oh, that's good advice. What do you think is like actual freedom? Into like, how much net worth do you need to be actually financially free?
I think net worth is a vanity metric. I think ultimately if you want to be financially free, you need to manage your expenses and you need to generate income. I think income, uh, from your portfolio is what's going to give you freedom, not a net worth number.
How much income?
I mean, I'd say for anybody, I'd say $150,000 to $200,000 a year or a month. A year. Wow, okay.
