Our goal is to demystify alternatives. If you'd asked me 15 years ago what people invest in, and this was when I was in the mortgage business, I would've been like, well, people can buy real estate. I mean, that's about all I knew, right? That was either the stock market or real estate. And I was stuck in this corporate kind of ladder growing, growing as a, as a professional and thought, man, this is, I'm buying into this retirement idea when in actuality I was working 40, 50, 60 hours a week and getting further and further and further away from the people that I loved and cared for the most.
