A YouTube video by Julie Broad (founder of Book Launchers) explaining key benefits of using Draft2Digital for indie authors: wide ebook distribution beyond Kindle, access to library platforms (OverDrive, Hoopla, Bibliotheca), universal book links and author pages, co-author revenue splitting, account sharing, and coupon/affiliate tools. The presenter also contrasts Draft2Digital with KDP and IngramSpark and promotes Book Launchers' services.

Universal book links that never expire, customizable author pages that serve as your digital storefront, and revenue splitting for co authors. Draft 2 Digital is a true partner to an indie author. Do you know all the cool things they have to offer? If you haven't explored Draft 2 Digital very much, you might be really missing out. So this video is for you. Hey there. I'm Julie the Book Broad, founder of Book Launchers, your professional self publishing team. At Book Launchers, we help authors write with coaches or writers and even write writing courses. We have a whole bunch of fabulous professional editors, book designers, and of course marketers who will work with you to get your book into readers hands. In fact, getting your book into readers hands is a big emphasis we have. We are your book promotion team pitching you for podcasts, media live appearances, bookstores, libraries submitting to book awards, catalogs and so much more. And that's one of the reasons why we love Draft 2 Digital because they've made a lot of those things easier. But on the publish side, we also help you get set up for wide distribution, which means we're leveraging the power of platforms like KDP and IngramSpark for print distribution to bookstores and beyond, and of course Amazon and Kindle Distribution. But that doesn't get your ebook beyond kindle. And yes, IngramSpark offers ebook distribution, but really you're better off pretending they don't. It is not good. So I'm going to pretend that's not an option and tell you what we do do for our authors, which is we upload their ebook to Draft 2 Digital. Why Draft 2 Digital? Well, besides the fact that it's a very author focused aggregator that distributes books widely to readers all over the world, one of the number one reasons I shout about Draft 2 Digital from all the rooftops is the access to libraries that you and your book will get from Draft 2 Digital. Check this out. They get you distribution through OverDrive, which is 38,000 libraries, the Hoopla platform, and Bibliotheca, which is another 30,000 libraries. But their platform also has some great ebook distribution in the international space and is a great way to get onto Kobo, which is an important ebook platform for Canadians and other international readers who don't use Kindle. Because yes, my friends, there are readers out there who don't use Kindle. Not in any particular order, but there's lots of other reasons why I'm a fan and why it's our chosen platform for our authors to go wide beyond Kindle, but only focusing on a handful of things that are important to us. No upfront costs. There's distribution and sales and conversion, tracking. And yes, they take a cut of what you sell, but they have earned it with all the things that you're doing because they're only paid when you sell books. They are always seeking the best distribution and promotion options. Whenever you're curious about where they have distribution, just log into your Draft 2 digital platform and you will see all their distribution options. But they also have some great promotional tools like their Book to Books to Read Universal Book links, their Books to Read Author pages, and their Books to Read book tabs. I talk about their universal book links all the time. If you want to see what it looks like when you get it all set up, you can go to this link down below. Bookstoread.com APRDO JGR Juliebrod that's their universal Book link from their Books to Read site and it's free to use. And if you've ever had to fight the bots at KDP or troubleshoot issues with Ingram, you know how hard that is. We've had a lot of flustering issues where Ingram blames KDP and KDP blames Ingram and we can't get a human to talk to us. So it's really refreshing when you contact Draft 2 Digital and get a human who offers real time assistance. So those are some of the reasons why we love them. So you may know all those things already. So I'm going to try and share some things that you don't know now. You can go ahead after you've watched this and tell me in the comments below how I did. And and of course remember, if you comment the day a video is released, you get entered to win some of our noboringbooks swag or copies of our books. And by the way, our swag is brag worthy. From our NoboringBooks mug to T shirts to hoodies to yeti mugs to blankets, we treat our YouTube besties well. So comment, subscribe and come back and you're likely to win. Point 1. Let's see if you know this one. When you have a co author, there isn't a way to distribute payments through KDP or IngramSpark. One of you has to elect to be the publisher and then that person collects the payments and distributes them. The reporting work isn't simple or straightforward with this method, but it's all you've got as an author. If you're going through them before your ebook, or if you did choose to sell your print book through Draft 2 Digital. We personally only use Draft 2 Digital for wide ebook distribution, but if you do with your ebook, you could make it easier by uploading to Draft 2 Digital and letting them do the splitting for you. Why all the platforms don't offer this I don't know, but Draft 2 Digital allows co authors to identify as a co author and provide separate payments and separate tax forms. They do have print distribution, so if you're using them for co author payments, I'd be curious to know how that's going for you. Number two, Draft 2 Digital has account sharing. Technically it's a violation of KDP to give third party account access, which is a ridiculous thing because at some point in almost every author's life they have to give access to someone for help, whether it's upload or fixing something or Amazon ads or something. So they really should create a secure way to allow somebody to have account Access. But with Draft 2 Digital they have account sharing set up for you to give access to your VA or anyone else that is managing your account for you. Number three they have coupon codes. Yes. If you want to run a promotion and track the results of a specific promotion, say when you're on a podcast interview and you want to promote your book and see how many people buy your book versus running a discount for a period of time, you have the ability to create a coupon code through their Smashwords platform or through their Smashwords partnership. You can do it. And look how easy setting up a coupon code is once you're uploaded and onto the Draft 2 digital platform. To be eligible for a Smashwords store coupon, your ebook must be distributed to the smashword store through Draft 2 Digital. And you can't do this when you're on pre order. If you're setting a specific coupon price, the ebook must be priced above the coupon price. Obviously, an ebook priced at $4.99 can be added to a coupon that sets it all 50 down to a price of 299. An ebook that is 299 cannot be included in a coupon that sells it for 3.99. This doesn't make sense. Oh and by the way, they have an affiliate program so if you sign up you can use our link and we can buy some new swag for you. Book launchers.com D2D Their program though is that anytime your friend that signed up using your link sells a book in the first two years you will collect 10% of Draft 2 Digital's cut from your friend's sales. Your friend still receives the royalties that they would normally receive for any sales made. This is coming out of Draft 2 Digital's cut. And of course if your friend doesn't make any money, Draft two Digital and you won't make any money either. So you'll probably want to promote your friend's books. All right, because I want you to sell books and make money there and everywhere. Go ahead and download my audiobook Self promoteandsucceed. Com Audio. It's my gift to you. Let's make indie authors everywhere super successful because then more great programs like Draft 2 Digital's program will pop up everywhere. Now you're well versed in the world of Draft two Digital. Did any of those things surprise you? Let's talk about it below. And now you might be thinking about audiobook distribution and wondering what we do for that. Well, that video walks you through that. And this is the one YouTube thinks you should watch. Are they right.
