Are you writing emails that nobody's opening or writing blog posts that nobody's reading? Stick around. I got a few ideas that just might help you out. Hey there. I'm Julie Broad of havemoreinfluence.com. my first website that I launched, revenue.com I won multiple awards for best real estate investing website. Best voted by readers of a magazine in Canada, voted by blog readers in North America. I think there's kind of three main secrets to writing a blog that engages your readers. The first secret is to know who you're writing for. What are their fears? What are their dreams? What are their obstacles? What do they need to know to move forward, to get what they want? The more you know about the person you're talking to, the person you're writing for, the better you can connect with them. The second thing is to get their attention in the first place. Hey, over here. No, no, me. Yeah. The second thing is to get their attention in the first place. This can be the headline. So the subject line of your email, the headline, the first few lines, whatever it is, it's got to create curiosity or intrigue or seem like it's going to be massively valuable. If they think they've read it before or it's going to be the same old thing, or there's no curiosity, then you're more than likely going to be ignored. Especially these days when there's so much information. I got the most valuable and it's free. This is cool. It's free. The most valuable thing that I've ever seen to help me have better subject lines, better headlines, is a free report that I downloaded. What is it? It's 52 headline. A cheat sheet for writing blog posts that go viral by John Morrow. So if you search John Morrow, you'll see he's been a part of a lot of blogs. I got this particular one from boostblogtraffic.com so you check out that website and you too can download this report for free. Unless he's realized that people would probably pay about $100 for this kind of value and started to charge for it. Because yes, John, I would pay $100 for that eBook. It has so many great headlines and I use it all the time. So get that and more emails will be read, more of your blog posts will get attention. The third thing is now that you know who you're writing for and you have their attention, entertain and educate them. Alright, here's my theory. And I know I'm not alone because I'm pretty sure Frank Kern talks about this too. If you know the information marketer Frank Kern fiction, you're going to write like the stuff that you consume. So if you consume a lot of nonfiction, a lot of textbooks, a lot of reports, then your writing is probably going to sound a little like that even. You'll have your own style, but it's probably going to use big words, it's going to not really relate to the average person, and it's certainly not going to engage and be a page turner, right? You want to read things that are a page turner so that you've got some of that kind of style and method in your own writing. Because let's face it, if you have the choice between reading 500 words that reads like somebody needs a PhD in astrophysics to read it and to write it versus 500 words, that reads like a top 10 paperback fiction and they both teach you something, which one are you going to spend your time on? So once you know that audience and you've got their attention, let's write some awesome stuff that they feel good after they read and they felt like they learned something at the same time. So that's three tips for you in helping you create awesome blog posts that your audience wants to read, share, comment on, and engage with. Cool. Got a question? I'd love to answer it for you. If you got this from a friend, they're not sending it to you for that. They're saying this is what you do already. Way to go, right?
