Congratulations, your book is on Amazon. Maybe you even had a stellar launch, but now book sales have gone a bit stale. What do you do? Well, if you're wondering what you can do to sell more books on Amazon, then this video is for you. Hey there, I'm Julie the Book Broad, founder of the fabulous self publishing services company Book Launchers. The most popular video on this channel is an oldie called five things to do once your book is on Amazon. This is is definitely an update on that oldie, but goodie. So the first thing you need to do to sell more books on Amazon is any guesses? Go ahead, post your guess below. Did you say get more reviews? Give yourself a pat on the back my friend, because you're right. Number one is get more reviews. There's not a hard and fast rule, but we see the tipping point at 25 reviews and then the next one at 50 reviews. And as far as ad performance goes. So if an ad is performing better, you can assume that your overall conversion and ability to sell and leverage your book into other things like media, speaking and more is improving at those markers too. Reviews are the lifeblood of your book. So when someone says I loved your book, respond by saying please do me a favor and help me find other fabulous folks like you to read the book. Can you. Can you please post a review and share who the book is for and how it will help? Or something like that. Number two, Hit up Amazon Author Central and get your profile up to date. I'll share a video at the end that will give you the latest and greatest tips and some examples to model for your page if you'd like. But Amazon Author Central is a place where you can showcase all your books if you have more than one. You can put videos. You can highlight book awards you've won. You can have blog posts and links. You use this page to help you sell more books by making your profile appealing and full of credibility that makes a reader want to read what you've written. Number three, Send traffic to Amazon that converts. This means you shouldn't just check your sales rank from every device you get your hands on. Nor is it a great idea to tell people to check out your book on Amazon. Instead, use a universal link like this one. This allows readers to check out your books and then choose the platform they want to buy your book from. Which means when someone does hit your book on Amazon or hit your book page on Amazon, they're more likely to convert to a sale, which will make Amazon want to show your book to more and More people like that one, thereby helping you sell more books. Number four Check your metadata regularly, which for the purposes of keeping it up to date primarily is your categories and your keywords. A tool like Publisher Rocket will help you with this. You can also use this tool from Nerdy Book Girl, which I'll link below to help you figure out what categories you're showing in and make sure they make sense. Ultimately, Amazon categories are based on bisect categories and keywords and they're different for Kindle, for Audiobook, for print, for Amazon.com versus Amazon CA. So the category list is a bit of a game and you need to make sure you're not losing that game by being played placed in some totally wrong category. Also, you want to make sure your keywords are staying current as well. Over time, the words people search for on Amazon can change, so keeping your 7 keyword boxes inside of your KDP dashboard up to date, as well as keeping your book description fresh with good and relevant keywords is important. Now, when I say keep it up to date, I'm not telling you to change everything all at once, but every three months or so check in and then and make one or two adjustments. Oh, and if you do find yourself in some really wonky categories, email KDP Support and they'll get that sorted for you. Number five Run Promotions to Drive Sales on Amazon. This can be an ebook sale or Amazon ads or both. We like to do both with our authors. We'll run a 5 day 99 cent ebook sale for some books to get a surge in sales and we'll consistently run Amazon ads around these. We actually turn off the ads when we're running a 99 cent ebook sale so we don't throw the metrics off. But ultimately Amazon is a conversion machine. So if you're showing it who will buy your book, they will show the book to other people just like those people to hopefully keep helping you sell books. All right, Those are my five up to date tips for 2022 and beyond. What did I miss after you hit the thumbs up button because it feels so good, let's chat about it in the comments below.
