Don't let your book collect dust on the shelves, whether those shelves are virtual or physical bookstores. You've worked hard to get that book into the world now, so let's make sure it's finding readers. If you're wondering what you can do to get your book sales going again after your book is launched, well, you're in luck. This video is for you. Hey there. I'm Julie the Book Broad, founder of Book Launchers. I'm also the author of four books including this one that you most certainly will want a copy of. Self Promote and Succeed. Head on over to your favorite book buying website or go to self promoteandsucceed.com for our best offer to get the book direct from us. Alright, so your book is out and now you're looking for some ways to spark those sales up again? Well, first, the fundamental of all things book marketing is to look at what your bigger picture goals are and focus on using the book to get you there. That's a lot of what we cover in Self Promote and succeed with the tactics to match your goals. All right, today let's hit on some tried and true tactics to move books. Number one, hold a meetup or some sort of workshop. Create a workshop around the central theme of your book. You can do this in real life or virtual or both. You might land to make this a monthly series. And yes, the first time you host one, you'll probably only have a few people there, but it gives you a chance to iron out the kinks. There was this picture floating around the Internet of Taylor Swift on this boat playing to a small crowd. And it was juxtaposed with her playing the stadiums she fills every time she plays. Now, everyone starts somewhere. You need to build momentum and to do that, start small and grow. There's this weird thing that sometimes comes with an author mindset. They've had success in their business or their life, so they assume their book will be a success immediately. But it takes work and sometimes it takes teaching a class to five people. So the next one can be 10 and the next one can be 30 and before you know it, there's 100 or even a thousand people in front of you, each getting a copy of your book and paying you far more than the cost of a book for your training session. That's Maya. She likes bulk book ideas. She wants to help you sell your books. What else do you have to say, Maya? Oh, good idea. She thinks you should give dog biscuits away. Oh, and toys. She likes stuffies. She likes shredding them. All right, Number two Host a challenge or a contest on social media. Okay besties, let's see your swag. We've given away hundreds of mugs, journals, T shirts, backpacks, hats. Snap a picture, post it on your favorite social media with your favorite tip from self published and succeed. Or Self Promote and succeed and tag us. Oh, and of course you'll get entered to win some new swag. See, it's that easy. Or launch a challenge where people share their favorite picture of your book in the wild. Or a story contest of the best story about the topic of your book. Involve your book as much as you can and it will help boost the buzz. You'll also have fun seeing the adventures your book goes on. The prize can be a one on one call or a piece of special swag or your favorite treat box Get Creative I'm in a group with Anik Segal and he got his Facebook group engaged to share content by saying he was giving away an Apple watch. You don't have to go that wild, but get engagement, get buzz and be willing to reward those who play. Number three Run a promotion for people who buy more than one copy. This is something we encourage you to do to drive launch momentum. But if you've built a bit of an audience or connected with some influencers who'd be willing to give you a shout out, it might be a good time to run a 10 day promotion. Doesn't have to be 10 days. I just picked a number, but where you Give people who buy 3 5, 10 copies of your book VIP access to your monthly workshop or your meetup. Or if you're not doing that, maybe you've got templates or cheat sheets or a database that they can access. We're doing that for Self, Promote and Succeed. For launch week you can visit self promote and succeed.com to see what we've got and and get in on the fun. If it's October 3rd to 17th and if it's not and you still want to buy bulk, well, make us an offer@teamoklaunchers.com and we'll see what we can do. We welcome all offers. Get Creative. It should fit with your book topic and the problems you're solving for your reader and be things so valuable the reader would otherwise pay for them. All right? Idea numero4 reveal content that hit the cutting room floor. Share videos or posts about your book writing process, the research involved, or how you came up with certain ideas. If there's a story that you ended up cutting, you could share it and why. Lessons learned from your journey are also very valuable. The content can go in newsletters, social media, share on interviews, using your outreach when you're reaching out to influencers or event organizers. Which brings me to the next point. Do you love these ideas? Give that like, button a little push and make sure you're subscribed to the channel and have notifications turned on so we can hang out more. And I can share some of the behind the scenes of my latest book with you. One thing I've already shared is that I had a writer finish it for me. I was struggling. 2022 was a bit of a bear of a year for me. Even when I had time, I didn't have energy. So three quarters of the way through I called in help and the book was done in a month. I kind of kicked myself for not doing that sooner, but I have a lot more stories of behind the scenes and I'll be sharing them here and in our newsletter, which you can get@book launchers.com newsletter so join in the fun. All right, number five, back to what I was saying. Do outreach to get exposure for you and your book. I just did a speaking engagement in early 2023 which led me to being brought in to film a course for the and that all started with Self Publish and Succeed hitting their mailbox. It takes years for your book to really get great traction. Keep reaching out to podcasters, event organizers, influencers, and keep showing up and adding value in groups. Sometimes it's the most unexpected things that happen that really get you traction. If you're not working with an organization like Book Launchers, where we pitch you for podcasts, live appearances, media, corporate opportunities, partnerships, and pretty much anything else we can come up with that might be cool for you and your book. So. So if you're not working with us, well, we're cooking up some cool tools to support you in 2024 and beyond. And of course there's self promote and succeed to help, but keep going. Need more on influencers to help with. Seriously? Hey, enough guys, enough. I gotta finish this video later. I just throw in some of the videos. We're done. We're done. This video, you guys can go wild. Hold on. Need more on influencers to help with the outreach. This video right here is where to go next. And if you're feeling good about that, well, this is the one YouTube thinks you really will like. So click on over to the one that you want next and let me know when you get there. That's right. Say hi goofy kids. Okay, Go crazy. Wrestle. Fight wild. Go wild.
