Julie Broad shows five ways authors can use AI to speed up book marketing: generating video scripts, brainstorming social media ideas, drafting blog posts, researching influencers, and finding bookstore lists. She warns that AI output can sound derivative and needs human editing to match an author's actual voice.

It seems like ChatGPT is all everyone's talking about, so I decided to give AI a test drive to see how authors could use it to market a book. I think the resulting ideas are going to surprise and delight you. If you're looking to save a lot of time with your book marketing using AI, well, this video is for you. Hey there. I'm Julie the book Broad, founder of Book Launchers, a professional self publishing services company that helps you write, publish and promote a nonfiction book to grow your brand and your business. We've talked a lot about content marketing here at Book Launchers tv and I know the biggest complaint about that is not knowing what content to create or having the time to create that content. Well, as I was prepping for this video shoot, I decided to leverage the power of AI for a few of my videos to see how well it did. When I was doing that, I realized that you could be using AI in a handful of ways to to save time on your marketing. First things first, if you aren't subscribed to the channel, do that now because I'll be releasing a couple of videos that Jasper, my AI bot of choice at the moment, mostly wrote for me. So if you're curious how that worked out, make sure you're subscribed and have those notifications on for today. Well, here's how AI can help you as an author. Number one, ask your AI bot of choice how it can help you. In my case, I tried to use ChatGPT repeatedly but server was always overloaded. So I went over to my friend Jasper. Jasper has three levels of service. My test is with the boss mode and honestly, I think I'm going to keep Jasper around because, well, Jasper wasn't going to replace my brain work completely. He. Is it a he? Well, obviously it's not, so let me stick to it. Okay, so I'll just call it so. There we go. Okay, now, while Jasper's not going to completely replace my brain work, it did cut some serious time off me staring at a blank page. Because me, how I work. I'm the kind of person who can work from material really quickly, but a blank page can slow me down, like it's a big thick puddle of mud that I have to trudge through. But first I asked Jasper how AI can help an author and to respond in the form of a video script. This is what I got from Jasper. Are you looking for a creative and effective way? Maybe I should say it in a robot voice. Are you looking for a creative and effective way to write.
Is for you.
Okay, you can be Jasper Insert Robot Dave.
Are you looking for a creative and efficient way to write your next work of art? Look no further than AI. By incorporating AI into your writing process, you can get more done in less time and improve the quality of your work. Here's how. Start by researching topics that interest you. Once you have some ideas, use natural language processing algorithms to mine data from the various sources and create content based on your research. Then use machine learning algorithms to automatically generate sentences and paragraphs about the topic at hand. ML models can be trained on past works of literature so they can recognize patterns in language and generate content that sounds natural and flows well. Finally, once you have all the pieces of your story put together, let AI proofreader take a look and with a little bit of tweaking, you should have a polished piece ready to be shared with the world. AI is quickly revolutionizing the world of writing, making it easier than ever before to craft stories worthy of reading. So don't be afraid to give it a try. Who knows where it might take you?
Let's give that Jasper a thumbs up. Now I would be afraid to try what is suggested because it sounds a lot like writing a book that's already been written and just changing some of the words around so it has a different style. Anyone know what that's called? Yes my friends, that's plagiarism. Or it's at least going to be boring because you're saying something that everyone already has said and not telling your own story that will bring the material to life. That that means you're going to have a boring book and we're all about no boringbooks here. But hey, if you're wondering what AI can do for you, go ahead and ask it. Number two. But where I did find a ton of value was in asking it for ideas. Check this out. When I asked Jasper to create A list of 20 video titles for writing a nonfiction book, I got a pretty cool list. You just might see some of those topics appearing here on the channel. Number three, Ask AI to write the script or the blog post for a topic that it gave you the idea for in previous one. After getting the list I thought, well, maybe Jasper will create that content for me. I asked for a video script for that topic. You can see here what I got, not what I would say on the channel and it's pretty light on the explanations and details and examples. But I'm going to take this script and massage it to see how useful this is. I'll let you know in that video, whether the script helped me at all or not. Idea four, get ideas to market a book. I didn't tell Jasper anything more specific than give me 10 ideas to market a book, but you could get a lot more specific and say, give me 10 ideas to market a book about smelly feet or printing money or running a marathon and see if the ideas are dramatically different for your genre and subject of a book. But this was a pretty solid list of things to do. Number one, utilize your social media presence. Number two, connect with other authors in the same genre and cross promote each other's work. Three, utilize influencers. Number four, write reviews on websites such as Goodreads and Amazon. Five, work with bloggers. Six, yes, create a website. Seven, submit press releases about your book launch in local news outlets. Eight, develop relationships with bookstores and libraries. Nine, organize giveaways to attract new readers onto your platform. And 10, use online tools such as BookBub or Amazon advertising services to increase visibility amongst potential buyers. I mean, it's almost like Jasper's been watching book launchers TV.
I am. I want to be a book launchers YouTube bestie.
All right, number five, ask your AI to do the research on influencers for you. Since suggestion number three was to utilize influencers to get the word out about your book, well, I thought, well, Jasper, who would that be? So I asked Jasper the clumsily worded identify 20 social media influencers who would promote a book about writing a book. Well, this is the list Jasper gave me. I mean, this is a fabulous list. And if I got any one of these influencers to talk about self publish and succeed and promote it to their audience, I think I'd be seeing some pretty sweet results. Now, I actually didn't know a few of the names on this list like Maria Popova, so I went to Twitter to see who she was. She does promote books and she is a fan of writing. I, I don't think her artistic style was going to vibe with my book, but who knows? Friendships and relationships can appear in the most interesting of places. I'll follow her and I'll pop in from time to time to see if there's any synergies. For the most part though, this list was not that useful to me. I mean, Dan Brown, is he going to be interested in what I have to say in my book or share it with his audience? Doesn't seem realistic.
I'm not sure how much help I'm.
Going to be here, but it was cool to see what you could do and it made me think Hmm. I wonder if Jasper can get me started on a bookstore list should I want to do a local bookstore tour? Well that was interesting because I asked for addresses and store managers of bookstores. I bet you're starting to see how this could be a big time savings in your book marketing research. This is a great list. And while this round of lists did not give me contact information, a whole lot of time that would have been spent on Google was saved. Let's give a thumbs up to saving time because that's pretty awesome. Now, have you used AI for your book marketing efforts? Let's chat about it in the comments below.
