7 years ago I launched Book Launchers and today we're celebrating with seven facts you probably don't know about Book Launchers. And if you're new here, well, you definitely don't know. So say hello in the comments below and always say hello because we always have special prizes we give away at our livestream. And this year, as always, we have special seven year anniversary swag. Past years I've had blankets, backpacks, journals, mugs. Of course, if you're new here. Well, even if you're not, let me take a moment to introduce us and share our seven fun facts. Fact 1 the Great Migration Seven years ago, with a brand new baby, my husband and I got our visa to move from the US To Canada and we said goodbye to the Great White North. It's Canada, eh? And headed to the land of palm trees and Hollywood dreams, Los Angeles. Why? Well, in part to launch Book Launchers, but also because my husband had been working as an actor and LA seemed like a great place to be for an actor. Well, while I'd never been in book publishing formally, I'd written and published two books, one that had significant success as it topped Amazon in print books. But I wasn't going to be working on the books, at least not directly. My first task when I arrived in LA was to hire a team of brilliant minds who had been very successfully helping authors write, publish and market books. And together we forged ahead and got to work with our first 10 beta clients. These 10 people knew me from my previous business, which was a real estate training and education company. And it was in fact that year we brought on many clients and some of them are still with us today. Which leads me to Fun Fact 2 book launchers is different in a few ways. We are marketing focused from the beginning because as long as you work with us, we will market your book to find your reader, grow your business and your brand. We pitch you for podcasts, live appearances, media, we run ads, we do bookstore and library outreach. We submit you to book awards and provide strategic guidance so you can leverage your book. And with that, we don't have packages. We're set up as a monthly membership, which means you don't ever have to leave if you don't want to. And some of our authors have taken us up on that. Some of our original authors I want to give a shout out to today. Jill Phillips, Scott Bradley, Eric Brotman, Carol Sanford. You've been with us since the beginning or close to the beginning, and we're still going strong. Talk about a long term relationship all right, Fact three Book Baby Boom. In seven years, we've helped birth hundreds and hundreds of books. That's right, we're basically a book nursery. From self help to business to memoirs, we've worked with just under 600 authors in that time. And people always ask me, who are our most successful authors? And I actually never have an answer because there are so many people that have accomplished amazing things. Robert Bell got a TED Global Ideas Talk after promoting his book Blow the Lid Off. Sean Hayes launched a successful speaking career after getting out of prison and writing his book the Great Choice. Laria Martinez wrote me recently saying she's been over the moon because her book had been ordered for widespread distribution at Barnes and Noble. Linda Magoon has become a library favorite, getting booked over and over to speak at libraries. And as far as who we've worked with, we've worked with people like Mark Magna, former NFL and CFL player, William Hung of American Idol, Rob Berger, personal finance influencer, and so many more. Fact 45 years into running book launchers with 14 full time people on the team, I hit immigration issues and couldn't contact my team for almost three months out of abundance of caution. Our lawyer advised us to keep the situation confidential until it was resolved. Most business owners can't imagine being away for a week, but I had to leave the company in the hands of my team for over three months. I couldn't talk to clients or work with my team. Do you want to know how you know you have an amazing team and a process that works? You can leave your company unattended without communicating with them for over three months and still have a business to return to. But man, that was absolutely the hardest year of my life. We faced family deaths, legal issues, separation from loved ones due to border issues, the immigration issue. As hard as it was, that year was also amazing for me because my perspective on problems is totally different and many days I feel completely indestructible because of what I went through. And I always tell authors the darkest times can become the greatest material for future books. Plus, it gives you the perspective that allows you to share a book that AI can't write, which is more important than ever today. Fact 5 My first hire Still Works with us, but not in House Jaclyn Kyle was my first hire in June of 2017. She started in July to help me work on our first 10 beta clients, which we started work on in August of 2017. For almost six years she worked by my side doing darn near every role in the company before a book hit marketing and she built an entire process around what we do. It's so robust we created a client portal to allow clients to see what is happening with their project. Last year she left Book Launchers but not to go to another company. She started her own company helping others automate their processes and we were her first client. She works with us still today and it's been great to have her helping us with vital projects and process updates. Fact number 6 AI has changed things and we adopted it early and will continue to leverage it in a lot of ways and teach you how to leverage it. We love AI which is artificial intelligence for those not familiar because sometimes people ask and we're using it for ideation. Book Title Brainstorms a leg up on research, book outlines, reader research, drafting copy for the books, material to sell the books, marketing material and we've been working on a pretty awesome AI based project we'll be launching before the end of 2024. I can't wait for you to see this. It will be something we offer everyone, not just our clients. So make sure you've subscribed to the channel and turned notifications on so you find out about it first. Fact 7 the secret ingredient do you want to know the real reason we've made it to seven years? It's you. Our amazing YouTube viewers, our awesome authors, all the readers, and of course my incredible team. We would not be here if not for you, your stories, your passion and your support. We're not just helping you write books, you're helping us write our story. And I couldn't be happier about the impact you are having and that we are playing a part in helping you have books change lives. I've said this many times, but but Rich dad, poor dad, Reading that book changed my life. I was on one path and thanks to that book I put myself on a slightly different path. And that path led me to writing my first book, which was the next book that completely changed my life. And through this I've become passionate about helping you change lives with your book, your reader's life, and your own. Your book is an amazing tool to grow a brand and a business, make an impact and of course boost your income. And and with that in mind, our next year has some awesome announcements and additions to help you.
