How to Get More Book Reviews Without Breaking Amazon’s Rules

A YouTube video by Julie Broad (founder of Book Launchers) describing and demoing a review-platform called Get Authentic Book Reviews that helps nonfiction authors gain more Amazon reviews without paying reviewers. Julie explains participation requirements (must be an author with an English ebook listed on Amazon), the points-based system (review others to earn points to request reviews), timing (typically five days to read/write a review, longer for big books), current free signup (planned fee in 2025), and shares her early test results — multiple largely positive Amazon reviews on her book within two weeks. She also lists required submission materials and emphasizes that reviewers are not financially compensated.

If you're an author and your name isn't James Clear or David Goggins, you need more reviews for your book. It's always a challenge. And I'm always on the lookout for cool new ways for you to get more book reviews without violating any rules with Amazon. Today, I have a cool way for you to get more book reviews. So if you want the details on that and more book reviews, this video is for you. Hey there. I'm Julie the Book Broad, founder of Book Launchers, where we help nonfiction authors write, publish, and promote a nonfiction book to grow their brand and their business. One thing we are constantly doing for our clients is trying to get them more reviews. And thankfully, a lot of great companies reach out to us with their services, so we get to test things out. And one such service is Get Authentic Book Reviews. All right, so here's a few details on Get Authentic Book Reviews. To participate in the program, you must be an author. You must have an ebook that is currently for purchase on Amazon, and the number of ebooks you can include in the program, well, that doesn't matter. It's unlimited. But members without a book will not be allowed. And right now, your country of residence doesn't matter either, as long as your book is in English. So some of the other details, like how much does this cost? Well, there's no cost per review or financial compensation for the reviewers now or in the future. This is important because it reaffirms the platform's commitment to to integrity and ensures that reviews are based on genuine feedback, not monetary gain. Only the books that authors request to be reviewed will be visible at the authentic library as the reviewer. You can only pick one ebook to read at a time. So essentially this is a review exchange, but you're not exchanging one for one. So you sign up and you review somebody else's book. You get points and then you can then say, hey, other people, here's my book. Are you interested in reading it and getting a review or and posting a review? And then they will do it then. Generally you have five days to read and provide your review, and vice versa. People who read and provide reviews of your book will have five days as well. Now, if you have a big book, there's more days allowed. And if you have a small book, well, I think they still give you five days. But you know, that is something that does change a little bit. And you can always email and request more if you need more time. Right now, you can sign up for free. She is going to start charging in 2025, which she should, because she has costs involved in building and maintaining this community. But this is not pay a fee, kick back and watch the reviews come in kind of service. This is a participation required service. To get reviews, you have to give reviews. It's not a review exchange, again, which would be a violation of service for Amazon, but it's a place where you are rewarded for reviewing other books by being able to get reviews for your books. So to make this work, you have to be willing to read a book and write a review and get points so that you can then submit your book to get reviewed. But I know the question you really want to know the answer to is, does it work? Well, I created my account a couple of weeks ago and was approved to get reviews about 10 days ago. Let's log in and see what's happened. Okay. And now for my sheepish confession. Flavia, the creator, didn't require that I review other people's books to get points so I could test it. She just gave me points as though I had already done reviews. It's a good thing, or it would have taken forever before I could have tested this and told you how it's gone. But I will try to go in and review some books over the holidays just to be fair. But the reality is the results are a little skewed by the fact that I didn't have to work to get points to be reviewed. So I think I got more reviews in a shorter period of time than you would because you have to review books to get your book reviewed first. So with that caveat in mind, here are the results and well, spoiler alert. I'm impressed. In just under two weeks, this is what I've got. And even since I shot this screen share for you, I have one more review added to it since then. So it's been reviewed four times. They're looking for seven more readers and currently two people are reading. So like I said, I had one more review come in after I shot the the screen share of this for you. So now there's five readers, or, sorry, five reviews there and one is reading. All of these ones are on Amazon now because you can click here and see the Amazon reviews. So I love that I'm able to see them right on Amazon. I just copy and paste this link over to Amazon and I can see them and three out of four are five star and even the one that's four star is a very positive review. So overall, this is a three thrilling result for this service and I'm very excited now, the intention of this program is that people are buying the book on Amazon, and so ideally, you're lowering the price when you have it requested for reviews, so people aren't paying full price. Again, it's free to join right now, so I would rush on over while it's free. And even when there is a fee, I suspect it's not going to be something that's arduous because I think Flavia is really invested in creating a really robust community of reviewers. But of course, come on back here and check because if there is a fee, we'll try and get you the best deal and give you a link to do that. So when you sign up, you do need book files and a few details. So just to prep you, you need your book title, subtitle, of course, author's name, your ebook pricing in the US the Amazon ebook link, a book cover, and your cover image should be a JPEG or a PNG file, and it should not be more than five megabytes in size. And then you also have to let them know the number of pages. But it's easy. And if you have any trouble, just email Flavia at the top of the page. You'll see her email address and she'll help you out as quickly as possible. All right, so it's still early days, but I'm pretty darn impressed with the results. So check it out and let me know how it goes for you. Getauthenticbookreviews.com now, what other services can you use for book reviews? Well, this video right here will help you out with that. And if you want to revive a book that isn't selling right now, well, this video is the one for that. Both are going to be great. So grab a coffee and I'll see you there.
