Post-Launch Book Marketing Activities - BINGO Style | Live Replay

Live replay of a Julie Broad session (YouTube, Aug 11, 2021) presenting a “book launchers” post‑launch marketing bingo card. Julie walks through selected bingo items and gives tactical advice for each — examples include hosting virtual or live launch parties, posting blog series, creating a unique hashtag, pursuing podcast interviews, running ads to capture email subscribers, republishing excerpts on other platforms, hosting library events, gaining social followers, speaking engagements, and soliciting Amazon reviews. The tone is practical, conversational, and informal; the session includes prize draws for commenters.

All right. Hello, hello, hello. It is great to be back with a new live and I'm going to do something a little different. And I can see, you can see some of my lighting, lighting hanging out over there from video shoots. But today, for the first live back since June, we are going to do something a little different today. So what we have here is, is a black and white version of a rather colorful bingo card that gets sent out to our clients when they hit pre launch and post launch marketing as a little fun way to get them to try to do a little bit more to sell their books. And so what I thought today, we don't really have time to go through all of these items, but I thought that we could just, you guys could give me some letters and numbers as though you were the bingo hall caller. And, and we will, and then we will go to that one and we will talk about whatever item that is on the bingo card. And once we hit bingo, the lucky person who causes bingo to happen will of course be today's prize winner along with the usual commenters from Tuesday and Friday. So if you're watching this in the replay, you can say replay and still comment and get entered to win for the next time we go live. Hey, Brian, great to see you. Poetry from the heart. Hello and welcome. Angela is not here today, so we will have a bit of a participation prize. But I'm going to keep this simple because Angela is moving and is not able to join us and help keep me organized today. So we'll keep it simple. All right, so first thing first, we need you. Now, hopefully you guys all know how to play bingo. We want to pick a number first. A letter and then a number. And, and assuming we get. Hey, Efren. So assuming we get the number that corresponds with one of these letters, then we will talk about that one. So first you gotta pick a letter, then you gotta pick a number between 1 and 25. So go for it, my friends. Pick a number, a letter and a number and we will talk about that particular thing. And while you're doing that, I'm actually going to enter. I just realized that I did not enter the names into. I have the names ready, but I didn't enter them into the random name picker. So I'm a little rusty. It's been a few, it's, it's been a few weeks since we all hung out doing this. So while you guys are picking a letter and a number for the bingo game, I'm just going to go ahead and put my Tuesday Friday commenters into the random name picker. So that. That's all ready to go for you. There we go. Ta da. That is done. So now let me just see here. What have we got? So I can't show you the bingo card. I have to correspond to this, but I will let you know. So where are you guys? I've lost you. There you are. Okay, we've got an E6 and an A7. Let me see if we've got any of those. You guys got to throw lots of these out, right? Because you know how bingo works. There isn't. It's 25 numbers spread across the bingo card. So let's see if we have an E6. Wait a minute. E6. Bingo. Do you know how to spell bingo? Did I read that right? Let me try that again. E6. So, Efren, let me just. Let's start by. This is how you spell bingo, my friend. B I, N, G, O. So this is the column, and then inside of here we have numbers. So it would be a letter of B I n, G, O first. Got it. All right, so poetry from the heart says a seven. Wait a minute. A seven. You guys are tripping. You guys are throwing me off here. Hey, Christopher Mattish, great to have you here. Maybe my bingo idea has not worked so well. Okay, folks, just pick a letter that is bi n or g o and then a number between 1 and 25. Oh, dear me, dear me. Okay, so welcome back. We're a little rusty here. Thank you, Brian. I5. Let's see if we've got an i5. No, i5. No i5. I mean, I did do it between the numbers of 1 and 25. I think sometimes they do it between 1 and 100. I kept it simple. It's between 1 and 25. So we'll roll with that. Let's see what we've got next now that you guys are hopefully catching on to this game. B20. Okay, we got. Let's see if we got a B20. Yes, we've got a B20. Okay, so that one is throw a virtual or live launch party. So this again, for those of you just joining in right now, we're doing the book launchers bingo card. I'm not going to go through every item on the bingo card, although probably at some point, every one of these is going to become a single YouTube video. So in my brilliant but brilliant mind, but maybe not as brilliantly executed in this moment, I thought we would play a little bingo. So the first one is throw a virtual or Live launch party. Okay, so let's talk about virtual or live launch parties. So these days, probably better to do your virtual party, but live launch parties are super fun too. And so my recommendation for, for a live launch party is to do it. Either I would do it, I would actually do it at a couple locations because, I mean, doesn't matter, you can have multiple launch parties. So my personal favorites are to do a launch event at a library. Your local library. They almost always will buy a copy, if not two copies of your book to then list in their library. They love having author events and they love supporting. They don't charge authors for venue space. And you can have a lot of fun with it and invite your local community, your local friends, your local family. So that's one place that I love to host launch events. Wouldn't necessarily call it a party, but you can also sell books. I mean, most libraries are totally fine with you having books at the back of the room after you do a reading or a little talk or some sort of a presentation, even a workshop. And then you can sell books at the back of the room. I've done many of these and they, I mean they're not super well attended. I think my best one was attended by 20 people and I was related to five of them. But everybody in the room bought a copy of my book and the library bought two copies of my book and they had posters up all week about the event. So it can be a lot of fun and get you exposure. And, and so that's one that I recommend. Now logistically, the library, I think I like libraries because they're quite simple to set up. They usually posters for you. If they don't, then, you know, get, get one made on fiverr for a low cost. It's not, it's not that expensive to get posters made on fiverr.f I v e-r r.com and then, and then you just really have to think about what you're going to do for 15, 20 minutes. And the library will usually coach you on this because they have somebody who does a community and events and they'll be like, oh, workshops work really well. Book readings work really well. Q and A. And so you just, I would talk to your local library and, or even look at what events they've had in the past and see if you can do something there. And then the other kind of event I like is almost like a dual virtual in real life kind of party. And I did this pre Covid and I've talked about this on some of my videos. But I did this at my CrossFit gym because I was a very, very regular CrossFit goer, and I knew everybody at the CrossFit gym quite well, especially the owner, and so she allowed me to use the space. Some people came out live, bought copies of the book. I did, but I also streamed it. And for anybody who bought a copy of my book, so they bought it physically in person, or they would email the receipt in during the event. I did burpees. We called it burpees for books. And then some of that money was donated. Again, I kept it logistically very simple. We've seen some people go all out, send formal invitations, have 100 people at their event with cocktails, appetizers. I mean, my recommendation is to do what works for you. I'm not a complicated kind of person. I don't like complexity, so I like to do the things that are simple and fun. And so that's the kind of events that I do. Virtual. We have a great video on doing virtual events. And if Angela were here, she would drop it there. But I'm going to write it down and I'll put it in the description after. Okay, so that you've got that. So there you go. That's that one. So hopefully those of you joining in have started to clue in. We're playing bingo, and we need you to pick a letter B, I, N or G or O and a number between 1 and 25, because I didn't go above 25 for this. And we're going to try and get a bingo line here. Okay, so virtual event video. I'm writing this down because without Angela, I will forget. Let her know that next time in two weeks, you can let her know how much she was missed. Okay, so that was Brian. Let's see here. Efren, do we have a B20? B20 going once? Okay. Or maybe that was B20. Do we do B20? No. Okay, we're good. Next. We don't have a B20. I'm afraid we do. However, let's see. I just saw one that I know we have. Next up, we have B7 and I10. Let me look at those. Let me look at those. I10. No. I10. Okay. Whoops. Clicked. This was a little bit more complicated than I thought. Okay, hopefully you guys are up for a little fun today. B7. Did I check B7 yet? Hopefully. And then the next one is N10. Okay, see what we've got. 10. B10. I7. Nope, nope. Okay, we will. We will get this I promise. Okay, I10. Next up, we've got an N10. N10. Go in once, go in twice. No, we don't have an N10 either. Okay, we might have to start cheating. Speaking of simple, right? This is why you keep things simple. Because when you try to get too creative and complex, it can get difficult. Okay, we've got ag. G4. G4, yes. G4. G4. Okay, so post a blog for three consecutive weeks. So again, what we're doing is a bingo card that we have for our client clients. And what it is, is really encouraging our clients to try and do something every day, if not two, some things every day, post launch, to continue to gain momentum for their book. And so the one that we did already was throw a virtual or a live launch party. You could do that pre launch, too. It doesn't have to be post launch. This one is post a blog for three consecutive weeks. If I had my way, that would actually be 12. But we're going for baby steps here. Some people have never posted a blog once. So posting for three weeks in a row. Great. So why do we recommend a blog post? Well, personally, this does depend on your website and what you do. We have a lot of clients who posting a blog post wouldn't give as much value as posting a post on LinkedIn. But if you're doing one for LinkedIn, I would also put it on your website and your blog so that you're getting search engine traffic there as well as all those views on LinkedIn. You want to have content out there. That's the main goal of this. When your book is out, people are going to go to your website and they're going to want to know what kind of material you put out there. This is not so much for the readers of your book, but rather for event organizers, for podcasters, for media that is interested in interviewing you or having you write a piece. So that's where the value of this blog post is. Now, here's a little hint. You've written a book. Yes. You have a ton of content from your book. Just pull it from your book and you can just massage it a little bit so it becomes your blog post. So you don't have to write something from scratch, which is why I think you could actually do this for 12 weeks in a row. Right. There you go. All right, so heading on over, we need some more letters. That was G4. I wrote it down this time so I wouldn't lose my place. B5. Do we have B5 already? I feel like we did no, we didn't. All right, good. Thank you. We've got a new one. Let's go look at our little list over here. B5. B5. Oops. Oh, there it is. I thought I lost my bingo card. That would have been bad. There isn't a B5, but if you add one to that, there is a B. Well, I won't say it because I don't want to give you guys the answers, but there you go. Okay, so there we go. Next up after B5 was I5. I feel like we did that one too, but. All right, let me just go check my card again. I5. We're going to do two at once here. Mindful eats. I just joined. No idea what I'm doing. That makes two of us. Okay, we're playing dingo. We're playing dingo. And I'm going to be teaching you whatever we get there until we hit a bingo line. I thought it was a great idea. I'm learning. We were trying to have fun. Okay, so we were at B5. I5. G8. G5. Okay, let's see what we've got. I5. No. G8. Nope. Okay, G Kit. If we're not 5 or 85, we don't play bingo. Yeah, I know. I didn't think of that again. I thought it was a brilliant idea. Okay, B20. B7. Let's look what we've got. B20. B7. B20. B7. Okay. No, we're still going. We're still going. We're going to get one. I know it. Hey, Molly, Great to have you back. Tracy, hello. It's great to have you. G3. Caitlin, you made a live. It's a chaotic one. Hope you have fun with it. Okay, so G5. G4. And I think we had B5 already. I checked that one. There we go. G5. G4. G8. Okay, here we go. One of these has to be it. I think we had G4 already. That was. That was. Right. Okay, there we go. No, got to go a little higher on the GS. The GS are a little higher. Oops. Didn't mean to open that. All right, back to you guys. My friends, we have N15. I think that's a winner. And B6. I know that's a winner. Okay, we're going to do two at once. So we got our B6, which I know is a winner. And right above it, we had N15, which I think was potentially one. Was it N15? Hooray. Okay, there we go. Now we got two. So we're going to do both of these at once and then we'll draw for our Tuesday Friday video. All right, so we're talking post launch marketing activities, bingo style. This is a fun thing we do for our clients. I think it's probably more fun for the clients than doing this live. Seemed like a great idea. Okay, B6 create and use a unique hashtag for your book on social media posts. You guys gave me mine, which was noboringbooks. I don't know if it was Mike Herd. I think he uses it the most. I don't know if you're here, Mike, but that's my hashtag. We use it on social media for basically anything related to self publish and succeed. So create a unique hashtag and then encourage folks to use that because then you can see who is supporting your book by following those hashtags. I also recommend you look into appropriate hashtags for your subject matter, for your industry and for those of you who are clients because there's quite a few of you on here. We're going to be talking hashtags a lot on our social media training that we're doing tomorrow. The ever so brilliant Ashley, who is our copywriter and Nicole, who is our book launch coordinator are going to be on the call with me tomorrow. They spend a lot more time deep in the depths of social media, so that's going to be a really good one for clients. But for the rest of us, we're talking hashtags. Find a unique one for your book and then use the ones that are already being used in your industry in your space. Check out some of the folks that you compete with in the author space. Check out some influencers in the space and see what hashtags they're using. Doesn't hurt to use the same ones. Okay. N15 was be interviewed on a podcast. Now we've talked a lot about this here. I recommend getting interviewed on many podcasts. However, podcasts rarely lead directly to book sales. Maybe a couple. But what the podcast has to offer in terms of value is this. If you are on a podcast, you want to have your call to action be to go to a lead magnet to join your community. So at the end of most of my podcast interviews, I will typically say, hey. They say, okay Julie, where can people find out more about you? Or where can they connect with you? I typically say depending on the content of the podcast, I'll say, hey, if you want to get the seven steps to write and publish a book that will sell, head on over to book launchers.com number seven steps. And you can download that guide. And that will also get you all the information about book launchers as well as a connection to me. So that's usually what I say. I'm driving people to download something, connect with me, get on my email newsletter list so we can build a relationship and eventually, hopefully sell a book, maybe connect with somebody cool who wants help to write a book. So that book launchers continues to attract clients as well as people who buy my books. So that's what the value of a podcast interview is, number one. Number two is links. So as you are building your website, building your audience, the more places that link back to you, the better. So podcast interviews are a tremendous source of links. All right, friends, so we're going for a bingo. We're going to do this until we get a bingo line. Now that we know how to play bingo, even though we're not 85. I played a lot of bingo, but I was on a swim team and it was always the fundraiser. We had to man the bingo tables at the. At this place for our fundraisers. So. So I'm very familiar with bingo. I also used to go with my grandma. All right, so, but before we do that, I do want to draw our first name for the Tuesday Friday. So for those of you who haven't been here in a while, just a friendly reminder that when you comment the day a video is released, you get entered to win some sweet book launchers swag. And I actually was drinking from my book Launchers mug this morning, but I've put it in the dishwasher. But it's a hashtag noboringbooks mug. Of course, if you don't already have a copy of my book Self publish and succeed, we could send you that. Or we can send you our oh so soft journal. So our first video commenter prize of the day is go into Steven Searle. I don't know how much of our swag you've already won, but if there's something you don't have, email Angela. It's not team anymore. Somebody else's man in the team email. So you're going to have to email Angela@AngelaokLaunchers.com I'm not going to type that up, but it's a N G E L a book launchers dot com. I don't want other people not listening, not getting her email address. So. Okay, so free space. Yeah. Christopher Mattish. Thank you. We've got the free space. People will circle that one. There's nothing There to add in terms of content, but. Okay, here we go. So B6. We got that one. I might have to give you guys some more hints, but we're gonna do this. I know it. Okay, so let's just check. We've got an N3 from Mike Wade and an I2 from Jean De. Hopefully I said that right. Or Jean De. Depending on how you want to pronounce this. Okay, where are we? Oh, let's see. I2 and N3. Got it. I2. I2. I2. Nope. N3. Oh, it does get us closer to a line too. Okay, this is awesome. And that was i3. Okay. So just don't want to lose my place in your guys' oops. Oh, that was right. Okay, I thought I mixed it up. Okay, here we go. So this one was place a Facebook ad to gain email subscribers. Okay. So we're getting closer to an end line. We should maybe really hammer the ends. Okay, so this is place a Facebook ad to gain email subscribers. So that is in place a Facebook ad to sell books in some spaces that there's. There are a lot of people in the fiction space, or there should say a lot. There are some people in the fiction space that seem to be able to promote a. The start of a series and have it generate great results for selling books. I have not been able to have a profitable result on Facebook. Now, that doesn't mean there's no value in it. But for me, running ads to sell books on Facebook, the ads cost far more than I make per copy on my book. Now, that said, we have been running ads on YouTube, which is Google, for my book. And there's a video sales letter that we've been testing. And if you don't know what a video sales letter is, it's essentially just a PowerPoint screen and I can potentially link to it. I'm going to do a video on this later once we have enough data and I have enough things to talk about. But that video sales letter, which I thought was a silly. Not a silly idea, but I was like, who's going to buy a book from a video sales letter? It's been doing really well. So what we do there is we run ads through Google, through YouTube and promote the video sales letter, and people buy my book, which we have set up through Lulu so that we can track conversions. More on that another day. I know I just dropped a lot there. But that has been converting and has been moderately profitable. Like, we're not making a lot per book. But the cool part of that is we get all the contact information so we can follow up and say, hey, you bought my book a month ago. What did you think? Do you want to write a review, et cetera? So it's pretty cool. I'm very happy with how that's been going. And after we have a little bit more data, because we've had the ads turned off for a little bit for a tracking, tracking repair. Once we have a little bit more data, I'm going to share that. So Facebook ads we run to an email newsletter. So you're going to promote an opt in. You can keep the cost lower, you're going to get that email subscription, and then you can have that invitation to buy your book right after they opt into your book, which is something. And this is complicated for those of you who don't set this kind of stuff up. I know. But on. One of the things that has provided performed well for us is on our thank you page having an offer to buy the book on the thank you page after somebody opts in to get, you know, the seven steps or the ghostwriter. So that's something else we've been testing that's had pretty good results. I can't speak to the overall ROI of it, but again, if you're building an email newsletter list, you're building that community, you're building that group of folks who can buy your book, buy your services, you know, really build that relationship to sell products, courses, even invitations to speak can come from your email newsletter list. And of course, if you feel like writing a book again in the future, you've got that. So the nuances of running those Facebook ads, I'm not going to get into today. We will be, I think, shooting a video for every one of these things on the bingo card. All right, so we've been playing hard over here. I got to catch up, I think. Where were we? We were at N3. So let me go back up to where N3 3 was. And we looked at I2. We've. We've marked off the free space. So. Mojo. Hey, great to see you. We've got a B13 in the house. Let's see if we've got a B13. Afraid not. Okay, we've got a G21. Let's see what we can do with a G21. No, but if you turn that two into a different number, we would be talking. Okay, back over here. So We've got an O3. Let's see. Do we have an O3? Oh, three. Let me go back to my numbers here. Oh, three. Nope. No. Oh, three. Okay, I 25. I think I saw that. I think I saw that. Yes. We've got an i25 my friends. Fourth one down. Oh, now we could be going for the diagonal play. So for those of you who don't play bingo, you want a line or of course a diagonal would work too. So we now have under our i25. I better write that down because I don't have the numbers on this. Publish an excerpt of your book on someone else's platform. So I. I'm in the process of doing this right now with self publish and succeed. I was asked to write an article for Ally, the Alliance of Independent Authors and it was on Bye Bye Book Deals. So I took an excerpt from my book and they were going to publish it but they turned it back to me and said we need some more actionable tips in that so I have to rework it. That said, I have posted excerpts of my book for a couple of other places. It is great. I never give them the exact excerpt. There's always something that I massage. I use either write a slight intro or I write a little bit more at the end or I take something out of the middle so that it meets their word count. In Ally's case, I'm going to add some actionable tips because apparently there wasn't enough of like a how to I guess do it yourself without using a traditional publisher in there. So I'm going to be adding some. So it won't be a straight excerpt, but this is a tremendous way to promote your book. Get a link back to your site and get often a link to your book. And this can lead to book sales if the audience for that, whatever group that is, is large and interested in a good fit for your book topic. So it's pretty cool. So I highly recommend you pursue that. And there's lots of ways to do it, but a lot of sites will actually tell you at the bottom, you know they have a guest, a guest blogger or guest poster. Poster, A guest, I think it's usually guest blogger but or guest article. They have a link and then you can submit a query or a proposal or sometimes even just straight up send them an article or an excerpt from your book for that. Some sites will want to then be the copyright owner. And so if you do take an excerpt from your book, you may want to make it clear that they're the only place that is going to have it online, but it is from your book so they can't reuse it anywhere else. That's. That's one way to. Because their concern is that you. They don't want you to have duplicate content around the web. But if their site is the only site where you're posting that particular excerpt, then you can usually say, you know, you have. You'll be the exclusive for this online. However, it's an excerpt from my book, so I retain, you know, the copyrights, and you can't republish it anywhere else. Okay. Hopefully that made sense. All right, so see here. Where were we? We were at I25. We're getting closer to a bingo. Okay. Somebody says, feel better. So somebody's not feeling well, because I feel good. Maybe a little scattered, maybe regretting this bingo idea a little bit, but I'm owning it. We're gonna rock it. Okay, so where do we go? I've lost my i25. Okay, there we are. N. We have a G17 and a G20. Okay, let's see what we've got. G. There's a G17. We can do this. Okay. It doesn't help us with our lines, but. And we already kind of talked about this one, actually, so that'll be a fast one. So G17 takes actually. Well, it creates a new line down here at the bottom. Do an author event at your local library. So I believe we've already covered that. I'm going to check that one off and move on to the next one. So that was G17. I've lost ER. There we are. G20. I looked at N3. Let's see if we've got an N3. I know Efren's got. I know you've got one because you were listening. Okay. N3. N3. Where's my list? Here we go. N3. Nope. No. N3. Okay. Oh, mindful. You have a toothache, and it's really helping distract you. Good. I'm glad that my chaotic idea is helping you. Okay, so hope you feel better. That's not very fun. Toothaches aren't very fun. Okay, we've got an N18. N18. Let's hope that we've got an N18. That would be awesome. Yes. Okay. Okay, cool. Way to go, Brian. You picked a good one. Now that gets us right here. Let me show you where we're at now. So we're one away, my friends. We're one away. Okay, this one is add 100 new followers in a month on your primary social media channel. So how does one do this? Honestly, this is going to be one we talk about tomorrow in our client Only training. But what I have found lately is pretty much the only way I can see this happening easily, especially if you're new, is to be a featured speaker on a Clubhouse event and post your Instagram or your Twitter as the way for people to connect with you. And if it's a well run room, like I did a talk a couple weeks ago with, oh, I feel bad, I've forgotten his name. But he's a really, he's really, really big into libraries and promoting libraries and he's starting his own library and he was the head of the Black Caucus of Libraries, I believe was what the title was. And so I was on his, and I was speaking, they were asking me questions. People were getting called onto stage on Clubhouse. And after that event was over and it was about 90 minutes, I believe I had 42 new Instagram followers. And that was a 90 minute thing. So it's not going to be any room because if there's only 10 people in the room, you're not going to have a whole bunch of people. I did actually have a whole bunch of followers also after, I think it was Brian Tracy, I can't remember, but a friend of mine was actually hosting his room, called me up, I got to ask a question and I was sitting on stage and people are always encouraged to follow everybody that's on stage. So that one also generated a whole bunch of Instagram followers after the event. Because on Clubhouse right now they don't allow links outside, but you can go to people's social media. So for me, that's how I would. If I was tasked with getting 100 new followers, I would find some rooms that I could hang out in, get brought up to stage to ask questions and try to ask intelligent, interesting questions so that people follow me. So that's what I would do. That's my, that's my strategy and tactic if I had to get 100 followers in a month. Okay, let's see what we're doing here. That was N18 from Brian. So where are we at? We had a second N18. I see down below. Or maybe that's where we came from. N18 maybe that's okay. There we go. We have a G12 and a G2. Two votes for G11. I wonder why. Okay, let's just check that out. And there's no G12. But guess what? There's a G11. Okay. Unfortunately, this doesn't do too, too much to help us, but There is a G11. Okay. So it doesn't help us get our line, but Here you go. This is the G11 and it is due a speaking engagement on your topic. And so one of my favorite recommendations is for you to choose a chapter that has value. And this goes back to our chapter titles kind of being things that add value, create curiosity, sell a benefit, and turn that chapter into a talk. I did somewhat. I just was at Podcast Movement last week and I kind of took a hybrid of one of my chapters and talked about a chunk of that chapter and then took five tips that were kind of pulled from chapter sections. But it was a talk on. It was called Self publish and Succeed. Wonder where I got that title from. But it was really, you know, why. Why now is the time to self publish and here's five tips to do it well. And. And so it was kind of. It was one part a chapter from my book and then really taking five of my best tips. So that can be a great talk. You want to come up with an great title. But events are a tremendous way to sell books to grow. An email list. And so what I did, I don't have a copy of it here, but I had a little worksheet. So I had, you know, you could write notes from my talk on this worksheet. And then the final page was essentially a feedback form where they could write feedback, give it to me. And it had the option to opt into my newsletter. And so we got people subscribed to my newsletter. People, we had a booth. So people came to the booth and got copies of my book as well. So it's a tremendous thing to do if you are comfortable or interested in speaking. I would start with meetup groups, find a local meetup group, offer to speak on this topic if it's a fit, and start that way. That's how, when I was in real estate, that's how I started speaking. I started speaking at local meetup groups. The first talk was, I think 11 or 12 people. And then from there I actually went straight to a talk in front of 600 people. I don't recommend that transition. First talk to 12, second talk to 600. I would rather have done, you know, five or six more meetup groups first. But, you know, when you get the opportunity to do something like that, you say yes, but meetup groups are phenomenal ways, especially in your local community. You know, you can meet people of shared interest and add massive value in a short talk that you essentially pull from your book. Okay, where are we? That was G11. We have an N18, which we already did. That was right. And oops. Sorry, 600. Yeah, it was 600. Mike, I'll tell you that story later if we've got time. Okay, I've lost my thing. Okay. N11. It's only N's. People see, Brian clued in. We need. There's one more N left for us to get a line, and then we're going to. You know, that's golden. Okay, N115. So it's only to 25. I kept this bingo box. Very simple. We're only doing to 25. Okay, so we've got an N12. Let's see. Let me check my list here. Fortunately, there's no N12. I won't give you a hint yet, but I'm getting close. Well, actually, no, I won't give you a hint yet. Poetry from the heart. But let's pretend that was N15. It's still no. It's still no. Okay, so let's see. Where are we at? Okay. Cruising on down the list. N12. N15. No. Oh, Mike, we were just talking about you. And sometimes the book is not being shown to the visitor. Why? I'm not sure what that means, Mr. Zero. Sorry. Well, we can come back to that. So, Jaunda, I don't know how you spell bingo normally, but I spell it with a B, an I, an N, a G, and an O. Same with you, Mike. So we're playing bingo. You guys could see the answer if you were paying attention. You could maybe see the number that we're missing. So, yeah, so there's no F in bingo. There's no h in bingo. N5 is not the one we're waiting for. Yes, Efren, you got it. Yay. N3. We are done, people. This experiment is done. So N3 was what we were waiting for to get our line. For those of you who've never played bingo, we were trying to get a line. So now we would call bingo, and you'd run up to the front of the room and somebody would verify that you got bingo and then you would get the prize. I see Mike Herd got it. Later. Mindful Eats. No, there's Android. Mindful Eats said. Is Clubhouse still only Apple users? No, they have an Android version now. Okay, so it is. Get 25 reviews on your Amazon page for your book. Getting reviews is tough, my friends. It took quite a while, even with all of you fabulous folks trying to help by post reviews. And if you haven't, it's not too late. We're going for 100. We're going to have another party. If you missed the Last party because you didn't post a review or let me know that your review was up, you missed a lot of swag. We made sure that every person had a prize at that event. And we had our brand new fabulous hoodies, which were featured in one of my new videos this past week. We were giving those away. So you still have a chance because we are not at 100 reviews yet. So you can still post your review. But 25 reviews is tough. I always tell people to kind of make a list of people who say they'll write a review, especially if you give them a copy of your book and just gently nudge them, gently follow up and see if they have in fact written that review. And then always be asking for reviews. Whether you've given a copy or somebody says, hey, I bought a copy of your book. Hey, I loved your book. You just say, you know what? The best gift you could ever give an author is a review. Would you please post an honest review of what you thought of my book from, you know, ideally on Amazon, but wherever you bought the book, you know, that would be great. Reviews. Reviews mean everything to an author. And just keep doing it, just keep asking, just keep saying. It is just vital to the success of your book, to the success of pretty much everything that is going to be done to market your book. When you pitch for a speaking engagement, you try to get a podcast. If you don't have at least 25 reviews to kind of back up the fact that what you say people are liking, they like your message, they, you know, they're reading it, then it can be really tough for the marketing to pick up steam post launch. So I'll also post a link to the Amazon review video that I have on getting more Amazon reviews and we'll go from there. So thanks for playing, you guys. Oh, my goodness. So, Efren, you win a prize because you got the bingo, but I feel like you've won everything. So if there's something you haven't won, please email Angela@AngelaokLaunchers.com and let her know. Of course we have your mailing address, but if you want it sent somewhere else or if you feel like you've won everything, you can designate someone else. But if you haven't won everything, let's make sure we hook you up. Okay, so thanks for playing along. I appreciate you guys having fun with me today, being flexible. We have one more draw for the Tuesday, Friday and a participation draw today. And then if you have any questions, we could do those. Okay. So every Tuesday And Friday, when a video comes out, you get entered to win. That means those of you tuning into the replay wondering if Julie went crazy in her July break, you can go ahead and comment below and still get entered to win. In two weeks, we'll do this again. But I won't do bingo. All right, IJ King, when you're watching this replay, because I don't think you're here live. Congratulations. You have won a mug, a journal, or copy of Self publishing. Publish and Succeed. Let Angela know at a N, G, E, l, a book, launchers.com, your mailing address and what you would like, and she will hook you up. And we have our participation prize for the day. The date of today is the 10th, so I'm going to go from 10th, 10 people up from Efren. So because Efren says fun, and I like that it's fun, I appreciate you guys playing along. So we've got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. And it's Efren again. It is your day. It's like you beat Corona and now you're here just winning all the swag. So if you don't mind, I'm going to choose another one. Okay, Let me go. What? What else can I do? I will go back up and see if anybody else picked a letter that was there. None of the N's, because N3 was the last one. So that's not it. So, nope, that's not a good plan. Efren, who should we give this to? Let's see who's new? Give it to Toothache. Yes. Thank you. Mindful Eats. Great idea. I appreciate that. Mindful Eats. Congratulations for having a toothache and still tuning in. We have awarded you some swag. So the mug, the journal, or a copy of Self publish and succeed. Email Angelaoklaunchers.com with your mailing address and your choice, please. And I saw one question here. If I've missed any questions, please go ahead and post it now. Louis or Luis, how do you build a following before launching? Well, funny enough, there is a things to do pre launch bingo card, which we won't do this again. I'll just shoot videos for all of these things. But let me give you a few things. Contact 10 influencers for endorsements or book support. My first book, More Than Cashflow, went to number one on Amazon in all of print books and that didn't happen because of my audience. I did have a newsletter subscriber list of about 10,000 people at the time and it and that and they were very, you know, I had 50 to 60% open rates on those emails, which is really high. So I had high engagement. I sold, I sold quite a few books to that audience, but I sold the most books to other people's audiences because they supported my book launch. Generally speaking, making building relationships before you have to make the ask to support your book will perform the best. The people that supported my book knew me from several years of us building a relationship in the real estate space. And that's why they got behind my book and endorsed it and promoted it. But that is a tremendous way because building your own following takes a lot of time. I mean, this channel, we're at 30,000 subscribers now. So thank you to all of you who have subscribed and supported the channel and joined me for these lives and comment. That's huge. It takes time. I mean, this channel has been around. Well, technically the channel has been around for quite a long time because I shot five videos in 2013 on self publishing after my book went number one because everybody was always asking me what to do and I was like, I don't have time. I'm in real estate, I'm not a publisher. So I shot those videos. But other than that, the real channel started getting built, you know, and it had less than a thousand subscribers as of 2017. So it took a lot of time and a lot of consistency to build up followers. Whatever space you're in, that's what it's going to take. It's going to take time and consistent and consistency. And so creating regular content, connecting with an audience, adding value, building a community, that's what will build an audience over time. Also on here we have 25 places or people, you know, that would help promote your book. Launch an author website. An author website will really help. It's. It doesn't really build a following. Let me see the lead magnet, which we talked about before on this channel and I think I have a video coming out. Yeah, I think it's in the queue for editing right now on lead magnets specifically. So book launchers.com forward/ the number seven steps is one of our lead magnets. If you want to see an example of kind of a very simple funnel. Again, I like to keep things simple, but that one converts incredibly well. And by convert, I mean people who land on that very basic page are very likely to put their name and email address in and get that download and join our email list so that they're getting the launch letter every two weeks. So, okay, let's see what you guys are talking about here. Sorry, late to call. Still on holiday in my mind. Well, great. You made it. Tobias, you missed a unique one. You might want to check it out. Okay. We. Photogal is laughing. Okay. Ah, blessed. But I'd like to give it forward to a newbie. I have all the swag except the hoodie. Thanks, Efren, to passing it to me. So the first person who says me who doesn't have the mug. The lovely or the lovely Notebook. So if anybody wants the notebook or the mug and you don't have it already, put me in there and it's all yours. That's very kind of you. Thankful. Thank you. Mug eats. Louis. Yes. I've heard you say that in your videos many times. I've watched your videos multiple times. Thanks for them. You're welcome. Thanks for being here. And me. Mike, Wade, We've got a winner. And Sydney, why not? It pulled you out of the. It pulled you, too, out of. You know. You were lurking. We didn't know you were lurking. So, for our two lurkers, email Angelaoklaunchers.com and let her know if you want the mug or the journal or self publish and succeed and we'll get those off to you. She's away all week and she's moving, so give her a couple of weeks to get everything back in order so she can mail them. But do drop her an email with your mailing address and what you'd like. And thank you so, so much for being here and playing along. I appreciate you guys being willing to try something different with me and have fun with it. And now we all know how to spell bingo. All right, we'll catch you back here in two weeks. Thanks, everybody. Take care.
