Spotify and Audiobooks Update, AI Voice Translation, and ChatGPT Multi-Modal for Authors

YouTube livestream (Julie Broad, Oct 11, 2023) covering several publishing-industry updates: platform disruptions and copyright/processing delays (Amazon/KDP, IngramSpark) affecting recent launches; Spotify/Findaway Voices now offering audiobook distribution to Spotify Premium (authors earn royalties based on listening, authors may avoid Findaway’s 20% distribution fee for Spotify), with dashboard listener insights; AI developments including Spotify testing voice-translation for podcasts and the evolving policy landscape (current restrictions on AI-only audiobook uploads to Audible/Findaway, likely disclosure requirements); Julie’s use of AI voice cloning for pickups and comments on when full-AI narration may be acceptable; ChatGPT’s multimodal tools (image and voice) demonstrated for cover analysis and market trend scans. The stream also promoted Julie’s book Self Promote and Succeed (bonuses available for limited time), included live prize draws, and announced a NaNoWriMo prep deep dive on Oct 21, 2023 at 10:00am PT.

Hello, Happy Tuesday to you my friends. Today we, well, the title of this is, you know, AI, Amazon and Scammers and interconnectivity of it all. But actually as I dove into it, there's so much cool going on and so many great updates in the publishing industry. And yes, we'll talk about AI and some challenges with Amazon and a little bit of the scammer stuff. But today I'm going to actually redirect this conversation to talk about some really cool stuff that's coming with Spotify, ChatGPT. And yeah, there's just lots of cool stuff happening and some challenges with all of that cool stuff. So that's what we're going to dive into today. As you are joining, be sure to say hello, let us know where you're joining from. If you're new to our live streams, it's important for you to know that if you're watching the replay, please play along comment because everybody gets entered to win. The people participating, you get entered to win. The people watching the replay, you get entered to win. And then every Tuesday and Friday we have a new video that goes live and you get entered to win when you comment the day a video is released. So participate, comment, have fun, interact. That's what this is all about. And we do have prizes. We have newest book Self Promote and Succeed. You can get a copy, you can get a copy of Self Published and Succeed. You can get our oh so soft journal and you can also get our NoboringBooks mug. And that's all just for playing along. So speaking of my book, I have to say an enormous thank you to everyone who has supported Self Promote and Succeed. If you have not yet got your copy, grab it, grab three or actually grab five, grab ten and you can get some fantastic bonuses for another six days. So if you, if you go to juliebroad.com self promote and Succeed, Angela will drop that link in there for you. You can see the bonuses that my team's put together for you. We've got some templates, we've got some guides and you get the audio version free. You'll get the I did, I recorded it with video. But then we're also just wrapping up the like proper audiobook version. So I did have somebody say that the sound effects were too much for them when they were listening to the YouTube version. So they are waiting for the clean audio version and that is coming as well. So so you'll get that free. And if you buy 10 copies then you will also get three months of access to our Foundation Library which is a robust database of training tips, templates, tools, resources to help you with everything writing from writing, editing, designing and of course marketing your book. It also includes all of our client only Replays trainings that we do every month for our clients, only on things like, you know, interviews with a library person so you can actually hear directly from somebody from the library system, Kickstarter, you know, all those kind of topics that we haven't actually covered here on Book Launchers TV but we have covered for our clients plus our Deep Dive, our monthly Deep Dive replays which we only post a tiny portion of on Book Launchers tv but we save all the replay goodness for our clients so you can catch up on anything that you've missed inside of that just for 10 copies. So the link is there. If you haven't already got your copy, go to juliebrod.com self promote and succeed and the instructions on how to claim your bonuses and all that fun is right there. And also a special special huge hugs and shoutouts and thank you to to my book army and my early reviewers. So Jim, Jack, Bonnie, Infogletton, whoever you are, Nick, Holly, Darla, Lori, Stella, thank you so much for your reviews, Big hugs for getting your reviews up. And of course anytime is a great time to post a review to help this book find other authors who need book marketing support. And once you post your review, go ahead and send an email to teamoklaunchers.com in November we will have a book reviewer party and it is fun. We give prizes, I do Q and A and you can ask whatever questions you want and it's a lot of just a really good time and it's my way of showing my appreciation to everybody who takes the time to post a review. All right, we have a lot to cover today. I didn't even realize how much there was to share until I started writing it down and I was like, oh that that happened. That's really cool. Oh wait, you should know about this. And it wrapped around all of it was my original thinking, which was sharing some of the challenges that we have found at Book Launchers with recent uploads, including Self Promote and Succeed, because on the day of the launch I got a copyright notice from Amazon basically saying you need to prove your copyright. That hasn't happened to me before. We also had some other error where it got kicked back. There was issues in the IngramSpark upload where the ebook is just now processed on IngramSpark. So there's been a ton of things that have happened not just to our clients, but also to my book. Most of these things, the, you know, buyers and other people wouldn't necessarily notice. A few. There have been some weird delays. Like, I know Bill, one of our YouTube besties here, his book has been delayed. I have to think it has something to do with some of these issues that have transpired. But I know other people who have received their copies, so, so they are shipping, but some are delayed. And, you know, it's. It's not a smooth ride. And so I think that's my number one comment to anybody launching from now until the rest of the year is I would expect the unexpected and I wouldn't expect a smooth ride because we're seeing more and more, all kinds of surprise issues. And sometimes the issues are things that we've encountered in the last few weeks. So we're like, okay, cool, we know how to resolve this, but often it's something that hasn't happened before. This certainly can be frustrating for our clients, but it's also really frustrating for our team that we keep hitting these weird road bumps. My best guess is that it is as a result of the influx of scammers that we've talked about the last month or so here, and the AI, you know, and, and the combination of these things happening, the algorithms and the systems are trying to, you know, keep the, keep the book quality up. So they're trying to kick back anything that looks like it's, you know, copyright infringement, that it looks like it could be, you know, AI generated with no human interaction. All those kind of things are causing problems for them. Sorry. And so they are causing problems for us. And so it's causing slowdowns, it's causing, you know, delays in process. We've had a couple of books just sit in processing for a while, not getting approved, not getting rejected, just sitting there. And we're like nudging and nudging and nudging. It's just taking a lot more time. So, you know, my, my two things here are expect the unexpected. Don't expect it to go smooth. If it goes smooth, fantastic. But don't expect it's going to be smooth and give yourself more time than you think you need. And so one of the things we've always done is we've always strongly recommended our clients have at least six weeks of pre launch, which means we're uploading the book. They can order that print proof, get the print proof, and, you know, that's six weeks prior to launch. We're even seeing that be not enough time in some cases because we're having trouble after we upload for that to order that print proof. It's taking a while to get the print proof. Then you get the print proof and you make some changes. You. When you make those changes, all of a sudden it goes through that whole approvals process again and, oh, boy, it's a journey. So I would give yourself more time than you probably want to give yourself and more time than you probably thought you needed on that. And, you know, that will give you a little bit less stress and worry should you. We're going. Should you encounter some of these issues and delays in processing that we're seeing from IngramSpark and Amazon. All right, exciting developments. That's kind of the downer part of this whole conversation, but there's been some really exciting developments as well. One of the first things that I have, I was really excited when Findaway Voices bought. They bought Spotify or Spotify Voices. Anyways, I just. My brain just went. Anyways, Spotify introduced 15 hours of audiobook for audiobook consumption for premium subscribers. So Spotify Premium subscribers can now listen to upwards of 15 hours of audiobook content each month included with their subscription. And I don't know about you, but 15 hours of audiobook is a lot of audio. So that's plenty for somebody like me where I might be listening to five to eight hours of audio a month, you know, because I also listen to a handful of podcasts as well. So, you know, that's great. That will. That will definitely cover any sort of audiobook consumption that I want to hit in a given month. But what this means for authors is that if you've uploaded to Find a Way Voices, you're now part of that pool. And the payouts are based on consumption and the total pool. So I'm just looking at my notes here. Find a Way Voices receive Royal. Find a Way Voices authors receive royalties the more their audiobook is listened to. This is straight from a link that Angela can drop in there from Findaway Voices. And so it says, find a Way Voices authors receive royalties the more their audiobook is listened to. And there's no 20% findaway voices distribution fee for audiobook revenue with Spotify. So encourage your audience to listen to your book on Spotify. I'm so excited about this. I will be uploading. We're giving away the audiobook version for free to anybody who buys a copy of Self Promote and Succeed right now. But I will be uploading the clean audio version to Find a Way Voices And I'm going to do that first and encourage people to get it there. And then we will eventually put it on ACX as well. And I'm going to continue to give it away for free. I will be running ads to a page that instead of downloading like the Seven Steps, you can get the audiobook for free. And that's. I'm going to be doing that going forward. Okay. And I'm going to just see what you guys are talking about before I talk about more stuff from Spotify because there's so much cool happening right now. All right, so who's here? We've got Susan Montgomery in the house. Hello. Thank you so much. And, oh, and she was on the Live with April Cox last night. So it's great to see you again. Soon as Susan, Stella is here from Massachusetts, Carrie and and Professor E.A. burlingame. Hello. And Angela, of course, is here from my team. She's the one that sends all the prizes out. We've got Mac from South Carolina, St. John Butler. Congrats on the new book. Thank you very much. And. And then Susan Montgomery says, I've heard that happening to other authors with the copyright issue. Thankfully, it was an easy resolution. So if you're just joining, I was talking about how on launch day I got a notice from Amazon basically saying I needed to prove copyright of self, promote and succeed. And there was some other error that caused a kickback. Both were resolved really easily. You know, we just sent a copy of the copyright notice when we filed for copyright. And that was, you know, they're like, okay, great, thank you. And it was, you know, within hours. Same with the error. When we noticed the error, you know, we kind of said like, what's this? We got no email, we don't know what the error is. And they said, oh, sorry, just a tech glitch. They fixed it. And that's what I mean by weird things happening. And, oh, I mentioned giving yourself more time. The other thing is to make sure you are checking and paying attention to the email that you use for your KDP and IngramSpark account because they send email notifications. And I talked about this previously with author accounts getting frozen or even terminated and how people got notice and they had time to resolve it, but they weren't checking the email account that they had used when they set up their KDP account. And so this means that they got notice and then they didn't resolve it in the time that they were given and so their account got terminated. So you always, as an author should be paying attention to those email accounts and taking special note of anything you're receiving from KDP, Amazon, IngramSpark, any of those accounts you want to pay attention to because there could be really, really important notifications. And that's, you know, that's where the copyright violation or not violation, but, you know, need to prove copyright email came in. And, and so you want to pay attention to that email very closely. All right, now. Oh, and I answered that question. I didn't even see it. Professor E.A. burlingame. What did they want you to prove? They gave you, they gave a list, actually. It was quite robust. You know, they could, they would even take proof of, you know, you paying an editor to edit your book. There was, there was a list of things that they would use, they would accept as proof of you owning copyrights. But, you know, we had the official copyright filing, so that's what we use. Okay, okay, Sorry, I was just checking everybody's notes here to see what they're talking about. But yeah, do say hello when you're here because Angela will be counting names, taking names, drawing names, all those fun things for everyone that is here participating. Okay, so Spotify going back to Spotify, which I am super excited about. Spotify is also going to, with this, with the audiobooks. They are going to provide authors with helpful weekly insights that give you a look at how your audience is engaging with your book. So they're going to, in their words, it says Spotify will open up insights in your dashboard about the aggregate listener demographics like country, gender, age group and total listening minutes. This incredible level of transparency will provide authors valuable insights to understand their audiobook listener better. ACX doesn't give us anything. ACX also doesn't let you set your price for Audible. And you know, as we have talked about in the past, their, their whole returns policy was not author friendly and it's not transparent at all either. And so, you know, it's not that I am anti Audible or anti acx. I have, you know, I'm really optimistic that Spotify can provide a stronger platform for authors. Ultimately though, you know, the majority of my audiobooks and the majority of our clients audiobooks are still selling through Audible. That is where most people get their audiobook content to date. But I am cheering for Spotify because Audible is not super author friendly and they aren't, they don't give you a way to promote the books. You can't set your price, you can't run promos and, and you don't get any information from them at all. So this is really exciting and another reason why I'm constantly recommending that authors go wide, as in don't go exclusive with Amazon with your book because when you do that, these other players that could potentially help you make more money, be more, just easily be more easily discovered. There we go. That is the right phrasing. They are, they are out there. And the more we do as authors to support their efforts, the more they're going to be able to do to in turn support us as authors. So, so all of that is really, really great news and very, very exciting. So, you know, high five to find a way Voices and Spotify. This is fantastic. Now, while we're talking about Spotify, I also want to mention something that they're doing with AI. And you know, as much as some of the book launchers, TV folks don't necessarily agree with my excitement and support of some AI tools, I do continue to be, you know, they're here, they're, they're here, they're not going away. So I choose to find efficiencies and opportunities with using them and, and to, you know, see how they can make our lives versus, you know, being completely anti AI and kind of focusing on all the bad. So I'm going to focus on the good and the opportunity. And one of the cool things that Spotify also recently announced was they have this I'm going to look for, they're calling it voice translation for podcasts. And so this is kind of cool because they are going to use AI to translate a podcast into other languages using the podcaster's voice. And they're doing some celebrity podcasts right now, like Kristen Bell, I can't remember all the, like there's five or six, maybe 10 podcasts. They're doing tests of this. But you know, I think it's really exciting to think about the possibility that for example, your audiobook could be translated in your voice into other languages. And with these kind of tools, that's not that far away. And assuming, which I would like to think they would, but assuming they're going to be giving you a piece of that revenue when this happens in the future, this is a more seamless way to have much wider reach with your work and your creations. So I think it's kind of cool. I think them beta testing it with some select podcasters and kind of seeing how it goes is a first step to a, you know, to potential potentially really cool stuff in the future. And of course I get it, I know this, that'll freak some people out. Just like when I told people I'd cloned my voice. You know, my audiobook right now is getting edited and I'm not doing pickups. So I did record it all, you know, and if you don't believe me, you can watch the YouTube version of it where you can actually see me for three days straight sitting in a little dark room recording my audiobook. But I'm not doing any pickups. So if you're not familiar, pickups are those, you know, when you miss, you miss a word, you misspoke a word, or it doesn't come through quite right, it's not fully pronounced. You normally have to go back in the studio and just, you know, say, say category, you know, say I say I didn't. I missed the word catalog. Catalog. Or you'd have to say a couple of words because you missed the. Which is really common. And so pickups, you know, take time and they're not. There's not a lot of value doing them. So my voice clone is doing my pickups and it's a huge time saver and energy saver for me because I don't have to go in and just record a slew of words that I didn't pronounce properly. And. And so this is something that I, I'm excited about. And I frankly would have potentially used I to record my entire audiobook to save me three days because I recorded over an entire weekend where I could have spent time with family. But, you know, the AI recording of the entire audiobook just wasn't good enough. Like, long form AI voice recording isn't strong enough, at least for my taste. But, you know, for me, it was something that I was totally fine with, you know, if it was going to be good enough. I know a lot of people feel differently, and that's totally fine. But you know, for me, the time is my most precious resource and I would have happily saved that 20 hours or whatever it was I spent recording the audiobook. So this is exciting. I think it's really cool. But definitely let's chat about it. And if you're watching this afterwards, chat about it in the comments below. You know what, what do you think of Spotify translating into other languages using the podcaster's voice? And Angela, I think there was a link in there on Spotify's announcement on that too. Okay, so what, let's do a draw. Let me see if I can. If I can share my screen and let you guys see this. A. Okay, so let's do that layout. And one moment While I try to pull up my Random Name Picker. So every Tuesday and Friday, we. Let's see. Let me do one thing at a time. Let me choose my Random Name picker. There we go. And allow. Okay, so every Tuesday and Friday, when a new video comes out, when you comment on the day it is released, you get your name entered into the prize, the prize draw. And so here's our lovely folks who have commented on the videos over the last couple of weeks, and they are now in my Random Name Picker. And I'm going to click the button. And your prizes to choose from today is a physical copy of Self Promote and Succeed, a physical copy of Self Publish and Succeed, the oh so Soft Journal or the no Boring Books mug. If you are outside of the United States, you can choose from the books. So, Alana, congratulations and thank you for commenting on the day a video is released. What you need to do to claim your Prize is email angelaeambooklaunchers.com Let her know which of those four prizes you want and where she needs to send them. And also, while we're here, let's just do the other prize because we're already in this screen and hopefully it's working and you're seeing it and everybody's spinning around again. Oh, we're going to draw again because you cannot win twice, but apparently you were absolutely meant to be a winner today, Alana. Okay. Stephen Searle. Oh, my gosh, it's been a while since he has won, I believe. And so congratulations, Stephen, and thank you for all of your support of the channel and commenting and all of the things that you do to support us over here at Book Launchers tv. So email Angela with whatever prize you would like to get your hands on these days, and we'll make sure that you get that. So email Angela@teamoklaunchers.com all right. And Alana's here, too, so that's awesome. I love when our prize winners are actually. There we go. Are actually here and they win, so yay. That's great. Okay, I'm gonna see what you guys are talking about before I go back to my list of exciting updates. Okay, Lois is here. Hello. And Matt. Fantastic. And let's see. Audible does sound very limiting. It is. I mean, again, it is the widest distribution platform and our authors are still making the majority of their money from Audible, and it's where people go to find most audiobooks. But I am pumped for these developments, Alana. I like using tech without it using us. Yes, absolutely. Will they allow for an audiobook if we use cloning of our voice. That was Matt's question. They will not. As in audible. I don't think Spotify Findaway Voices still doesn't allow it, but I think that's just because of the audible restriction. It's coming. It won't be long before it's allowed. What the issue is going to be is user acceptance. And so I think the AI voice has to be at a standard that is close enough to the human voice that you almost can't tell. And when it gets there, then I think they will allow it and it won't be an issue. And that was my own standard. Right. It's okay to me, if you listen to it and at various points you go, ooh, was that. Was that. That. That almost sounded like Robot Julie. But for the majority of the audiobook, I felt like it really did have to sound like a human. It had to have that softer edge. And what do you call it? Pronounce, you know, kind of. I don't know what the word is. Emote. Emote at the right moments. And that is one thing that the bots don't do. Well, they're getting much better, but they still don't quite emote at the right times on the right. You know, they don't put the emphasis in the right places that a human would or that you would as knowing the story and knowing the, The. The tips, the things that you're teaching. And you'll even watch if you watch the recording of my audiobook. I've been going through it as the editor has been sending it to me, and it's interesting to see there's various points where I'm smiling, right? I'm telling this story and I'm smiling and. And I'm, you know, my face kind of, you know, scrunches up as I'm, you know, sternly saying something. And, you know, that's, I thought was very interesting as I was watching the video of the recording, because that wasn't something that I was consciously doing because, you know, 15 hours into recording an audiobook, I am definitely not thinking about the video that the video camera that's recording me and trying to do anything for the video camera. All I'm thinking about is what I'm recording and trying to create a great listening experience. But as part of that, you will naturally, you know, experience the emotions that you feel or that you felt when you were writing the book for. For those sections. So anyways, I went on a long diversion to answer the question, Matt, which was simply, you cannot use a bot to upload to Audible to date and find a way Voices still has that restriction. I do anticipate this will change in 2024. I could be wrong, but I would anticipate in 2024 you will be able to upload AI voice to the audiobook platforms. Susan said, I've thought about doing a YouTube version of some of my books I've done read aloud of my children's picture book and working on another tonight. Yeah, I, I, it was, it was weird recording my audiobook on YouTube. I felt, I felt weird at first. Like I said, after a while, you kind of forget that you're recording it in video and you just focus on the audio. But I think for a children's book, I think it would be really cool because what my editor did is they, and this is why there's two editors and two versions of the book being created, because they created the YouTube version in a similar format to a YouTube video in that there's animations and text and other, and a little bit of sound effects and some other pieces to make it more interesting than just watching me talk into a microphone hours on end. So with a children's book, I think it could be really cool because you could put your animations, your, you could even have some, some of your characters come to life on the screen to a, to a degree while you're talking. So that might be really, really cool. Okay. And then I'm just seeing what else you guys are talking about. Let's see. Professor E.A. burlingame said, I think as long as it's made clear that it's AI generated and not the person suddenly speaking fluently in another language, I'm all for it. Yes, I think so. And yeah, I don't think they're going to keep it secret. I think that especially with those podcasts, you could go search for. I just forgot Kirsten Bell's podcast, what it's called. But you could go search for them in the other languages and see. But I'm quite certain it's disclosed as to, you know, what's going on with those things. And that's the big thing. You know, we're, we've just updated our terms and conditions at Book Launchers as well. And one of the things we need is AI disclosure from our clients as well, because we, at the very end, when we're uploading the books for them, we, we have to disclose what's been done with AI. And so I think disclosure is going to become common and required in all of these platforms, no matter what. Okay, so heading back to my list of things that I wanted to talk about. Let's see. All right. Oh, Amazon and AI. So, speaking of disclosures, we've talked about this several times now, how Amazon now requires you to disclose what your, you know, whether you generated it or, you know, had assistance with your book. And, and at the time when this first came out, I said this is. They're collecting data, and I don't anticipate that your book is going to be booted out. If you say, I used AI to generate this. And, and I think there's further evidence that that is true, as they just recently announced, like, I don't know, 10 days ago or a week ago, that they have made or they've committed to making upwards of a $4 billion investment in a company called Anthropic, which is behind Claude and Claude or Cloud. Or Cloud Claude, however you pronounce C, L, A, U, D, E. I would pronounce that clode because I don't know why, but that's how I pronounce it. And Claude is one of. Like, back in May, they were the one that was kind of saying, hey, we can read a book in two minutes. And it kind of bragged about that versus ChatGPT. You couldn't upload, you know, you can only upload a very limited amount and it can't read it and, you know, can't process long prompts basically is the issue. And so CLAUDE is great for producing summaries and book descriptions and kind of analyzing large swaths of information like a manuscript. And so that's kind of cool. And I only flag this because Amazon's investing in this. So, you know, when you see a company investing big money in AI, they're not going to say anything generated by AI is not going to be allowed on this platform. They were collecting data, and that's all that, you know, they were using the fact that they're a giant to collect a massive amount of data. And you know, what they have planned for that data, how they're going to use that data, I have no idea. But, you know, seeing that announcement just further reinforced my thinking that they're not going to penalize or punish AI users. They were using this to collect data. Okay, the last thing I want to touch on. And in the meantime, you can post any questions and we'll also do draws for all of you folks that are here in celebration of you being here and participating live. But so chatgpt they announced something that is really cool and I've just been, I've just started playing with it. So I'm by no means an expert, but. And they also haven't rolled out all the pieces that are coming to everyone yet. But they're multimodal. So what does this mean? Well, it means you can take a photo because you know if you've got ChatGPT on your phone like I do, you can take a photo of something and ask it like, what is this? Tell me more about this. And, and I. It also. Well, there's lots of applications as an author, you can talk to it. You can actually start to have a conversation. Which reminds me of that one movie where the guy basically falls in love with his AI robot. You know, now you don't need to have friends. You can just talk to your AI. No, no, please don't. We still need humans. But. But you can actually start talking to it and you having conversations. That voice piece is the piece that's rolling out. It's not out to everyone yet, but the picture piece, it's there. And one of the things that it says right on its announcement is you're not sure what to have for dinner. Snap a picture of your fridge and ask it what to have for dinner. Kind of, kind of crazy, but it'll give you a step by step recipe with ideas after dinner. This part really excited me. And you're working on your kids homework. You can snap a picture of the math homework and go like, how do we solve this? And I can tell you, I'm helping my son with his grade one math and I don't get it. I don't understand why we have to subtract to 10 to get the answer for 17 minus 9. Why do I have to subtract to 10 to get the answer? Anyways, it took me five, like five minutes to just understand what the question was asking. So I am dreading future math. But you know, maybe ChatGPT can help me. I won't have to hire that math tutor I've already got lined up for grade three math. Okay, so back to being an author and how this could help you in your author journey. You can upload a picture and get analysis and recommendations and so for kicks, actually maybe I can even share the screen for this. Hold on, just give me one second. And while I'm doing that, Angela, why don't we pick a prize? So let's go from. Let's go, let's pick a random person here. Let's go from your Spotify voice translation AI link to 10 people down. Because today is October 10th, right? I think that's date. So go 10 people down from that. Your link of the Spotify Voice Translation AI announcement. And let's see who our winner is. And if it's Atlanta, Atlanta can pick somebody else because Atlanta seems to be on a winning streak today. You better go buy a lotto ticket or something. Okay, let me see if I can share my screen and share chat GPT with you guys to show you what I did when I was playing around today. Yes, here it is. I think this should work. Okay. All right. I think you're seeing it, hopefully. Fingers crossed. Okay, so let's back up here. So what I did was I asked it, you know, you can analyze a cover, and it said, yes, feel free to upload your cover. So I uploaded self promote and succeeded. And it said, I can provide valuable insights and input, but it's always a good idea to consult with design professionals or gather feedback from your target audience for comprehensive insights. So I shared my cover and this is what it said. It analyzed it for typography and title, subtitle, imagery, author name, color scheme, and overall design. And congratulations to Cassie, our fabulous, fabulous lead designer at Book Launchers, because it likes your cover design. So. But I thought this was a really neat way to break down a cover. It's actually kind of how we walk. There's a little bit more detail in how we walk our clients through their cover designs, but we tend to give our clients three separate designs and have them go, okay, yes, I like this imagery. I don't like the colors. I like this font and kind of break it out. We've already done the title and subtitle work behind the scenes, but this is kind of neat. And then I thought, well, great, I can upload pictures, you know, and it analyzes it. Can I upload it and get it to give me a market summary? So I took. I uploaded the top 10 from the bestsellers in the book publishing industry category and, and said, okay, can you analyze these bestsellers for market transforming? So I didn't even give it a lot of instruction. I was kind of just curious as to what I would get. Not giving it a lot of instruction. And it actually did pretty well. It focused on the top five titles first. And, you know, man, this didn't really give me anything too exciting. But it did highlight some cover design trends. So simplicity and directness, emotion and color. It flagged historical imagery when books went to war. I mean, honestly, I don't even Think that should be in there but that's fine. There was a few books in this category that I thought were a little, a little weird like, like why is this in there? But anyway, that happens with Amazon on quite regular. But then it analyzed price points. It said prices vary, but Most were under 15. This suggests readers in this category appreciate affordability. The presence of Kindle Editions with Kindle Unlimited for some indicates a trend towards digital reading and subscription based access. Review count and ratings. Books with a higher number of reviews suggest strong reader engagement and possibly effective marketing strategies. Star ratings are generally high formats what they came in here which is also interesting because in some other categories when you look at this you'll actually see audio. There's multiple audiobooks in that, in those top 10. So I mean this, this isn't super, super enlightening but I didn't ask it for very specific things. So I feel like you could upload quite a bit of quite a few pictures and really start to get some cool market trends and analysis. And so I thought this was a really neat thing with, with, with ChatGPT going multimodal and, and that's one of the big things that I took away from their announcement was, was the fact that being multimodal now opens up the ability to, for you to use voice, which is a lot easier. You know, I'm, you know, my team already knows this but a lot of times they'll ask a question and rather than type out the answer, I'll just send them a voice note. It's so much easier. So being able to talk to ChatGPT I think is going to really open it up and give you a lot more information and the ability to upload pictures and things like that is really cool. It also knows more. So it's up to date. I don't know what the date is now, but it knows who I am. It, you know, without me actually teaching it too much, it's now it knows Book Launchers TV is my channel. It knows I'm in self publishing. It knows the books I've written. And so it's way more in tune with who I am and my voice. And I've trained it a bit but it feels like in this recent update it just got so much better. So I thought that was kind of exciting and kind of cool. All right, so who's our next winner? Let's see, see, let's see what we've got here. Okay, sorry, I'm just looking to see if Angela notified us of our winner. Hey Claire, welcome and thank you for feeling my pain on grade one math. I never thought I'd struggle with grade one math. All right. Oh, Neat Zone, Queer Name and Samar Marketing and Vlogs. They're the winner. So congratulations. You can choose between Self Promote and Succeed, Self Publish and Succeed, Our oh soft journal and our hashtag no Boring books mug for your prize. I honestly don't know how to answer any of these questions, though I almost feel like they are bot driven questions. But perhaps I am wrong. All right, Angela, I'm ready to take questions if anybody has any questions. We do have a little bit of time today for a little Q and A. And of course, you know the book Self Promote and Succeed. The bonuses that go along with buying your book are still available for another six days. So you can grab yours@juliebrod.com self promote and Succeed and see what you can get for 1, 5 and 10 books bought. So those bonuses are there and how to collect them are there too. All right, so question one from Stella. Will the translation be available for proofing to ensure it's a good translation? This is for the. So talking about Spotify for the podcasts, I have no idea. This is beta and they're only doing celebrity podcasts to begin with. I would assume there's somebody on their team that's doing it and checking it. But you know, as far as when it rolls out to the greater public, you, I'm sure you will have the option to opt into. Won't be something that happens automatically. And if you opt in, I don't know what will happen. I mean, I wouldn't be able to, I wouldn't be able to edit in any other language, so I'd have to rely on somebody else. But you know, if it's an AI disclosed translation, you know, people may be more forgiving of an imperfect translation, depending on how imperfect it was and how many mistakes there were, but I don't know the answer to that. Question two, Susan, is this feature with the photos only available in the pro paid version of Chat GPT? Probably, I would imagine because it's brand new. They seem to roll all of that stuff out with the paid version, I have the paid and I have chat GPT4. So I, you know, it's not a lot of money for, you know, something that I use a lot for ideas and just to stay on top of what's happening. So I would say it probably is only paid. I know with the Voice, the multimodal pieces like the Voice, they're rolling that out to Enterprise versions first before it goes out to even the paid accounts. And that's the last question. So that's fantastic. So we have one more prize to give away. Let's see, Alana, you were our grand winner today. So would you like to play? Would you like to be the giveaway person? If you want to pick somebody who was chatty, supportive, friendly in the comments, you can, you can go ahead and choose that. Or if you don't want the pressure I can get, I can put the pressure on Angela to choose our kind of most participated participative. Is that a word person in the chat? Let's see. Susan says, I found a short phrase I can call myself like you or Julie the book broad. I can be Susan the strumming storyteller for my children's books about the ukulele. Love it. Susan the Strumming Storyteller. I like it. It's very memorable. But, yes, I know you have other genres, like, I think there was Christian and there was memoir. So, you know, lots of challenges. But, you know, as we kind of mentioned in our conversation last night, it's all about kind of the bigger brand and where you want to take your brand and what you're working on next so you can build towards that. Thanks, Andy. I appreciate the congrats. And Alana, I think Alana sweating over there trying to pick a winner. So, Angela, you might have to help. I, I put the, I put the pressure on Atlanta to pick a prize winner. But, you know, if, if it's too much, that's okay. Angela can help and we can take it from there. And also, also, I should tell you, there's a deep dive happening. It is on October 17th. No, 21st. And Angela, if you have that registration link handy, I forgot to get it to you in advance, but this is going to be a NaNoWriMo prep session, and it's going to be hosted by Dan Good, who is our manager of manuscript development. And he's, you know, one of our top ghostwriters and writing coaches and oversees all of our writing team. And he's going to help you prep for NaNoWriMo. And so you guys will talk about book outlining, you know, structuring your writing sessions so that you can get things accomplished. Accomplished. And if you're not familiar with NaNoWriMo, it's. It's actually, you know, National Novel Writing Month. But I mean, it's NaNoWriMo, so why can't it be National Nonfiction Writing Month? And you can register to be formally a part of it or you can informally participate and just set the goal of writing a book in the month of November. In order to successfully draft a book in the month of November, you need to be very prepared. And so that's what we're doing. We're setting you up for success. If you're going to write a book in the month of November. And Dan will spend two hours with you answering questions, talking about your hook, your reader, your book outline, and how to structure your writing sessions to try to accomplish the goal of writing the first draft of your book in the month of November. So that's happening on October 21st at 10:00am Pacific Standard Time. The registration link is in the comments below. If you're watching the replay I or if you're still here live, it is in the chat where Angela has dropped it for you to get registered for that two hour session. And there will not be a replay. However, if you get 10 books, you will get access to our foundation library, which has the replay to this deep dive or will have the replay to this deep dive and all of our deep dives for the last many years, although a couple didn't record. But other than those, it has all those replays and a lot more other cool stuff inside of that foundation library. So. All right, so who is our winner? Sorry, I'm looking for the winner. Angela, did we get another winner? So Alana asked. Oh, it looks like maybe Susan. Sorry. Oh, yeah, there we go. Susan, congratulations. Thank you for being here and participating so you can choose from self promote and succeed, self publish and succeed, the mug or the journal. And thank you to everyone else, even those of you who joined late. It's okay that you joined late. You're here and you can catch the replay, which will be available on YouTube in minutes. And as I said, you've got six days left to claim your bonuses. You know, even if you just buy one copy, you will get the audiobook and some templates and then you can buy more copies and give your author friends or do other giveaways, whatever you want to do. And of course post your review. And after you've reviewed the book, email us@teamooklaunchers.com with the review because we'll have a reviewer party in November and you will be invited. All right, thanks, Angela, for your support as always and thank you to everyone for being here. I appreciate you. We'll be back here again in two weeks and you will see Dan on October 21st at the deep dive training to prep you for Nanorimo. All right, thanks everybody. Bye.
