You're a great fan and you want to support your favorite person's book launch in a big way, but you're wondering how to do it. Stick around. Hi, I'm Julie Broad, award winning author and founder of a fantastic company called Book Launchers that helps you write, publish and sell a fantastic business boosting book. Your favorite person, whether it be a podcaster, a speaker, maybe an author, or someone who runs a company you love. They've put in the time and money and suffering that goes into creating a great book. You're proud. And even more than that, you're excited and you want to be the best possible fan and support their success. I've got seven ways to support them and a couple of little bonus tips to be that superstar fan we all wish we had. Number one, Buy their book. Buy three copies even. I realize you're not going to read three books, but they make great gifts. No? Number two, Go into your local bookstore and request the book. Ask them to order it in for you. Listen, it's difficult getting bookstore distribution as an indie author, but if enough people are asking for it, and even better, putting down a credit card to get it ordered in, you can be sure that the stores are going to carry it. Number three, Go into your local library and ask for the book. Place it on hold if it's not there yet, but it's coming. Number four when their book is in the bookstore, here's what to do. Ask a bookstore employee where the book is located. Even if you know exactly where it is, go to the bookstore customer service clerk and ask them about the book. The whole point is to get the employees to take notice of the book. So when someone asks them for a book, they recommend this book comes to mind. Then go to where it is in the store. Turn it so the book cover is facing out and someone might buy it. Number five Leave a review on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Goodreads or all three. It's truly the best gift you can give an author. It beats money or even chocolate. A great review goes a long way. And here's the thing you you can copy and paste and leave that same review on all sites to save time. If you want to be a superstar fan, do a video review and take a picture of you with the book for Amazon. These extras make the review stand out in a big, big way. Number six Attend the book release party if there is one, and bring some friends. If there isn't a party and you're a rock star fan, obviously throw a party. It's lonely to have a book release party or a local signing with low attendance. The author wants to make a big splash. You don't even have to buy a book well because you've already bought a bunch in the earlier steps, right? Just being there and celebrating the author's achievement is a big boost of support. Read the book in public places. This means you didn't buy the Kindle, you bought the physical book and then take pictures of yourself reading it and spread the news through social media channels. Tell your friends why this book is awesome and who should read it. And for bonus points, a Rockstar fan will probably personally contact media contacts or influencers they know to see if there's a way to help this new author. Your connections could help your favorite person in a big way. Doing all seven would be truly amazing, but doing two or three for your favorite author would be a great gift and help them in such a big way you may not even know how important and appreciated your efforts will be.
