Hello, I'm Brian Tracy and today I want to talk to you about how to find a business mentor. To be successful, we absolutely have to find people who have already paid the price to learn the things that we need to learn to achieve our goals. No matter where you are in your journey as a business professional or entrepreneur, a business mentor is someone who that can be incredibly valuable. Everyone needs a little guidance and outside counsel every now and then in their business pursuits, and a business mentor is able to serve as a reliable source of help and advice. However, finding a business mentor is sometimes a difficult process, especially if you're not even sure where to look. So to help you find the perfect advisor to guide you towards your professional goals, here are three tips you can use to find a business mentor. First, try looking within your personal network. If you're searching for a more experienced business professional to serve as your mentor, looking at your own network is a great place to start. It goes without saying that someone who you already have a positive and well developed relationship with will both be a better mentor as well as be more likely to accept this new responsibility. Narrowing down your connections to a few top choices and then ask them if they would be willing to act as your mentor. If you don't have anyone in your current network who is able to serve as a business mentor, consider focusing on growing your network in order to expand your channel choices in the digital age. Connecting with other business professionals is now easier than it has ever been before. My second tip for you is to take advantage of networking events and mastermind groups that happen around you. Connecting with other like minded business professionals is not only an incredible opportunity to get new ideas on how to grow your business, but it can also lead to meeting many experienced potential mentors. There are many kinds of networking events and mastermind groups that specialize in different areas of focus such as different industries, business models, or even job titles. Whether it's online or in person, these events are designed for professionals looking to meet other professionals. So once you're there, try to connect with as many people as possible.
