7 Easy Side Jobs to Help You Make More Money | Brian Tracy

Hello, I'm Brian Tracy and today I want to give you some tips on ways that you can earn a little more money with side jobs. Almost everyone would enjoy having a little extra spending money their bank account. If you have a stable job earning a salary, though, opportunities to bolster your income beyond what it already is can seem few and far between. You just simply don't have the time or the energy. The good news is that there are plenty of side jobs available that you can pick up in order to make more money without having to give up your career or even too much of your free time. If you are looking for a way to make a little more money on the side, check out these six great side jobs. First, if you have a vehicle and a smartphone, you can start making money as a driver for ride sharing companies such as Uber and Lyft. These companies do have an interview process and require that you own a newer four door car and are able to pass a background check. If everything checks out though, you can start earning around 16 to $18 an hour picking up people and taking them to their destinations. Next, if you have skills in a particular area such as software development, writing, marketing, graphic design and so on, you can start a side business as a freelancer or as a consultant. Check out sites such as Upwork, Freelancer.com and Fiverr F I V E R R to begin your search for clients. Pay for freelancers and consultants can vary a lot depending on your field and your experience in it. However, many freelancers earn upwards of $30 an hour or more and consultant gigs pay even more. Third, working as a virtual assistant for companies such as Zirtual allow you to perform the job of a secretary personal assistant from the comfort of your own home. Clients will be assigned to you and you will be responsible for tasks such as replying to emails, organizing files, scheduling meetings and much more. On average, US based virtual assistants earn about $12 an hour and you can do it at home or sometimes on the move. Fourth, if you'd rather work with animals than with people, then you're in luck. Pet sitters and dog walkers are in a high demand and these tasks make for an excellent side job. You could start with your family, neighbors and friends in order to build up referrals and experience. Or you could start your job as a pet sitter dog walker on a website such as Rover or Dog Vacay. The pay for a dog walker pet sitter will vary largely depending on where you are located and how many pets you take on. However, you can easily bring in an extra one to $200 a week or more with these jobs. Fifth, if you live near a major university or other research center, you can get paid to participate in research studies. This is especially true if you happen to have a quality that researchers want to explore, such as a sleep condition or the fact that you are an identical twin. With that said, there are also plenty of opportunities to participate in research studies for perfectly ordinary people as well. To find a research study taking place near you, all you have to do is start searching online. The pay for these studies will vary wildly with the more demanding, time consuming studies paying much more. However, you can expect to earn anywhere from $50 to several thousand dollars per study that you participate in. Sixth, if you have some higher education in a particular topic that is also taught at the grade school level, such as math or English, you could easily start picking up jobs as a tutor. Tutors are in high demand and you don't have to have a doctorate in the subject to qualify. A bachelor's degree and or an extensive background in the subject is all that is required. When I was taking university courses, I hired other students who were much smarter than me in those courses to teach me mathematics, statistics, economics, business, science and so on. Stuff that was overwhelming to me. But these younger people just picked it up instantly and they could save me hours getting to the same level of expertise. And I am one of literally millions of people who need this kind of help and you can find these people all around you. So to get started, check with the office at your local school to see if they have any students in need of tutors. Once you secure a job tutoring, you can expect to earn around $50 to $20 an hour. I was paying 25 to $35 an hour and for a tutor when I used one. Finally, you might have a spare room or house that you could rent out. If so, you can make a little extra money renting that place out to travelers using services such as Airbnb, Flipkey, and Home Away. This side job isn't for everyone, and chances are you'll need to be especially gregarious to be open to the idea. However, if it sounds like something you might enjoy, you can easily earn $1,000 or more a month depending upon where you live. With all the side jobs that are available, your income does not have to be limited by the salary of your 9 to 5 job.
