Cash in on your idea before someone else does. All wealth comes from adding value from producing more, better, cheaper, faster and easier than someone else. Brian Tracy People have great ideas all the time, but the most challenging part is learning how to monetize your idea so you can cash in on it. If you're looking to make money off an idea, start by learning and implementing these steps to cash in on your big idea before someone else does. First, you need to do your research before you do anything, it's time to hit the books and start doing research on your idea. This will help you figure out whether your idea is unique, feasible, and worth pursuing. Today, research can be done by browsing the Internet, reading books, talking to friends or experts in the field. If you find that your idea has already been done, brainstorm some different angles. How can you take your original idea and give it a unique spin? Unique enough to set it apart from everybody else's big idea? Once you've determined that your idea is a good investment, you're ready to move on to the next step in the process. Creating a business Plan Develop a basic business plan to lay the framework of your idea. Don't worry if you're still fuzzy on some details. Get the foundation of a plan on paper to continue moving forward. Your business plan should include things a mission statement, a description of products or services, your goals, a marketing strategy and financial information, including current current assets and projected revenue. Your business plan will help you make headway on turning your idea into reality and into cash. After you've confirmed a business plan, determine whether a patent is necessary for your idea. The process of obtaining a patent can be expensive, but if you think your idea has the potential to bring in major money, this is a crucial step that will help save you legal problems in the long run. Do the research to make sure your idea is patentable, then start the process. You'll want to figure out what type of patent you need, a utility patent, a design patent, or a plant patent. Then fill out the correct patent application. From there, it's a waiting game until your application is accepted. 3. Build a website and create a digital presence now it's time to brand yourself. In today's digital age, the first step is to create a website. There are multiple free platforms where you can build a website. Just choose one and start picking the plan that fits your budget and creating some simple webpages with content about your idea. Once the basics of your website are ready to go, build off of your site to create a broader digital brand. Your digital presence should reflect your overall brand image, attracting the ideal customer who would purchase from you. Utilize social media channels to start building a community that is interested in your idea and what it offers. 4. Share your idea. You've written a business plan, you have a patent in hand, and your website is up and running. To be successful, the last thing you need to do is promote your idea for all it's worth. You can monetize an idea through promotion in multiple ways, using digital marketing tactics such as blogging and social media to promote your idea. This especially applies if your ideas are complex. Content marketing is the perfect opportunity to explain outside of digital efforts. Openly talk about your idea. When it comes to how to share an idea, one of the best methods of promotion is simply to talk about it a lot.
