How Happiness Can Help You Succeed | Brian Tracy

This transcript of a Brian Tracy YouTube video argues that true success is best measured by happiness rather than money or external achievements. Tracy outlines three domains where pursuing happiness leads to greater success: personal fulfillment (set goals that lead to your own happiness), work (seek happiness in the jobs you spend most of your time doing), and relationships (cultivate positive relationships to preserve energy and morale). The talk ends with a call to adjust goals and relationships to increase happiness and an encouragement to take action now.

How Happiness can Help you Succeed Happiness comes from when you believe in what you're doing, know what you're doing, and love what you're doing. Brian Tracy what Does Success Mean to youo? People often struggle to define success and what it means to them. For some people, success is found in how much money they make or how wealthy they can become. They base their level of success on their bank account balance, the type of car they drive, or the size of their home. Success to those people is completely financial in nature. For others, success is linked to their job titles, academic achievements, or other professional accolades. These people define their success as what they have accomplished at work or at school. But there is more to success than money or achievements. There is something that goes much deeper and will play a bigger role in how much you get out of life. The ultimate form of success is actually happiness in life, and it is what you should strive for. When you're achieving your goals, progressing through life, and you're happy doing it, you'll find deeper meaning in what you have accomplished. Because of this happiness, your outlook on life will be much more positive and enjoyable. With that in mind, here are three ways striving for happiness can help you succeed in life. Aim to achieve happiness and Personal fulfillment When accomplishing your goals when setting up your goals, you should always ask yourself, do these goals lead me to my own perceived happiness and personal fulfillment? This question is important because your goals are personal to you, and by asking this, you will make sure that your goals are relevant and specific to you and your situation and not based on someone else's goals. People often get caught up in comparing their goals with other people's goals and then trying to follow in their footsteps to achieve the same outcome. Unfortunately, this does not mean that following the same path as someone you consider successful will give you the same success or even the same happiness. However, when you use your own happiness as the main goal to achieve by accomplishing all of your other goals, you will be able to live a fulfilled life that is personal to you and focused on what will give you enjoyment and meaning. Aim to achieve happiness in your work People spend so much time throughout their life working, so this is another area where you should look to add more happiness to have more success. You may be good at the job you do, but if you're unhappy with the work or even just tolerate it, that work will take away from your feelings of success and leave you feeling like you wasted all that time, energy, and effort. If, however, you seek happiness as a metric for success for the work you spend all those hours doing. Then the time spent doing that work becomes worth it and the work becomes even more enjoyable. You'll find pride and joy in what you're accomplishing. That time will add value to your life and then become something you can enjoy and succeed at consistently. Aim to achieve happiness in your relationships Human beings are social creatures and they thrive on happy and fulfilling relationships, including those with family members, friends, co workers, or spouse. When these relationships are smooth and seemingly effortless, when they are full of laughter and joy, life seems easy and full of success. On the other hand, when these relationships are unhappy or trying, it can exhaust your energy reserves, put you in a bad mood, or discourage you in many ways from achieving your full potential. Not only will this unsuccessful relationship feel draining in an interaction with the other person, but that unhappiness can spill over into other domains of your life, like work or other relationships, and negatively impact your success in those areas as well. For that reason, it is important to strive to build and cultivate happy, fulfilled relationships with all those around you. By doing this, you will keep yourself surrounded by people who will help you prioritize your happiness, who will challenge you in a good way, and who will regularly fill your cup up with the positive energy you are striving for. While there are many ways you can be successful and define success, by focusing on happiness as the main measurement of success, you possess the ability to create a satisfying and fulfilling life. Now the question today is how will you adjust your goals and relationships to achieve a greater level of happiness and success in life? And remember, as Brian always says, if you want to change your future, take action and take action now.
