Brian Tracy.
Hello, my name is Brian Tracy. I get a lot of questions from my friends on social media and I've decided to answer some of them as we go along. Here's a question we received recently.
I'm currently a student studying business and marketing and I was wondering if you have any tips on what I should be doing now during my time at university to ensure a successful career when I graduate, including job search and recruitment tips. Thanks so much.
Well, Leanne, the key to success in business and has always been the case for thousands of years, is your ability to go out and sell a product or service to someone. My daughter Katherine is going to university interning in a direct marketing company. She phones people and sells over the phone. My two sons did the same thing. They went and knocked on doors in the summertime to sell products from door to door. If you want to be in business and marketing, then you're going to have to be very good at selling stuff. In fact, in business we say the whole key to success is sms. Sell more stuff. So if you have time, go and find a job in sales. Find a straight commission job. One of the most successful multimillionaires I know started off selling stuff on the sidewalk to passersby and he was terrified when he started. After he'd been doing it for a few days, he had no fear at all. Today he's a multi millionaire and runs several different businesses and they're all based on selling stuff. So my advice is always, if you want to be successful in business, then go and sell stuff. And by the way, it's the people who sell stuff who do the marketing that sell stuff, who get paid the most and have the highest standard of living. I hope that answer was helpful to you and if it was, be sure to take action and take action now.
