Why Failure is Good for You | Brian Tracy

Hello, I'm Brian Tracy, and today I want to give you some tips on how to accept failure and let it propel you to greater success. We work hard to achieve and to succeed. But have you ever considered that failing may actually be better for you in the long run? Ralph Waldo Emerson said it well when he the greatest glory in living lies not in never failing, but rising every time we fail. In other words, failure is what spurs us on, not success. Without failure, few of the greatest inventions known to man would exist today. Yet society looks down on failure, making us believe that it is a flaw in our character. Don't fall for that lie. Let your failure propel you to success at a far greater level than you even imagined. Failure is important because it gives you the strength and the fortitude to dig deep within yourself and find out what you are truly made of. Plus, you learn a lot from it. Without failure, we would often move forward without ever seeing the bigger picture. And that's important when it comes to finding real success. It has been said that failure is the greatest teacher of all time. It offers us a chance to look at the world and the problem in an entirely new way. It allows you to step beyond what you know or think you know and look for answers where others are afraid. Failure teaches us how to be brave and how to trust our instincts. It can also show us where not to go. In this journey called life. As humans, we tend to fixate on one problem and one solution, forgetting that there may be hundreds or thousands of different ways to reach the same destination. When we take a wrong turn, it can be easy to give up and move on. But that is not going to give you the best results. Thomas Edison knew this and used his failures as a way to learn what not to do. They were stepping stones to greater successes. Known as one of the greatest inventors of all time, it still took Edison more than 1,000 tries to get the light bulb right. When asked what it felt like to have failed 1,000 times, Edison replied simply, I didn't fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps. If you succeed at everything you do, you will never know the intrinsic joy that comes with figuring out how to smash through obstacles. Failure gives you the opportunity to learn from your mistakes and and figure out how to do things better in the future. Before we wrap up, I'd like to leave you with a thought to share with your friends and followers. Resolve to accept the worst should it occur now. You can stop worrying now.
