In this solo motivational video, Brian Walch contrasts spending with investing in oneself. He shares a personal story about joining a gym, emphasizing the need for a return on such expenditures and how the commitment transformed his health and lifestyle. Walch encourages viewers to adopt an "investment mindset" for expenses related to health, personal development, career growth, travel, or hobbies, asking them to reflect on past investments (2021) and plan future ones for 2022 with expected returns. He frames this talk as part of a 30‑day video series and invites the audience to visit livelifeintegrated.com to sign up for weekly emails and explore his other content.

Today I want to talk a little bit about investing versus spending and specifically when we're talking about what you spend on yourself or what you invest in yourself. So years ago I joined a gym and it was a lot more money than I was used to spending on a gym. And I said, well, if I'm going to go do this, I want a return. I want to make sure that I get some value out of this. And really, that commitment and that decision to keep that going has really transformed my physical health and allows me to live a different type of life than I would have been able to if I had not made that commitment. I also made a change in just my mindset. Instead of always thinking, am I going to spend money on myself? Which to me has always been a little frivolous, I think about what am I going to invest in myself and what kind of return do I want on that investment? Whether it's health and fitness, maybe it's personal development or career development. Maybe it's things that just nourish the soul like travel or hobbies. But whatever it is, think about your mindset. Is it a spend mindset or an investment mindset? Maybe look back at 2021 and think about the things that you did and think about them as investments in yourself. And then think about 2022. What is it you want to invest in yourself and what kind of return are you going to expect? Hope you're enjoying this journey of 30 days of videos.
