If someone wants to get promoted into management, the first thing that they need to do is express that desire to somebody. We need more good managers and people that have a desire to lead and help people grow is really the most important trait. When somebody's a manager and they want to get promoted into the next role, one of the things they need to do is think about not just how to be great at their role, but then how can they do something special. We call that the perform stage. So there's three stages of practice, perform and pioneer. The perform stage is getting good at your role. The pioneer stage is when you want to do something good, something special, make a name for yourself and position yourself for what's next in your career.
