Day 30 ILF Environment

The final layer of the Integrated Life Framework breaks environment into three parts: physical spaces like home and workplace, relational connections with friends and mentors, and emotional dynamics in family and work. The presenter argues that while major environmental changes seem costly, they're manageable when divided into these layers.

Happy Friday. This is video number 30 of my 30 day video challenge. And before I jump into the fifth layer of the integrated Life framework, I just have a quick request. I do a weekly email. I call it Simple Sundays and I send it out each Sunday and every Sunday I try at least to provide practical information on how to build a balanced and integrated life. So if you found some of this content interesting and want to keep following along, I'll put the subscription form link in the comments below. And I'd love it if you'd sign up. Diving into the last part of the Integrated Life framework and we're talking about environment now. For me, I grew up thinking about nature versus nurture. So nature, like who are the people we were born as and then nurture. How does our environment shape who we are? And I think there was some subconscious part of me that just always thought of environment as, oh, that's the way things are. And so when I started thinking about it more, I realized that I can change my environment. But making changes at this level is costly. If you think about the cost of changing jobs, or changing where you live, or changing partners, those can be pretty costly changes. So I wanted a way to deconstruct just the environment a little bit and so forth. This is the approach I took. I broke it into three layers. So first would be the physical environment. That's the built environment. You know, your home, your workplace, your neighborhood, the streets you walk down, just all the physical aspects and you know, thinking about how does that shape you and what are things that you'd want to change about that. I think we could also probably put the metaverse in that category. And then the next one would be your relational environment. So that is your friend group, your colleagues and mentors. You can put your organizational relationships in here, like your boss and your employees and your co workers. And then finally is the emotional environment, which maybe is a little less concrete, but the way I think about this is the kind of the non physical dynamics. So you know, the dynamic in your family or the dynamic in your relationship with your partner. Maybe it's the atmosphere at work. That's what I would consider the emotional environment. So now with all that, you can spend some time thinking about the roles that we talked about yesterday and the environments that you play those parts in and just see what kind of opportunities open up for you and how you approach those. That's the Integrated Life framework. We started at the center with self and moving out, we went to practices, the manifestations, roles and then environment. I would love to hear any feedback you have about the framework and and how it may apply in your life or help you think about things you want to achieve. That is the end of the 30 days next week I will actually post a video with a few reflections and just talk about what' next with the content that I'm going to be coming out with. Thanks so much. Have a great weekend. See you soon.
