Fall is a great time to prepare your studio for the busy season ahead. Here are some tips to get you ready. First, clean and organize your studio space. This will help make painting more enjoyable for your guests and bring a more professional feel to your business. Here's a pro tip. We all have that one friend who will tell it to you straight. Have them come to your studio and point out the things you don't see. That stack of junk on the floor, that ladder stored in the bathroom, and those dust bunnies in the corner. Stock up on paint and brushes and other supplies you don't want to run out of materials when it's the busiest time of the year. Plan a special promotion or event for the fall season. Encourage additional spending, not reduce spending with discounts. Do promotions like a Buy one, get one half off or Bring a friend day on a day that's not usually busy in your studio. Next up, get that website ready for the influx of traffic. Make sure your hours of operation are updated and that you have plenty of photos of your studio. Make sure those photos have people with smiling faces. They engage your viewers and promote trust. The study entitled Exploring Human Images in Website Design Across Cultures results indicate that websites with images that include facial characteristics are more positively received by their users than than images with no facial features or no human images at all. Don't forget to raise your prices. This is the perfect time to do it as people are generally more willing to spend money around the holidays. We know you don't want to do it, but if you want to be able to continue to keep the doors open and the lights on and keep helping your community create memorable experiences, raising your prices is essential. And last, do some research on what other studios are doing for the fall season. This will give you some great ideas that you can use for your own studio. The CCSA Chatterboard is a great place for this. Create a marketing plan and put it into action. Now is the time to start preparing for the busy fall season at your studio.
