EIDL: Tell The SBA You Can't Pay

24 Jan 2023 · 9 min

This is a short YouTube tutorial by Donna Genie explaining what to do if you cannot repay an SBA EIDL loan. It advises formally dissolving the business entity, filing final tax returns (marking them as final), documenting asset disposition (noting that loans over $25,000 are secured by business assets and loans over $200,000 may carry a personal guarantee), and proactively emailing the SBA Disaster Loan Servicing Center with specific loan and business details (loan date, amount, SBA loan number, legal business name, EIN, closure date, and a brief reason for closure). Contact emails for two servicing centers (Birmingham and El Paso) are provided.
