Eliminate the September Slump in Your Studio

Donna Bordeaux shares tactics to boost studio revenue in September. Convert slow inventory into events with targeted discounts like buy-one-get-a-friend-half-off and bring-a-friend nights. Have staff identify discontinued offerings to repurpose as lower-priced kids classes.

The September slump is coming up. We all know in studios that September tends to be the slowest month of the year. Everybody's back to school. They're out then, done with all their summer vacations and back to the grind now. But I'm going to tell you how to make your September a whopper of a month. And we are setting our sights on changing the industry to not have the September slump. All right, so here's my idea. You've got some slow moving stock. Stock. I know you do. I've seen it. It's gathering dust up on the top shelf. It's hanging out in your back room, taking up some space. You're thinking, someday I'm gonna figure out what to do with this. Today's that day. You're gonna take that slow moving stock. Or maybe you want to stop doing something in your studio and get rid of mosaics or painting or canvas or some other perspective. We're gonna take that and we're gonna turn it into September events. I want you to do some discounted events. And I say discounted, I don't mean cheap. I mean we're going to do a buy one, get a friend half off, bring a friend night, bring some new people into the studio. We're going to do some kids classes, get things in there a little lower price. But we are going to push up that slow moving inventory that we would have otherwise had to take a really big hit on. We're going to get that stuff moving. And I'll tell you, I have seen it over and over again. A lot of times when you do these slow mover events, all of a sudden these slow movers are fast movers. I've seen a lot of people reorder that stuff because all of a sudden it's turned into a new thing. So task your staff with finding the slow moving stuff in your studio and developing a class or an event or a place that you can use that repurpose the. The item into something different. We've all seen the bowl that you could turn upside down and make something else out of. Let's do it. Let's get the slow movers out. Let's make some money on it, and let's knock it out of the park in September. I'm Donna Bordeaux with Pyop and I want to help your studio grow out of the September swamp.
