Donna Genie (YouTube, Jan 11, 2024) offers brief, practical advice for retail business owners to invite food trucks to their location to drive foot traffic and shared publicity. She outlines promotion steps (announce on social media, put up signs), on-site engagement (send staff to greet truck customers), and incentives (special deals or drawings) to convert food-truck visitors into store customers.

People love a good food truck. I wonder if they'd love it at your place of business. If you have a retail location type of a business, even if it doesn't relate to food, you could invite a food truck to come out to your location and help publicity of that food truck being there. In exchange, you're going to get publicity. Maybe people will come to see you to get some of that food. But the mistake I see commonly is a food truck parks outside the business it operates and then you stay inside and operate your business. Make sure that if you're doing this for joint publicity purposes, you that you are taking advantage of it. So obviously you as a business owner are going to publicize that that food truck is going to be at your location from these hours on this day. You're probably going to put it out there in your social media. You may hang some signs up at your retail location. You're going to try to remind people, get them excited. You want them to come in and see that food truck. Because if they come to see the food truck, where are they going to actually be? Right at your door. So don't stay inside and not go see all those people. Send somebody outside to go talk to all the people who are at the food truck. There may be people just driving by who stop 10 to get a sandwich that you might want to talk to that may have never known that you even existed. So this is a great business idea if you have a retail location and you want to generate some foot traffic towards your business. So check out the food trucks in your area. See if there's some beneficial interest for both of you to have them come on location. Publicize the heck out of it and make sure you're taking advantage of those people. Maybe you offer a special deal that day or a drawing or something exciting to entice them to walk into your store too. Just check it out. Food trucks can be very helpful for you. Thanks. Have a good day.
