A short YouTube business-advice clip by Donna Genie suggesting retail businesses invite food trucks to their location for mutual publicity. The video explains that the host business should actively promote the event (social media, signage) and—critically—send staff outside to engage the customers at the food truck rather than staying inside, to convert traffic into new customers.

People love a good food truck and wonder if they'd love it at your place of business. If you have a retail location type of a business, even if it doesn't relate to food, you could invite a food truck to come out to your location and help publicity of that food truck being there. In exchange, you're going to get publicity. Maybe people will come to see you to get some of that food. But the mistake I see commonly is a food truck parks outside the business it operates, and then you stay inside and operate your business. Make sure that if you're doing this for joint publicity purposes, so obviously you as a business owner are going to publicize that that food truck is going to be at your location from hours on this day. You're probably going to put it out there in your social media. You may hang some signs up at your retail location. You're going to try to remind people, get them excited. You want them to come in and see that food truck. Because if they come see the food truck, where are they going to actually be? Right at your door. So don't stay inside and not go see all those people. Send somebody outside to go talk to all the people who are at the food truck. There may be people just driving by who stopped in to get a sandwich that you might want to talk to that may have never known that you even existed. So this is a great business idea if you have a retail location.
