A while back, probably somewhere near Covid, I gave up on the news. It makes me mad, so I just don't watch it. And I think in our society today, so much happens from the news that is unintended. It separates us as people. It gives us bad advice. I'm going to tell you, the news is not what it used to be, and this is no surprise to you. You know it. The news is about like the National Enquirer was 10, 15 years ago. It's just clickbait. Every day there's a new headline that has to be sensationalized to make sure people tune in. Because how does the news make money on advertising? It's slanted in every direction, it's biased, and it's fake. In a lot of cases, I've seen so much on the news that I don't believe it anymore because I know things are not true. And I think Covid taught us a lot on what we should watch and what we should believe in. So I'm here to tell you, if you're spending time during your day watching the news, take that time and go out for a walk instead. Go talk to people. I tell my husband and my son, if there's like, anything I need to know, somebody's going to tell me. You guys can tell me if there's some new story. And they'll repeatedly say, did you hear about such and such. Nope, nobody told me yet. But it didn't change my outlook. So yes, you may say I'm sticking my head in the sand, but in my reality, I'm looking at positivity. I'm not looking at negative situations that cause stress and may not even be true. If something has a direct effect on me, I'll know about it. I'll do the do my best to research whatever I need to know, but about the only thing I pay attention to is my local community. When it comes to news, I don't watch the news. Haven't watched it in probably three years now. I don't even turn on a TV if it's on someplace. I might see something. But it's been good. I don't miss it a bit. So I'd suggest if you're a business owner, you're already stressed on time. You got a lot of stresses of your own. Shut off that news and go worry about your business. Live in your own reality and take care of your own news.
