New SBA Portal to Report Business Closure

Short YouTube update (Donna Genie, May 4, 2023) about the SBA’s new loan portal replacing the former CAFS interface. The presenter explains that loans are displayed under the registrant’s name, each loan has a messaging feature with preformatted topics (first option: "business closure"), and advises users with EIDL loans on closed businesses to: (1) send a message via the new SBA loan portal selecting the Business Closure topic, and (2) also email the appropriate SBA service center (e.g., Birmingham or San Antonio/El Paso) attaching the Secretary of State articles of dissolution, since the portal currently lacks an attachment option. The update notes the portal also allows updating contact info and that SBA has no definitive pathway yet; guidance is preparatory and pragmatic.
