Donna Bordeaux of Campground Accounting explains why campground owners need a specialist CPA. Her firm attends industry events, camps at parks themselves, and helps clients optimize ad spend, set up booking systems, structure entities for tax savings, and access ADA credits that generalist accountants miss.

Hi, I'm Donna Bordeaux with campgroundaccounting.com I want to talk to you today about a question I'm often asked. Why should I work with a specialist? How will that help me? First, a couple things you need to know about us. We are CPAs. We exhibit at ARVIC each year and we are the only CPAs who exhibit. We are also members of several different state organizations and exhibit there. That allows us to really see what's going on in the industry and know what the newest things are. How we can help you grow the fastest with the best knowledge. We deal a lot with advertising and making sure that our clients are getting the biggest bang for their buck on every dollar they spend there. Making sure that you have the right reservation system in place. Online booking systems are a must in today's society and you have to have that to be able to grow effectively. Now, many campgrounds still don't have an online booking system and many are really thoroughly confused because there are so many choices. We'll help you narrow down the best fit for you and decide how that should be set up. Any structure changes that might need to happen or updates on pricing, that's what we're here for. We understand how that works. We deal also with your tax situation to make sure you get the best treatment there. So tax entity structure is always a big looming question. Or perhaps you've purchased your campground through a robs plan or 401k investment. Those happen a lot these days and we were well versed in that area. We understand what you go through on a day to day basis because we are out there in the industry doing it. We camp too. So not only do we see the management side and the operations side of a campground, but we are customers. So we see from experiences of camping all across the country what's working, what's not working. With the latest traffic trends are. So both sides of those pictures are lent into your financial situation to make sure that you get the highest end service and to make sure that you're growing your business at the best value it can be so that the day comes when you're ready to sell, you're going to get your investment back and then a whole lot more profit on top with tax returns. Also, we are looking at ADA credit credits. There are a lot of people who are looking to expand and add more sites because this is a very popular area in industry right now and the need for a bigger supply of campsites is a very big issue. So in doing those expansions we help get your financials ready so that you can get financing for those expansions. And also make sure you're able to take advantage of ADA credits in any way possible to minimize the impact of those taxes and take advantage of those credits that are available. So if you've been working with a local preparer or an accountant who maybe just does your campground and doesn't really understand, but can prepare taxes, that's a way to do it. But make sure that you're really working with a specialist who can help you grow, not just respond to the compliance needs that you have. And that's where we're here to help you. I'd love the opportunity to chat with you, see how we might be able to help you the best. I'm Donna Bordeaux with Campground Accounting. Thank you.
