Hey friends. Ryan, Daniel Moran here. Welcome back to the show. This is a fun day for me, an exciting time, although it's a little bit weird and surreal. As of right now, my book, 12 months to 1 million is hitting Amazon shelves and getting ready to be shipped out. It's my first real book that I have written and I couldn't be more proud. I could not be more excited or proud or positive about what we have created here as a community. I started this podcast back in 2013.
And I documented my experience of building an eight figure company and selling it and interviewing a bunch of you along the way and documenting a lot of your success along the way. And it was that success of all of us that got me this book deal. And I spent a year and a half putting my blood, sweat and tears into. This book I think is the best piece of content I've ever created and it is the playbook to building a seven figure business. My plan was to do a speaking tour. My plan was to be going from city to city, something that I've dreamed of doing for years. Around the time of this book launch, of going and meeting all of you, congratulating you, hopefully saying a few things that would inspire you on your journey and helping you overcome the hurdles that come with becoming an entrepreneur and all of the mindset and self discovery and hard decisions and losing money and managing big wins and the envy of others and all the stuff that comes with success or being on a path to success even if you haven't hit pay dirt yet. And I envision meeting all of you and hanging out with you and hugging all of you and traveling all over the country as I did a speaking book tour. And obviously with the world in the situation that it is, that won't be happening anytime soon. I envisioned having masterminds for people who bought 500 copies or a thousand copies of my book. I even had it set on my book launch page that there was an option to buy a certain number of books and I'd fly you to Austin for a one on one where we deconstruct your business and help you build a million dollar business or help you build go from 1 million to 10 million, you know, oh my goodness, can you imagine? It'd be so much fun to get in front of a whiteboard with those of you who have a cool idea that you just can't wait to get out of you, but you can't see the path. And to be able to look you in the eye and basically guarantee that if we do a Few things, well, that we can build a seven figure business. And then for me to be able to say, I'll bring in this person to help you promote it. And I know this person who would fund it. Like we could do so we would have so much fun working on a plan to get you to your seven figure, even mid seven figure a year business. And it would be so, so fun and easy and we'd get together for steak and wine afterwards. It'd be great. And so I was going to make that an option. If somebody bought a certain number of books, I think the equivalent amount of spend would have ended up being like five grand, you know, so for five grand in books, somebody could come and we'd map out their entire business for the next year. Like I was going to go all in on this. And now some of those things are not as available because it's harder to see each other face to face. And so there will be no book tour at this point. There will be no hugging in person, at least for a while. I hope that means that it's gonna be all the sweeter when it becomes time for just to do that instead. There might be late night reading parties on Instagram or Facebook. There might be me dropping more stuff on the podcast about the book than I had originally planned to do. It might mean me, might mean me doing more wine with Winans at night with us talking about your business. But nothing has changed in terms of how proud I am of what we have done together as a community or what is in this book and the confidence that I have that a few of you are listening to this right now, a few of us are listening to this right now. And you have this vision for yourself and your business and your life and it's different than what you're living right now. And you have this version of your life where you have this exciting business that you wake up pumped to build every day and that you wake up every day thrilled and nervous about what's gonna happen that day. And that you excitedly build out each step of the process where your sales go up a little bit every week and every month until you have a business that you're really proud of and not just one that pays the bills, although there's value to that too. But I mean, a business that makes you feel really proud, as proud as I am of this book, I know you want to be as proud of your business. I know you want to have a type of product and a brand and a company that you feel really excited about. You know, I have experienced many times in my life where I felt like I had to sell something really hard. And that was never fun, that was never exciting. I never looked forward to it. And I realize now that that was. I was doing something for the result and not for the process. That I was selling something because I wanted the money, not because I was excited about the product. That I was seeing the other person as the one who had my money rather than the person that I knew I had to serve. And it's a very different energy when you just know you've got the goods and people are gonna show up to it because you're so confident that what you have is going to make a difference in someone's life. And that's real freedom. When you can wake up knowing that you have something that is a service to other people and it would be disrespectful of you not to tell them about it. And that's how I feel about this book. Because I have the Playbook to give someone who is a new entrepreneur or someone who has built a business on shaky sand and they want to build something that is real and something that can be scaled and maybe even sold one day. This is the Playbook to make that happen. On the COVID I feel so proud. Gary Vaynerchuk has a quote. His entire quote was as douchey as this title is, I'm confident that it will inspire a new kind of entrepreneur. That had to be slightly edited by the publisher. The whole quote is in the book, but the COVID has a modified version of it. This has a quote from Susie Batiz on the back and the forward is written by Russell Brunson. And to look at just that lineup of people to even say, yeah, it's a good book is a, is a just a prideful moment for me. I want to walk you through the bones of this book. So if you, if you can't buy it or you don't buy it or you refuse to buy on Amazon, if you want to torrent it, if you want to get it from the library, if you want to steal it, don't steal it. That's. This is not endorsed by capitalism.com but if, if I know it's very anti capitalist to go torrent something, but if you want to do it for my book, I am so confident that this is going to have a meaningful impact in your life that I just want you to get it. So we might end up reading certain sections here on the podcast or something, but there's a few things that I want to highlight that are from this book that will help you regardless of if you get it or not. And there's just a few insights that I want to share with you. The first is I think a lot of you overestimate how many people it takes to have a million dollar business. You do not need to have.
1,000 customers a day. You do not need to have a product that ranks number one on Amazon. You don't need to have an ad that goes viral like Tai Lopez or Dollar Shave Club. Those things happen and those things are great moments for those businesses and those people. But you don't need that to have a really successful business. You need only a handful of people who really give a crap about what you are doing to do a lot of good in this world. I've given the formula 100 times and it's one of the foundations of this book. If you have four products that sell 25 sales a day at a $30 price point, that's 100 products at 30 bucks $3,000 a day that ends up being like 1.156 something million dollars a year. That's enough. That's at least enough for you to be a full time entrepreneur at a 20% profit margin. It's enough for you to have a six figure income. 20. Doing a business that's really exciting to you. Now here's the key here ladies and germs. You don't need 25 new people a day. You just need 25 people who really care. 25 people that you've served well and that your product is a perfect fit for a group of people that you care about enough to make a great product for them to speak exactly how they want to be spoken to. People that are excited enough about your product that they leave a review voluntarily so you can screenshot that and put that on social media so that more people follow suit. People who write in thanking you for standing for something so you can screen capture that and use it as an ad. People who are excited enough about the quality of the product that they voluntarily send you thank you videos that then become retargeting ads for all the people who didn't buy from your website. This is how you build a real exciting brand. By going all in on a small and by small I mean it can be a few hundred people. This is another big aha for a lot of you that you don't even need a list of 10,000 people or a social insta, social Instagram, a social media following of 5,000 people. You need a Few hundred people to really be excited about something in order to have a successful launch of a business. I mean, I've given the example a couple times where if you've got 100 to 500 people ready on launch day and you come out of the gate with 200 sales and then half of those people end up leaving reviews, you end up crushing most of the people that are trying to compete with you. With a few hundred people, how do you get a few hundred people? By documenting the development of the product or the business. What does that mean? That means that you take a video of yourself at your manufacturer or emailing with your manufacturer saying, I'm deciding between this and this. And I think I'm going to go in this direction because. And then you explain why if your content and your product is for a very specific group, they will see that as a service. Let's say that you are targeting new dads because I'm a new dad for the second time, and if I was making a product for new dads, my messaging would be very different than if I was targeting new moms. Let's say I'm doing a stroller, right? I'm making a new stroller for new dads. Well, as a dad, I sometimes get frustrated with what I think are the most complex machines that any human being has ever made. And women are like, oh, it's simple. You just press this button and then you turn around and you lift it from here, and then you fold it and then you sing a song and, okay, all I want to do is be able to put my baby in the car so I can go for a walk and listen to a podcast while this baby goes to fricking sleep. So let's say I'm making a stroller. I'm going to look at the camera and be like, hey, so I'm making this stroller right now. Our new brand is called dad dad Camp. And, you know, I was given two options for this stroller. One cost a few bucks more, but I was able to eliminate that annoying. That annoying flap that you've got to hold when you fold the stroller down. You just hit this button, use your foot pedal to fold it. Or I could go with a more with a cheaper option that was a little bit more complicated. Now, the reason I might do that is because there's 19 guys who see that video and are like, oh, thank God someone understands me. And they end up sharing it in their dad's Facebook group and say, hey, has anybody ever heard of this? Does anybody buy this. And now that group of 5,000 people is all being like, no, I've never heard of this stroller before. Where do I get it? Guess what? You just built an audience. You just did a launch. That was it. And then that product becomes the thing that sells 25 sales a day, which ends up being the fuel for the brand to get the next product that sells 25 sales a day until you're at a million dollars, 100 sales a day, doing a million dollars. I've done some podcasts with people who have large followings and you know, it's interesting. Listen to this. This is so important. There's a bunch of what you might consider influencers, people who have large email lists or large social media followings. They feel really paralyzed at the product selection point because they're trying to hit too big of a market. They've got a hundred thousand people who follow them and so they feel like they have to make a product that is for all 100,000 people. They feel like it has to match the brand that they've built as a person. And that's a mistake because you don't need 100,000 people to build a million dollar business. You need a few hundred people. So if you are just starting this game, if you are just beginning your journey as an entrepreneur, if you are just setting out on the quest to build a seven figure business, you do not need to wait until you've got 100,000 people on an email list or following you on social media. And you don't even need to have a partner partner who does. If you do those things, it can make you move faster, but you don't need them. You also don't need to have $100,000 in capital. You need like 5. And if you do all the stuff that we talk about doing here on the podcast and in the book, then you can kick start that or go get an investor who will then come back your business. You know, you realize that's what we do. Inside of Million Dollar Brands, this is the most overlooked thing that I do. I have this product called Million Dollar Brands. I don't even know the URL. Hey Chris, we should do something about that. Inez. Theresa, we should probably fix that. I think it's capitalism.com brands and this is a course about identifying what your three to five products should be so that you can roll out your launch plan. And when someone completes that, as of right now, we might not do this forever, but as of right now, if somebody completes that, they get their money back and Then what we do every once in a while, we just finished a round of this is we pick a few winners and we than the $5,000 in startup capital.
And why do we do that? A. Because I really want to be a part of these really cool entrepreneur success stories and be that $5,000 in capital is really all they need. So it gives us really cool success stories, but it also just gives them permission to go.
It's all you need is a few hundred people, a little bit of capital and just a clear vision to move this forward. That's how you're gonna build a seven figure business.
That is this book in 15 minutes. This book is the clear playbook to building a business that lasts, that hits seven figures and that is really, really exciting. That gets you up out of bed in the morning. In a future podcast, I'm gonna go through one specific chapter in this book. That is what I wish someone had told me before I started this journey. Because after coming through the, you know, zero to a million and then to 10 million, having an exit, selling a couple companies advising really through my podcast, tens of thousands of people but you know, more personally advising a few hundred entrepreneurs on their journey, there's a few things that I discovered along the way that I wish that I had known earlier. And so in a future podcast we're gonna do a lesson all about that. Just the things that I wish that I had known along the way before I began this journey. I wanna leave you with one more kind of nugget and that is everything is so much easier in this business. And I mean any business, this is not just a physical products brand. Any business is so, so, so much clearer and easier when you've got a very clear who behind it. Who is the answer to everything? What product should I sell or who am I selling to? Who's my person? If you say I want to sell strollers versus I'm going to sell to new dads, one makes you a stroller business. The other is a business that lasts because there's always going to be new dads who are always going to have new needs, who are always, who are always going to be buying things and navigating a new journey the best. Who in my mind is to choose and serve the person that is starting a new journey? This is a mistake I've made in my own life. You know, here on if you followed me for a long time, you might have seen the podcast name change a few times. You might have seen me share the highs and lows and the confusion and lack of clarity and the excitedness. But when I know that my market is entrepreneurs who are starting a new journey, it's so easy for me to speak to that talking point. In fact, it's so easy, it's probably the reason that I overlook it so much. It's so clear to me that I don't have to think hard about serving that person. That's why I'm able to do this podcast with no notes and no preparation. I'm just chatting with you right now. Now, the same is true. That's my own life. But the same thing is true when you are building a physical products, brand or any business. Because the decisions that we make about what our product is gonna be or what our branding is gonna be, well, those decisions aren't really for us. They're for someone else. They're for the person that our business exists to serve. That's all that business is. Business is just a an organized collection of systems to help a specific person on their journey. So that's what you're doing when you're building a million dollar business. You're picking one specific person, new dads, and then you're selecting two to four products to start that are going to help that person through their journey. A stroller, a community.
Non alcoholic beer, coffee, right. These are all things that you might consume as a new dad. And I'm just making stuff up. But if you're a new dad, the things that you notice that people buy, you know, look at that stroller, look at this noise machine. Oh, do you know that this, that this crib rocks itself? There is something like that. It's called the snoo. And as soon as I saw it, I was like, that's a good business idea. Anyway, when you can identify who that person is and the journey they're on, deciding what products to sell becomes really, really simple and easy. And then your only job is to go speak to that person. And you do that by building community by documenting your process, by talking about the journey, by speaking exactly to that person publicly until you have a few hundred of them that pay attention. When you release your first product, that group of people will support it. And if you've done a good job of creating connection with them, they will buy it. And guess what happens then? A few of them will leave reviews and you'll screenshot them and you'll put them on social media. A few of them will reach out to you and you will ask them how you can serve them and they will tell you that they're looking to invest in something and that they have a social media following of 10,000 people and they're gonna post about you. And then the snowball keeps on building. And then you end up launching product number two. And that same group of people comes back and buys that. And that goes to 25 sales a day too. And before you know it, it's been eight months and you're selling $75,000 a month. And the million is in sight because you still have time left in the year and you still have a clear path to building a seven figure business. Now, I know some of you might be listening to this and say, that sounds great, but the world has changed now. And I'm here to tell you that all that has changed is that the timeline has sped up. You haven't missed the boat. The timeline has sped up. We now have more buyers for the Internet. We now have more brands who are struggling that might be looking to acquire small brands like yours over the next few years. We now have more money looking for a home because it's not going to the stock market, it's not going to real estate. It needs to go somewhere. And an exciting business would be a great place to put some money, especially if they believe in the business and the entrepreneur who is running it. There's now more influencers looking to be compensated in some way. So sponsorships and partnerships are going to be cheaper than ever.
There's more people looking to be served in unique ways. We're just starting to get the Internet in third world countries. We are still at the beginning of this game. So if you were starting a new journey, you haven't missed the boat. Or if you're operating a business that you're not excited about, it is not too late to pivot. You do not have to keep running a crappy $100,000 a month business just because you think you have to. You can build something that you actually enjoy and it will be easier than the business that you thought you had to do. Do you realize how powerful it is to be all in on the business that you are building? Because you believe in it, because you are doing something that you believe matters. Because you have a clear person that you are serving that has other connections that they want to bring to the table? And your product is so good and your brand is so on point that those people can't help but buy from you and bring their friends with them. That's an exciting business.
And I'm going out on a new journey too. My new journey is empowering. Those entrepreneurs who create change, to have a clear plan forward and having the funding and having the consulting and having the experiences and the connections to be able to empower that person. Because it's so much fun to be in business with people who are on a clear plan to serve other people, people who have taken ownership for a problem, created a solution to that problem, and are in full blown service to the customer. It's so dull and boring to build a business because you think it's just gonna profit.
It's so done. But building a business has a sincere impact on someone else. Those are the businesses that go to seven and eight figures and they do it predictably and they do it sustainably and they do it quickly. And that's the person that I want to empower. So if you're going on that journey, I'm so glad to have you listen to the podcast. If you're willing, go grab a copy of the book. It's capitalism.com book. There's some stuff on there about the book. Or you can just go grab it on Amazon if you have a podcast, if you have a YouTube channel, if you have an email list, if you have a book blog, if you have a large Facebook group that would like this book. And actually, I didn't plan to do this when I started doing the podcast. I'm still going to make this offer. I'm still going to do this. If you go, this is fun. I just decided to do this on the fly. If you go over to capitalism.com book, there are a couple options to buy in bulk, and I'm still going to make it available that if you take the top option, if you buy a decent number of books, I'm gonna give you the option for us to either spend a day together on Zoom going through your business plan, maybe we'll carve out three, three hours, maybe four hours, and we'll carve out a specific plan to take your business to seven figures. If you're already at seven figures, you know, we'll add another seven figures to your business and I'll even make my network available. I'll make any partnerships that I think would be beneficial to both you and them. I'll bring those to the table. And I might be interested in investing, I might be interested in having on the podcast and documenting your experience and that'll give you an audience.
What else? I'll just roll out all the stops in terms of if my fund is interested, if I'm interested as a personal investor, if I know anybody who'd be interested in promoting it. I'll just make that available to you. So if you go with the top tier option on capitalism.com book and you buy a certain number of books, I think the equivalent ends up being five grand. So for five grand I'll work with you in person either on Zoom or if you want to come to Austin and spend a day together.
We might have to wait until all the dust settles in order to make that happen. Depends on how risky you're feeling. But we'll still do that. I'll still do the one on one with you and map out your plan to have a million dollar business. All you got to do is buy a buy some books. I think that's an irresistible offer. So if you have an audience and your audience would benefit from this adventure, I'd love to hear from you. You can shoot me a message. Ryanapitalism.com you can make me an offer or you can just buy the book yourself on Amazon or capitalism.com book hey, I love you guys. You know, I really believe in you. I really believe that you know enough, that you are enough that you will make a difference in your life and that you already make a difference, that you already matter and that having a business is just the next journey for you and that growing a seven figure business that you can sell is just the next step of the journey for you. I'm proud of you and I'm proud of what we've done as a community. Hundreds of people have told me privately that my work helped them build a seven figure business and I think it's going to go into the thousands after this book. Thanks for listening to the show. Thank you for your support. You mean the world to me. I'll see you on the next episode. Take care.
