Ryan Daniel Moran predicts Amazon will consolidate within 8-12 months as larger brands enter and review fraud tightens. He argues sellers need a brand with 3-5 complementary products, not just white-label items. Two emerging opportunities: software tools for sellers and agencies charging $1,000+/month to manage Amazon marketing.

Ryan Daniel Moran here with Freedom Fast Lane. And today I'm really excited to share with you what I have to share with you today because I've been, I've been tossing this around in my brain for quite some time now. I am going to be making some predictions about the future. Look, in the last year or so, there has been an incredible amount of buzz around starting abusiness on Amazon.com Heck, I did it. I've been one of maybe the loudest supporters for it. And as far as I know, I'm the only person talking about it publicly in a podcast for free about how to do it, how to do it step by step and what has taken our business to the multi level level, multi million dollar level where some people just die off early. So today I'm going to be talking a little bit about where things are going next because I think that there are some major changes.
This, this marketplace, because I don't even think Amazon predicted the wave of entrepreneurship of marketers going to its channel. We're marketers, which, as Gary Vaynerchuk puts it, we ruin everything. And as a result, changes have to happen. It's inevitable for big changes to come. And I want to be talking a little bit about what those changes will look like. And I want to answer the question of what the heck happens when 10,000 people, 100,000 people come onto Amazon as new entrepreneurs and start trying to sell things. What is the inevitable, what's the inevitable result of all these new entrepreneurs going to Amazon? Now look, I have been a proponent of Amazon for over a year. I have built a business that is now on pace to do about $3 million this year in revenue with more than 50% profit margins. And two other businesses that combined might flirt with a million dollars.
In revenue in a year.
The reason I'm having this conversation with Jay is because I consider myself far ahead of the curve and I think I can see where things are going. And I want to give a heads up to those of you who are selling on Amazon or thinking about Amazon about where things are going, because I think there are some common misconceptions about Amazon, especially if you are a new entrepreneur and if you're already on Amazon, you better be ready for some changes that I think are coming.
Pretty soon. Actually, we have to understand before we go into this what Amazon is there for and what they sought out to do when they started as a company. Amazon, up until what, a year ago when all this big wave of entrepreneurship started on Amazon, really about a year and a Half ago the Amazon was a storefront for people to sell big brands. People did a lot of dropshipping on Amazon. It wasn't this place where you would go and kick off a business. It was a place where you went and you had a store and you had a bunch of different companies products that you were wholesaling from them and you were selling them on Amazon and people were reviewing them, peer reviewing them, which is how the Amazon review system came about. Now a lot of this has changed as we have moved away from big brands to individual entrepreneurs creating products and selling them on Amazon. That, that has been the new trend ever since people started talking about building a business on Amazon. And guess what? I'm one of those people and I have lots of successful students. Who are those people? Here is, here is why I am so successful on Amazon and why my students are so successful on Amazon. Because Amazon is a fantastic channel for buyers. It's one of the best I've ever seen. It might be the best that we ever see in our lifetime as of right now. As far as people going to a place to buy, they don't go there to research, they don't go there to do anything except buy. And as a result, it's a buyer's channel. But Amazon didn't set out to be a channel for new businesses. They set out to be a channel for storefronts and they set out to be a place where people could come in and wholesale products of existing big brands. That's what Amazon originally sought out to do. And in the last 18 months there has been a big surge of the opposite. No more storefronts. Although they still exist. You can still make plenty of money doing that. And there's plenty of, plenty of good businesses who do exactly that. Source products, hold them in Amazon and then sell them at a profit. That's awesome. That's great. I was just speaking with somebody considering joining my mastermind who is on pace to do over well over a million dollars doing exactly that on Amazon. But now it's switching to entrepreneurs selling their own products, usually white labeled products that are really easy to wholesale, putting them on Amazon.com now that is great. It's been an awesome channel up until now. But there are some changes going on in the marketplace that you need to be aware of that I'm going to address now. Look, I never sought out to be the Amazon guy. I don't want to be the Amazon guy. I don't want to be an Amazon guru. I don't want to be pigeonholed into a specific type of business model. But this is very important that I hit right now. This is very timely because of the big wave that is happening right now. And, and I want you to be aware of we're taking our business in light of changes that I think are coming. But again I, I, I don't have inside knowledge into Amazon. I don't want to be the Amazon guru and we will see if these predictions are correct, but I feel fairly confident in them. Alright, so you know, here's the model that most new Amazon entrepreneurs follow. It looks like this. You find a market, you find a product, you find where there is easy competition. You go out and wholesale that from somebody in China or a state based supplier, you slap your own label on it, you zip it over to Amazon and you try to rank for keywords that you see as easy to rank for. That model is going away.
That model is going. I digress. I should not say that it's getting harder. It's gonna continue to get harder and harder and harder. And I'll explain why in, in a second. You see when Amazon opened up fulfilled by Amazon, when they opened up this channel where basically as most of you know, what Amazon does is they have fulfillment centers all over the country so you can send product to Amazon, they'll store it, they'll pack it, they'll ship it, they'll do everything and then when somebody places an order, they ship it out to the customer and they write you a check. It's the most hands off passive business I've ever seen in my life. I make more money and work less as a result of being on Amazon, as a result of using fulfilled by Amazon than I have ever made in my business. And it has only ever grown month over month. It has been a wonderful experience. But if you think that selling on Amazon comes down to finding loopholes or finding niche markets and wholesaling them and, and then sending them over to Amazon, that might have been okay a year and a half ago. But that is getting harder and harder and harder and harder. That is going to continue to get harder as the major market consolidation and that's probably going to happen about eight to 10 months from right now. Right now as I'm recording this, it's September of 2014. So at about September of 2015 you're going to see a major market consolidation. I'll explain to that, I'll explain what that means in a second. But first I'm not trying to be all doom and gloom that like the world is falling or Anything? No, actually what I'm. Here's what I want you to get from this. There's thousands and thousands of Amazon entrepreneurs entering the marketplace right now. Thousands of them and 90% of them are looking for small little markets where there's not a lot of competition and there is a cheap product they can wholesale and they're sending it over to Amazon. That's not gonna cut it anymore. It's just, is not gonna, it's not gonna cut it. Not because buying low and selling high doesn't work, but because you've got thousands of people with short term thinking on their brain. So what's the antithesis? How do we fix that? It's very simple. You need to enter if you're going to start a business on Amazon, which I feel like a broken record. But again, Amazon did not set out to be the catalyst for a bunch of small businesses. Though they love the volume, they'll take the volume, but they are not, they're not out for the little guy.
Amazon did not open fulfilled by Amazon in order to help out the little guy. They opened up fulfilled by Amazon in order to encourage more storefronts and more people to sell existing brand products out there. That's what they sought out to do. Now they'll take the volume. If a business wants to come in and fulfill a need and start marketing well, they'll welcome that, they'll treat you well. But they're not. Amazon doesn't exist for the little guy. They exist for existing proven brands and they want to be the storefront where people come to buy those things. So if you want to succeed on Amazon in 2014 and 2015 and, and I would have told the person who started a business in 2013 that they needed to keep this in mind. Because I've kept this in mind. It has made a big difference in our sustainability and our growth, is that you need to enter into this business with a brand in mind. Not a product in mind, but a brand in mind. This is why I say over and over and over again that when you're starting a business, and this applies to any business in the world, but it's very timely and relevant right now to people who are selling on Amazon. A business is not a product and I would never recommend going into an industry or a business where you could not have repeat customers, where you could not have products that where the customers would want to buy something else as well. Makes no sense to me at all. If you do not go into a business where you have a brand in mind, then you should not go into that market if you cannot list at least three to five products off the bat. When you're starting a business that you want to sell that are complementary with one another, you're in the wrong market. And this exists for any business in the world. Okay, this is not exclusive to Amazon. I would say this to any business, but it's extremely timely for people who are thinking about selling on Amazon or have started to sell on Amazon. When I see people say I'm not succeeding on Amazon, I usually go to the market that they're going after and I say, is this something that has a target market who would want to come back from you and buy something else from you in the future? And most of the time the answer is no. If you're trying to sell an average widget without there being other complementary products for that marketplace, you're going after it incorrectly. You're going after this trying to be opportunistic rather than entrepreneurial. It's very different to try and look for a hole in a market and say, ah, this looks easy, let's do this. That can work for a while, that can be profitable for a while. But if you don't go into it with a brand in mind, saying, we are going to build a line of products that all serve the same market and we're going to have a bigger vision than just Amazon and just this one product. If you don't have that in mind, then you're dead before you begin. This is especially true now because there were reaching tipping point where consolidation happens. Now, I keep using this word, consolidation. What do I mean by consolidation? Well, listen, consolidation is a process that happens in every single marketplace. It happens in every single channel, happens in every single industry. And it is when the big people take over the little people. It is when the people who have money to spend. It is when people who market themselves correctly, it's people who have a rabid customer base start to eat the people who aren't doing so well. I don't mean I'm using colorful language in order to belabor a point this. I'm not doom and gloom on Amazon by any means. I think, I still think we are in the wide open west right now. And I'll clarify what I'm going after in a second. But I need you to realize, look in the horizon and in my opinion that it's, in my opinion that it's about 12 or probably a little less like 8 to 12 months. Just since it's September, since it's September 2014. I'll just call it now. A year from now we'll be in a major market consolidation. We will have, we have reached tipping point where it is much more difficult to start a business just on Amazon. To start a business. It will be more difficult. So a market consolidation is when the big brands take over. It's when it's harder to compete.
As a little guy. Not impossible, but much more difficult. If you think about the local marketing industry, five years ago there was a major trend. One of my good buddies, Kevin Wilkie, hey Kevin, if you're listening. Taught people how to do local marketing and have local clients that would pay you several thousand dollars to help them with their marketing. A fantastic business model and lots of people, thousands of people made full time incomes and still do. They still do extremely well as a result of having clients that pay them a few thousand dollars a pop per month and they do some marketing for them. It's been a fantastic opportunity, fantastic business for people. And five, six years ago it was really, really easy to do. It was so easy to do because doing marketing for a company on the Internet was a wide open west. Nobody knew how to do it. If you knew how to do it, you could come in and charge people a whole bunch of money for it. Well, today it's not impossible, but it's a lot harder to start out in that business. It's if you are in the business, if you, it's a lot easier because you're ahead of the curve, you have certain tools, you have an existing client base, you know the strategies that work, you have your systems in place, your overhead is down. If you're starting out though, it's just, it's way harder to compete because you don't have unique value in the marketplace anymore because there are so many local marketers. So the people who are really successful as local marketers have some sort of unique value that they are bringing to the marketplace. Whether it be their sales process or the way that they can get people ranked on Google or just the amount of volume that they can push to their local business clients. Well, today it's a lot harder, although not impossible, to compete in that industry.
The same thing is going to be happening in Amazon. In fact, it's already started to happen and in a year from now it'll be at maturation, which basically means that it's not impossible, but it's harder to start this type of a business. Right now we're still in the wide open west. It's still insanely stupid, easy to start a business and to use Amazon as the catalyst to get it profitable. Stupid easy. It's not going to be like that forever. So this is, this is my way of telling you that you've got about 10 months, I mean short, I mean, you've got about six months to get going. You've got about six months to go, excuse me, balls to the wall. To have a profitable business on Amazon before the wave crashes. By wave crashes, I mean wide open. West closes and the people who are in the business are going to be ruling the business.
So if this is an industry that you're in, hustle for the next six months, the next 10 months. Because if you put in work right now, in a year from now, it will be very hard to take you down. In a year from now, it will be much more difficult for the wave of competition to take you out.
That is my prediction for Amazon, that a major market consolidation is coming where the big brands rule. It's harder for the small guys to compete.
And if you're in in early and we're still like on the, on the climb up, if you're in before maturation, you can hack it. You can have a business that is around for years and years and years. If you try to come in later, it's going to be much more difficult. Now, why do I make this prediction and why am I so passionate about this? Well, we can see a couple of things happening.
That are making it very clear what's about to happen. And they are the following.
We've been talking a little bit about how Amazon existed to be a storefront. So before it was mostly independent storefronts selling on Amazon. Now it's this huge wave of entrepreneurial companies, which is great, that's fine. It's just not what Amazon expected.
So as a result, you have a whole bunch of biased reviews coming out. So if a store is selling a product that they didn't invent.
And.
They don't have any incentive for people to say nice things about it, how protective are they going to be of their reviews? Not so much. Right. How aggressive are they going to be in recruiting reviews for a product? Let me put it another way. Amazon existed to have 10 companies selling the same product. If you. There's, I don't know, is there a big brand of spatulas? I don't know. But if Amazon, what Amazon sought out to do was to have a storefront of 10 different people selling.
Popular spatulas and competing on price and for the community to be writing reviews about those products in order to get a communal review for how good the product was. And. And if the product reviews were nasty, well, then companies would stop selling those products. They'd go on to selling whatever was hot. That's what Amazon sought out to do. Well, today it's a bunch of individual entrepreneurs selling their own products that they're tied to. So they're being extremely, I should say we are being extremely protective of our reviews. Now, this has its benefits. For example, our customer service is the best you've ever seen on Amazon. We are obsessed with customer service because we know that they could go out and say nasty things about us and it could kill our business.
So we provide awesome, awesome customer service, very liberal customer service in terms of if you're unhappy, we'll send you free product, we will refund you, we will send you our other products, we'll refund you and send you our products, whatever it takes to make you happy. And Amazon is going to love that, obviously, because they're out to provide a great customer experience. Here's where it's nasty. You have basically inflated reviews for a bunch of products because people will do anything it takes to get a good review. And then you also have.
Brands like some of my competitors leaving fake, negative reviews on listings. So the trust in the review system is going down.
And at some point, Amazon is too big of a company not to address this.
So two things are going to happen. One, there are going to be changes in the review system. And two, because we have ownership of our reviews now, meaning we take our reviews very, very seriously. For example, my yoga company, Zen ActiveSports, at the time of this recording, our yoga mat has about 250 reviews. Do you think we would not have gotten. Do you think we would have gotten 250 reviews in a short amount of time with relatively low volume? Do you think we would have done that if we weren't actively trying to get them? No, of course not. And there's thousands of other people like me who are trying desperately to get as many reviews as possible. And you do this through launches and giveaways and advertisements on Facebook and Austin customer service and all the stuff we've talked about on Freedom Fastlane. But because we've been so aggressive and because there's so many people doing this and trying to get reviews, the average number of reviews for product is going up astronomically. So as a year and a half ago, if you looked at a product, it might have had 100 reviews. Now you could look for a product and the average could have 500 to 1,000 reviews, and that's only going up. So that's the first part of the consolidation. The first part of the consolidation is big brands owning reviews and making a lot more difficult for smaller people to come in and compete. The second reason is because Amazon is going to get their stuff together. They're finally going to get its head together. They're going to crack down on fraud, they are going to be much more protective of who they allow in. There's going to be a bit of a weeding process. And we're already starting to see this happen in the health and beauty section on Amazon, where you have to basically prove that you're legit. I think that's going to get more strict as we go forward.
Now, again, in a year from now. Could you build from scratch a business in a competitive industry that had products with thousands of reviews and going through a vetting process on Amazon? Yes, absolutely. And we're going to talk about a little bit how to do that here, coming in a few minutes. But my takeaway that I want you to get here is that there's consolidation happening, which is going to basically protect those people who are in now and make it harder for people to get in later. So if this is a business that you're thinking about, yesterday was the best time to get in, today is the second best time to get in.
And if you wait a year.
It'S gonna be harder. Here's the next part of the consolidation that's happening. Amazon is growing and it's growing and it's growing and it's growing. And because of the amazing amounts of volume that currently exists on Amazon.com right now, big companies that are not on Amazon are going to start to turn their attentions toward Amazon. So you're going to have big fish start to come in and own their marketplace, own their market share. It's going to happen. Big companies are finally going to go, wow, we have a lot of volume on Amazon. We should probably have people heading up this as a department. And they will. And as a result, you'll have a lot of big companies moving to Amazon. And what that brings is a lot of dollars, advertising dollars and customer service dollars and marketing firepower in order to make big brands stand out and little guys fight to compete. That, however, is also going to open up some new opportunities, because what is going to happen is that as big brands move on to Amazon, Amazon is going to want to take their advertising dollars, so they're going to open up new channels to, hopefully everyone. It might initially be Just big brands, but eventually, probably to everyone, new marketing and advertising opportunities through Amazon.com I think you are going to see Amazon roll out its own advertising platform. Kind of like Google Display or Google, Google's search network where you can run an ad on Google but it doesn't look like it's on Google, it looks like it's on somebody else's site. I think you're gonna start to see that on Amazon where Amazon is gonna roll out their own pay per click platform and they're gonna take all of their customer data that they have, target people by demographic and then basically have just oodles and oodles of traffic that you can advertise to. I'm getting very markety on you and if you're not an entrepreneur and you're listening to this, your head must be ready to explode. So forgive me.
But this, I think this is what is going to happen on Amazon.com so let's recap a bit. There's a major consolidation coming. What that means is that brands that are currently on Amazon are going to own the market. It also means that new brands are going to come in. It also means that Amazon is gonna get their you know what together. They're gonna cut down on fraud and they're gonna open up new advertising channels to people who are already there. Keyword, already there. I'm saying this because if you listen to Freedom Fastlane, I want you to be successful. It's why I'm an open book about our businesses. But if you want to get in a year from now, there's probably gonna be other opportunities for you to look at that are not Amazon related. It's probably not the industry that you're gonna want to go into. I could be wrong. There is the chance.
This is rare in business, but it does happen. There is the chance that as a result of big brands coming in, Amazon makes some changes that actually favor, that actually favor new people to come in. I don't think that's what's going to happen. I think they're going to focus on the big brands that are making them all the money. And when you are that brand, when you are a big fish on Amazon, and when I say big fish, I don't mean a multi million dollar business. I mean you have a line of 5 to 8, 10 products and you're selling $50,000 worth of or more per month, which is basically it's still a small business that could be run by one person, but it's going to be harder to get to that level to the $51,200,000 a month level. It's going to be harder to get there if you wait a year from now. But if you can get to like the $50,000 a month level on Amazon now, when this consolidation happens, you may just be big enough to be protected. You may just be big enough to weather the storm. You might be, you might go through the major consolidation that happens. The whole point is to say get in now if this is a business that you want to be in.
However, I'm going to make two more predictions for Amazon. Amazon and I started predicting these actually about six months ago and they're starting to happen and they're this, there's two new industries that are going to come out of this. This always happens, especially in marketing and entrepreneurship. There's going to be a new industry that is going to be software for Amazon Sellers. Man, if I, if, if you are a programmer, the business to be in.
2015 is going to be software for Amazon Sellers. My goodness. Is going to be an incredible opportunity.
If you have a programming company, I am telling you now, you can buy me dinner later. If you're a programmer and you're looking to start a business, the industry to be in would be creating software for Amazon Sellers. Here's a few things that you could think about. You could create a piece of software that tracked certain keywords where sales were coming from and new opportunities for you to focus on. You also could focus something with reviews. If you could track sales and somehow find a way to identify the customers most likely to leave reviews. Or if you're able to find people who are reviewing similar products.
I'm just telling you right now, the only company that I know that's doing a good job is a company called Stitch Labs. They have a bunch of Amazon related tools, but they're the only company I know that's doing a good job. If you're a programmer and you're looking to start a business, that is the business that I would be in. Here is the second opportunity that is going to exist for probably another 18 to 20, 24 months. This is a, this is a really strong one. And that is not starting an Amazon business per se, but taking on Amazon clients.
There is, there are thousands and thousands of people trying to sell on Amazon right now that have no idea what the heck they're doing. If you have any marketing chops at all, there's a major opportunity for you to take on Amazon clients and charge $1,000 a month or so to help people market on Amazon.
It's an incredible opportunity. I helped someone start a business and in three days we had three or four clients for this person, they had a full time business.
There's a window here, just like with taking on local clients like we talked about before, there's a window here where it's wide open west and getting clients is going to be really easy, especially if you have some sort of unique value that you can bring in. Like I'm really, really good at getting reviews or I'm really, really good at ranking for keywords. If you focus on that, you can start an entire business helping Amazon sellers with that specific outcome.
That, that is a major opportunity right now and that is going to get bigger as the consolidation nears. In fact, it might even get bigger after the consolidation happens because you have more competition for keywords and brands. So taking on clients at even $1,000 a month, this is good news for you. If you have tried to start an Amazon business but you're not getting the results that you want, well, guess what, you've probably learned a bunch that you could take to someone else and have them pay you on a monthly basis for it. You can buy me dinner later when you do that. Alright, I want to recap before I go into the final part of this. There is a big consolidation coming. September 2015, we'll say is the target. It's not going to be, it's not going to be some lightning in the sky that happens. You're just going to turn around and go, man, I remember when this was easy. And it ain't easy anymore. It's not easy to just start, start a new line on Amazon and get it to rank. But those of you who are thinking about it and that get in now, you're gonna look back a year from now and go, wow, that was easy. And no one's touching me right now. If you get in now, if you get in before, it's harder. It's gonna be really easy for you and in 12 months it won't be impossible. Some might not even say it's hard to get on Amazon. The difference is going to be that the people who can spend the most and wait the most win. I heard a great quote recently that said the people who are successful are those who are willing to wait longer for a result or an outcome. If you can wait without a result, if you can weather a storm the longest, you usually win. That is what it's going to be like on Amazon September 2015. It's going to be where A big company. The people who really can compete are the companies who can come in and say, we're going to market it hard on here and go into the red for 12 months knowing that by doing so we're going to have an enormous brand on Amazon and that's going to happen. It's going to make it hard to compete with a brand like that. So in order to start a new company, a new business on Amazon In September of 2015, it's going to require a lot more investment and a lot more marketing up front. It won't be as. It won't be impossible, it won't even be really hard. It'll just be harder. It'll be much harder for the average person to go in and start a business. So what do you need to do about this now?
Enter with a brand in mind.
And cling to the thing that I talk about on almost every podcast, which is when I say that if you can, the longer vision of success you can have, the more successful you will be. If you can look out and make three year plans, you will be much more successful than the dude or the gal who is going, I got three months to make this work. That person is already toast. That person's days are already toast. The idea of coming in and putting your toe in the water to see if you can make a few bucks, we've already consolidated past that point. So in order for you to compete now, go in with a brand in mind and by doing so, you will make the long term decisions necessary for you to compete and compete beyond what is 12 months from now. I am not discouraging anyone from starting an Amazon business. I am yet to see an opportunity as exciting, as hands off, as massive as this opportunity in my career. I may never see an opportunity like this again.
But if you're going to do it, I would be dishonest. If I told you to get into this business and I didn't tell you that you have eight months to do it before you get eliminated. You've got eight months to get it right. And you get it right by basically doing everything that I talk about on the podcast and what we talk about inside of my mastermind, the tribe.
So that is how you compete. Anybody who says this is always going to be this easy is lying. It's not going to be this easy. Six months from now, it's a wide open crazy west. It's the easiest, most passive, hands off business I've ever seen in my career, may ever see again. With the most crazy success stories I've ever seen. And the sheer number of them is amazing.
But the opportunities for new people are going to be much less in six to 12 months. All this to say, if you're gonna do it, get in now, don't wait.
Do not say, I'll do this next year because you'll be looking at other opportunities. And believe me, look, there are always opportunities. As long as you're creating unique value, you will always have opportunity. Which brings up a great point. There will always, always be opportunity in inventing be new products, always. And as Amazon grows, I think you're gonna see that it becomes a great breeding ground for new companies and new brands that are not white labeling stuff, but inventing new products. I think you're gonna see Amazon become an incredible hub for real entrepreneurship. Not people white labeling stuff, but real new ideas. Amazon is going to be a fantastic place for that in a year from now. It's not so much right now because there's no volume for it. That I think is going to change and I think that there's going to. The opportunities we're going to be talking about a year from now are going to be inventions of new products. Not white labeling something that exists, but creating something brand new and getting it on Amazon. I think that's really. We're going to see the market change. That's really where we're going to see new opportunities. Because as some opportunities close, new ones open. The opportunity that's closing is people are trying to do the same thing that everybody else is doing. Why is it not going to work anymore? Because you're not going to be providing unique value to the marketplace. You bring in something brand new to the marketplace and I think those opportunities are going to increase on Amazon, not get harder. They're going to get better and better and better. And it's going to be an incredible breeding ground for brand new products, maybe even 3D printed products. I think you're going to see Amazon being a leader in new entrepreneurial ideas. We're getting along. So let me wrap up here is what you need to do first. If you're not on Amazon and you want to be an Amazon entrepreneur, now is the time to do it. The longer you wait, the longer your curve is going to be for getting a piece of the action. Number two, partner smart. There's people in my tribe who are doing this brilliantly. Because when this started to happen, when a wave of people started to enter into Amazon, I said keep your eyes out for good partners. Those of you who have knowledge on Amazon and you have some cash. Start to partner with people who are new entrepreneurs and invest in them to build your own brands. For those of you who are just starting in, look for people to mentor you and to partner with.
And the Tribe is a great place to do that. Look for people who complement you well and start businesses with them. Partner smart. Listen to a previous podcast about partnering. We had a show all about choosing good partners. Third, get into a mastermind so that you can stay ahead.
I am, right now I'm in talks with a handful of people to put together basically an inner circle of people. We're working together to stay ahead because as new people come in, people like me who are multi million dollar businesses on Amazon, we got to stay ahead somehow. And so I have masterminds that are building, that are building that opportunity to stay ahead. So get this is true in any business. Get into a mastermind, share ideas and stay ahead. And number four, in a year from now when we have really become big brands on Amazon and if you do it right, you will become a big brand on Amazon. It's not that hard. It's so easy right now it's a wide open west. Then it will be time to start looking, at least in your peripheral vision about other channels besides just Amazon. Right now in my businesses we're building our own internal channels, our own e commerce channels that where we control the traffic, we control the customer experience. It is not on Amazon. Amazon will be a part of our business, not our entire business. And if you can keep that in mind that you're building a brand and Amazon is going to be a piece of that, but long term you're going to be much bigger than just Amazon, then you will be successful. If you think I'm gonna go find a product and sell it on Amazon and make a few bucks, you are dead before you begin.
Now I have a group, it's called the Tribe. I've mentioned it several times on this. We're gonna be opening again in October. It's likely going to be the last time that I do it in this format. We might do it again, but it'll go through some changes. The format right now is I basically mentor you, I mentor you. We have a big group. I have partners who also invest in this and mentor people. And it doesn't cost you a dime. It's a bonus for buying Amazing Selling Machine which is an Amazon training course which opens again in October. And that is going to be probably the last time that we bring in a surge of entrepreneurs and do it in this fashion because I believe that if you want to be in on this, you need to get on this now. And then my attention is going to turn to mentoring those people, to building really successful businesses beyond just the startup. So that's why this is probably the last time we do again. We might do something similar.
But this is going to likely be the last time that we do it in the fashion that we're doing it right now. If you want information on that, if this, if you are looking to start this business and you want to be in a mastermind and basically have really successful people mentor you, make sure you are on the newsletter over@freedomfastlane.com all the announcements are going to go through the newsletter over@freedomfastlane.com so that is my prediction for Amazon. It's so exciting because Amazon absolutely exploding in size, revenue and number of sales. But the consolidation is going to make it more difficult for new people to get in in about a year from now. So you've got a year that's good. You've got a year to get things right. So it's time to hustle. It's time to start a real business. It's time to take this seriously if this is a business that you want to be into. I sound like a broken record. So let's wrap this up. My apologies to those of you who are not entrepreneurs and found no interest in this, but every time I talk about Amazon we seem to get a big bump the itunes ranking. So if you liked this please share it on Facebook. Please tell your other Amazon entrepreneurs about it and as always, I would love to hear your comments over at the blog@freedomfacent.com thanks so much for listening and I will see you on the next one. Take care everybody.
