Hey, everybody, this is Ryan Daniel Moran with a special episode of Freedom Fastlane. And when I say it's a special episode, that really just means I'm on vacation. And that's why there's no fancy music and why the audio is a little bit different on this one. So that means it's a perfect time to start a new segment here on Freedom Fastlane called Ask Ryan. Actually, it's called Ask Ryan. Ask Ryan is a new segment where you can head over to freedomfastlane.com, click on the banner that says Ask Ryan, and you can ask me whatever question you want about business, investing, entrepreneurship, how to stay handsome. And I will take the ones that I like, and I will answer them on a podcast. So if you've got a question that you want answered on a segment of Ask Ryan, just head over to freedomfastlane.com and you can type in your question. And. And if I like it or if I like you, I'll answer it on the next podcast. So I'm on vacation at the moment, but I wanted to get this podcast out for you. I'm taking a little bit of a rest break at the moment. I'll probably share a blog post about it sometime, but I've just recently concluded a big round of negotiations with a reality show that took up about three months of my life and was absolutely exhausting. And I'll have to share the whole story sometime because. Because it was very exhausting, but also exciting journey that led to nowhere. And there were some tough lessons learned from being involved in that world. And I'll share that sometime later over@freedomfastslane.com but for right now, I'm taking a little bit of a break before I gear up to open up the tribe and help some people start some new businesses here this fall. So let's jump into this segment with the first question, which was from Elizabeth Rose. She wrote in and said, what books do you recommend a new entrepreneur read? Well, Elizabeth, I have a segment over@freedomfastlating.com called the 10 Day Challenge. And the 10 Day Challenge will walk you through one challenge every day that will really stretch you and encourage you to grow in some area of your life. And one of those days is focused on choosing a book that I recommend for you to start reading. And I give a list of books that really impacted me. So let me tell you what some of those books are. I have a list throughout the 10 day challenge, but I'll give you some of them right now. Books that I think everybody should read. Rich dad Poor dad by Robert Kiyosaki Awaken the Giant within by Anthony Robbins, the Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and the Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris. I'll give a quick maybe two sentence synopsis. Synoption is a combination of a synopsis and I don't know what the other word was, but let me give you a quick synoption of each of these books. Rich dad Poor dad basically argues that the way to get rich is to spend your life acquiring cash producing assets that go up in value and put cash into your pocket rather than take money out of your pocket. Awaken the Giant within by Anthony Robbins argues that you are in control of your experience through the language that you use, the state that you allow yourself to stay in, and the beliefs that you keep, and that you can change each of those in order to allow you to experience a different quality of life. The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson basically argues that our life is the combination of small decisions and small action steps that we take, rather than the false belief that our life is made up of giant leaps that we are waiting to happen for us and that we can control those small steps, but that those big steps rarely come and we should not expect them. A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle basically argues that most of us are operating under a false self, under a false premise that we are our own thoughts, and that by recognizing this we can eliminate that false belief and live a much higher quality of life that is more in tune with how we are supposed to live rather than this false identity that most of us identify with. And the Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris argues that there are no rules that any of us can experience the exact type of life that we want as long as we design it. And he gives some strategies for designing it and answers a lot of questions that entrepreneurs face once they have achieved a freedom lifestyle. Great question. Thanks for that. Elizabeth Rose A question from Jordan Matt asks do you know of a course that teaches sales copy? I'm going to be honest with you, I don't know that I've ever gone through an actual course on sales copy. But let me give you two ways that you can get better at this skill because it's a very important skill. Being able to write words on paper that gets people to pull out their wallets and buy is extremely effective, extremely valuable. And if you read any books by John Carleton, Clayton Makepeace or Dan Kennedy, you'll be well ahead of most people who are trying to write copy out there. And I don't think that you need to go through a course or pay a lot of money to go through and learn copywriting. I think if you just pick up books by these people, Dan Kennedy has books you can get at the library or on Amazon.com if you just grab books on copy, you'll be way ahead of the curve of most people. But at the same time, I think the most important thing you can do is study other people's copy. And if you just look at emails and sales letters that have worked really well for other people, that is a great place to get better at copy. I think I have done the best, I've improved the most as a result of just studying the emails of people that I like. One of my best friends, Travis Sago, is an email copywriting genius. And just by studying his copy, I have become a much, much better copywriter. So get on the lists of people that you like, whether it's me or people who are in the weight loss field or people in the relationship field or wherever you want it to write copy. Get on other people's lists and look at the copy that they're presenting to their audience. I have an interesting question from someone who didn't have the cojones to leave their name. And it's not a question so much as a statement that it says, ryan, you are flirting with the gates of hell and if you don't stop insulting God, you will end up there too. Well, I don't know who this person was, but I can say that if this segment was called Ask Jesus, he would find you obnoxious too. Moving on, question from CaptainBookbag, aka Jimmy. Hey Ryan, I currently sell on Amazon and just launched a new product six weeks ago. I moved from page six to page one in that time frame. I have followed training, but I'm curious how to take it to the next level. I currently sell about 10 items a day. What are the best things that I can do to take that up to 20 per day? Well, Jimmy, if you're on page one of Amazon and you're not selling 20 per day, then you're either in a small market or most of the market is concentrated between the top 10 people on that page. And then, and that's not uncommon, that happens to a lot of people where the real volume comes among the 10 top sellers and you need to get in to that top 10 in order to have significant volume. So how do you do that? You do that through Amazon pay per click ads and you do that through Launches to the point where you have given the algorithm what it needs until you are in the top 10 of what it takes in order to get consistent volume. This is also the time that you need to be looking at getting regular, consistent reviews to your product because you will see a jump in sales every time you hit certain levels of reviews. When you hit 25 reviews, 50 reviews, 100 reviews, you'll see monumental jumps in your sales at each of those levels. So focus on getting that core nucleus of reviews and continue focus to be aggressive in how many sales you are getting until you are at that point where you are in the top 10 and you're getting 20 natural sales per day. A question from Scott Volker. Is it still a good idea to create a Facebook page to build a list for the launch of an Amazon product? Facebook has changed now, but would you still run Facebook ads to your Facebook page while leading up to the launch? Now, what Scott is referencing is a presentation that I gave in January of 2014 where I presented how we launched our yoga mats. And we launched our yoga mats by building up a community on Facebook around a page called I Love Yoga. And we nurtured that audience, and then we launched our yoga mat to that audience. Well, Scott, yes, it still works, of course, but when we launched that, the whole point wasn't to build up an audience on Facebook. It wasn't to follow any specific strategy so much as it was we didn't have any list in that market at all. And we had to build one up in order to do a launch, because you can't do a launch without a list. So we did it on Facebook because it would be cheaper, it would be faster, it would be easier. And that was the option that we decided to take. It's not because Facebook's magic or because anything in that strategy was, you know, it was special. It just came down to the fact that we needed a list, and that was how we decided to do it. If you want to build a list, I don't care how you do it. If you want to do it on email, on Facebook, I don't care what we did still works just fine. It's not a matter of the certain strategy so much as it is getting a list, getting people excited about what you have, releasing it to them. And whether Facebook has changed or not, if people are excited about something, they'll buy. Now, with that said, email does tend to be more effective than Facebook followers. They follow a little bit more closely, they're a little bit more invested. So if you can Build up an email list. That's even better. I have one student who has done something absolutely fantastic and that is he puts up and I've modeled this. He puts up a squeeze page to promote a discount for a product. Opt in for a discount. They buy on the thank you page. And he uses the list that builds up as a result of that launch for other launches. So he has a list that he builds up that buys his product and then use that same list to promote his other launches as well. I've seen that to be extremely effective. So if you can do that, I'd say that is one step better than.
The Facebook launch. But either one will work as long as you are in front of people and you are giving them something that is valuable that they deem worthy of purchasing. A question from Nick. Do I need product liability insurance to hedge against risk if I'm starting a nutritional supplement company? Nick, you don't technically have to have it if you are white labeling someone else's product. If you're going to a manufacturer and you are using their formula, a lot of times they take on that risk. Now, I'm not a lawyer, I'm not an attorney. I know very little about the law. So please don't take my advice or the advice of somebody who's qualified to give you advice. But you did go to ask Ryan, sorry, ask Ryan and ask this question. So my understanding is no, you don't need it. If you are white labeling someone else's product. If you're creating your own formulas, it's probably a good thing to have. It is rare in the supplement field that supplement companies carry product liability insurance. With that in mind, they're taking a risk by not carrying it. And it's something that we have looked into and are planning to do in order to protect ourselves. In fact, we're moving forward on something right now in order to protect ourselves because we do think it's a good idea since we do create our own formulas. And if someone got sick, if someone took it wrong, if someone who took it that shouldn't be taking it got harmed by something, that's that could completely crumble our business. So it is something that I would recommend if you are creating your own formulas. Question from Will. Hi Ryan. In different podcasts you talk about using channels to grow your business. You give the example of Amazon, iTunes or ClickBank. But what would be your own channel? Something like having an email list. Thank you in advance. You're doing a great job. Love the show. Thanks, Will. Hey Will. So you're right. Having your own email list would be your own channel. Basically. Your own channel would be your own source of sales that you control. So in one of my companies, we're building up our own funnel, which means that we're building a landing page that then goes to a sales page that then goes to an upsell flow. And we're buying traffic to get people through that sequence. They're going to landing page, sales page, upsell flow. You know, we control that entire process. We can go out and buy as much traffic as we want to our own channel because we control that upsell flow. So that is our own channel. Your own email list would be part of that. So if you have a large email list that is responsive, that is absolutely your own channel. And having your own channel is superior to using someone else's channel because you control it. It can never go away. The only difference, the only negative I guess, is that it takes more time and it takes effort and income in order to build up your own channel. I know people who have built really large and passionate email lists by putting up YouTube videos, sending them back to a squeeze page and building up that audience. That's great, except you start from zero and you have to build that up over time rather than going to Amazon, putting up a product. And you already have thousands of people looking for that product on Amazon. That's the only difference. Now that is why I recommend to start your business, you go to a channel that's already existing. You go to a place where there are already people buying in order to build your business. And this is if you have a brick and mortar business, if you have an information products business, I don't care what it is, go where people are already spending money, and that is where you build the start of your business. That is how you get to stage two and three in your business is you maximize a channel, then you can look at other channels, then you can build up your own. You can build up large email lists, you can build up your own, your own funnels, which is what we're doing right now. That's stage three of business, which is where I am in my largest business. And that's where we're spending our time right now. So, yes, you're right that having your own email list is your own channel, but it's anything that you control the customer flow. I got one last question, and it's a recurring question. I didn't put a name to this because I got four or five people asking about it where they basically said, ryan, will you mentor me, Ryan, where can I get your help personally? And it's a great question. I appreciate the fact that you deem me worthy of mentorship and there are a couple ways where you can get my help. One of those ways is straight over@freedomfastlane.com and if you look at the Work with me page, you can go there and you can actually book a time to work with me one on one. This is for people who are looking for a push in their existing business or they're at the point where they feel stuck and they need my help one on one. So if you go there, you can book a time and you can actually just sign up to get a time with me personally, one on one just by going to freedomfastline.com clicking on work with me and you can sign up for a time for coaching with me. The second way is if you're looking to build an Amazon business, I am opening up the tribe, which is my group of people that I mentor through their, their first, their first win in business, specifically building an Amazon business. This is the last time that I'm going to be doing this to the public. This is the last day, the last time that I'm going to be doing this for free. Free as a bonus for using my affiliate link to buy amazing selling machine. So if you use my link, you get free mentoring from me as you build your first business. This is the last time that I'm doing this to the public. After this, I'm making some changes and it's not going to be so public. So if this is a type of business that you want to build, stay on my email list over@freedomfasting.com that is going to be opening in mid October 2014. So a couple of weeks from the time of this recording being posted, the tribe will open up to the public. If that's something that you want to be involved in, then we'll hop on a Google hangout every week and you'll have access to the hundreds of other people who have gone through the tribe. And there's some really successful people that help me mentor new people going through this process. And the track record of people in the tribe is amazing. Some of the strongest success stories Amazon have come as a result of the tribe. People who didn't have a business a year ago, who are now doing $100,000 a month, people who have tried everything to make a business work for them and now they're finally seeing consistent success as a result of the mentoring they got in the tribe. A direct result of the mentoring they got from the tribe. So if that's something that you want to be in, that opens up in mid October. And just stay on my newsletter over@freedomfastlane.com and make sure that you are aware of that announcement when it opens. And the third way is if you are successful in business, if you have if you're at least $50,000 a month or more, you can apply for my Tribe Mastermind, which is a very small group of people that works with me intimately, and I help you grow your business. We get together three times a year as a whole group and we all help each other. If you're at the $50,000 a month level or higher, you can apply to be in that intimate group of successful entrepreneurs, but you have to apply, and you apply for that over@tribeof25.com tribeof25.com and they'll send you to an application form that you'll fill out. It'll go right to me. I'll look at it, and if I think that we should talk, then I'll call you and. And we'll see if it's a fit. So that is how I can mentor you and help your businesses grow. So thank you for listening to this first segment of Ask Ryan. It's a little bit of an experiment, so if it's something that you liked and you want to ask a question for me for the next podcast, you can just head over to freedomfastlane.com, click on the banner on the right side that says Ask Ryan, and you can fill out your question form there. Thanks so much for listening to Freedom Fast Lane, and I will see you on the next show.
