Fastlaners. Welcome to Freedom Fastlane. Ryan. Daniel Moran here. It's my first podcast back from paternity leave. I guess it's the first podcast. As a dad, do I sound different? Do I sound even manlier? Do I sound more handsome? Or do I sound sleep deprived? Esther finally let me sleep last night. She's just kicking off her first business. She's a month old and she has a cash flow business, I guess you'd call it. She screams bloody murder until you bribe her with $10 to let you sleep. So I was her first customer and gave her 10 bucks and she actually slept last night. So I feel like a different person. I've wanted to make this episode for you because I've been holding back on you with some plans and I've been waiting for the right time. And today's that day. There's some really cool stuff brewing here at Freedom Fast Lane, and I'm going to be sharing with you what's going on today. Before we dive into exactly what's going on, I want to tell you a story. You might have heard me talk about it before, but When I was 21, 22 years old, fresh out of college, 2009, I attended a marketing event. And. And at the end of that event, I signed up for a 20 or $25,000 a year mastermind that really I had no business being a part of. I was young and inexperienced and I was making decent money, but I didn't really have a business. I just wanted to be around people that were at a level that would make me nervous, a level that would make me scared. I have a buddy, his name is Ty. And Ty has kind of a rule of thumb where he says that to really stretch you, you should spend 30% of your time with people who are at a level that just make you super uncomfortable. And you know that you're around good people that will stretch you when you have no idea what they're talking about for most of the time. And then you should spend 30% of your people, 30% of your time with people who are at your level, and 30% of your time at helping other people who are at a lower level than you, helping them get to the next level. Now, most of us spend our time in that middle level. We surround ourselves with our peers, people that are just like us. And that's why a lot of entrepreneurs have trouble growing, because they're not constantly getting around people that really stretch them and help them grow. So I was in this group for two years, and I Got a lot of value out of it. And it was a long term value play, if you will, because it taught me how to think like a multimillionaire, even though I wasn't one yet. I was around these people who really just made my head explode. And that is why I've been able to experience this success that I have today. And I met my best friend in that group. I met clients of mine. I interacted with people who would partner with me on future projects. It was long term, some of the best money I ever spent. And that was at a time when $20,000 or $25,000 wasn't chump change to me. It's really not chump change to anybody. But at that time it meant a lot more to me than 20 or $25,000 does to me now. And it was that play. For me, that idea was all about getting around people that just would help me think outside the box I had because I was around people who were just like me. And I wanted to be at a different level, but I needed to get around people who were just completely at a different level than me. And that's what did this. Ever since then, I've had a hard time finding that next group. And before, before you think that this is a pitch for a mastermind or for a expensive high level group. This is not that. I do have one of those, but this is not that.
I've been looking for the group that I wanted to spend a lot of money to join. And I've interviewed a bunch of leaders of these groups and I just didn't feel like any of them were really going to make me uncomfortable at the level that I wanted to be uncomfortable. So I've been seeking out mentors is not the right word, but I've been seeking out people who have done the kinds of things that I want to do. And I've been seeking out specialized knowledge of people who have built large companies, sold large companies, advised billionaires are billionaires themselves, have sold hundreds of millions of dollars. Just the level that I want to be at. Look, I want to own the Cleveland Indians. Most of you know that about me. Most of you know that that's my lifelong dream. I'm a glutton for punishment. I love my Cleveland Indians. And I've got to think a little bit differently than most of the people in our little community. I mean, the truth of the matter, and forgive me if this sounds arrogant of me, but the truth of the matter is I don't have to work, I don't have to start new things. If this was all about making the next dollar.
You know why I don't have to do that. But my dream is to own the Indians. So I've got a ways to go. I've got new levels to hit. I have to grow. If it was all about enjoyment, I would. I'd be riding scooters in Thailand, which I try to do regularly, but that's what I would do. If this is all just about making enough money to peace out for me, businesses are a step along this goal of just never ending growth, constant growth. And fortunately, but unfortunately, I've reached a level that I'm not around people who are really stretching me. So I've been seeking them out. This sounds like six and a half minutes of bragging fest. And please forgive me, there's a point to all of this.
I'll get a little vulnerable with you, and that's that I've had something I've wanted to do for a really long time that I've been afraid to do. And when I'm afraid to do something, I know that something great is on the other end of me doing that thing. And the thing that I have been afraid of for a really long time is hosting a large event. Hosting a large event where people fly in from all over the world and for three days you deliver amazing content. I've been afraid of this, and this is hard for me to admit because it's one of those things that we've all got where the negativity thoughts start to come in of a, what if nobody shows up? And B, what? You know, it would be even worse. People showed up and you did a poor job.
So this is something I've wanted to do for years but have always been scared to do. So at the beginning of this year, I decided that I was just gonna do it and I booked a venue and I set dates and I decided that I was going to go ahead and move forward with an event and the details would show themselves, they reveal themselves. It was kind of one of those things where it was, let's set it up and let's do it. And we are just now putting the final details on this event. But the cool thing, the best part of this is that we are bringing in people that either have made an enormous impact on myself or people that are at a level that makes me nervous. And the result of planning this, interviewing people that are going to be on stage at this event is possibly the highest caliber group of speakers I've ever seen. And I'm not blowing smoke up your rear. I assembled this, I assembled the team of speakers at this event to be the type of event that would make me have to think at a level far beyond where I currently am to start flexing the muscle of being around those who can stretch me. And if you're at all like me, then you know that those types of experiences are truly what make the biggest changes in you fundamentally as an entrepreneur, as a person, is having those internal, your internal stance shift. And that happens through relationships and that happens by getting around others who are thinking at a level far beyond where you currently are. So let me get right to it. I'm very proud to announce and excited to announce that December 11th, 12th and 13th in Austin, Texas is the first ever Freedom Fast Lane Live. And those three days are going to be very full and very packed with speakers who have either drastically changed and impacted my life or that I have personally sought out and invited to speak because they currently stretch me personally. And talking and interacting with them takes my life and my thinking to a different level. The theme of this year's event is thinking the bigger. Because I know that when I think bigger than where I currently see myself, that is when clarity comes into place. It's when clarity of what we need to do next reveals itself. In fact, I had to think bigger in order to plan and decide to make this event. I had to speak with some people who really helped me see the bigger picture here. I originally had planned to just have a small event with a core group of people, but as the details started to play themselves out and as I started to line up who would be joining me at this event, it was very clear that this was going to.
Break the mold of our community. Our community has kind of run to the bottom as far as content and has become watered down with the same people and the same content over and over again. And there's a lot of really great smart people in our community and in our industry. But I'm no longer interested in hearing one person's story about how they made $10,000 a month or how someone.
Had some great success. I want to hear how.
Mega millionaires and billionaires think. I want to hear what's different about me and the person who's running a 200 million dollar company. Fundamentally, what is different about that person and myself. I want to get inside their head and see what thoughts do they have that I don't have.
What habits do they practice on a daily basis that I don't even think to practice. What are the common threads among the most successful people in the world so that I can find where they line up and practice those things. My hypothesis is that by aligning those things, the next level of success will become very clear. That by mimicking the habits and the practices and the thought patterns of mega millionaires and billionaires, that success is then hackable, success is then able to be copied. Now I've reached a certain level in my life and my career that I'm very pleased with. I'm very proud of myself. But I'm not stopping here. But I will confess that I'm not even sure where that next big leap is in my life. I don't know where that next big shift where that change in perspective or that change in stance will be really clear. So I need to be around those who are at that crazy different level. And so do you. Whether it's one mentor or it's even a forum of people who are successful doing something that you're trying to do or your success network that you're building and you're nurturing. If you're not constantly and regularly getting around people who are stretching you and taking your thoughts to the next level, then you are trapped in the situation that you are currently in. You cannot grow unless you get outside thoughts from those who are far beyond where you currently are. So I have assembled a group that I think is industry changing, that is mold breaking. And I am not revealing the lineup yet. I will be revealing it over the next few weeks over@freedomfastlane.com but I will tell you this. Among the lineup are individuals who own hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate, business owners who have taken companies from zero the startup phase to $250 million in sales in less than three years and own the fastest growing companies of their kind. They are billionaires. There are those who have sold hundreds of millions of dollars and then decided to walk away from it to pursue something much bigger. It is people that invest in startups and have hundreds of millions of dollars and are now reinvesting that into startups. And I want to hear what they look for to take a company into that hundreds of millions of dollars level. It includes my personal mentors, people that are the reason that I am successful and some that I have hand selected from our industry that I think are doing tremendously inspiring things and that think on a level that is higher than what is commonly shared in our industry. So December 11th, 12th and 13th, Freedom Fast Lane Live, the first ever Freedom Fastlane Live will happen. And I'm nervous about it, but mostly just excited about it. What I'm most excited about is the fact that attending will be shockingly affordable and tickets will go on sale August 11, 2015. So on August 11, early bird access will open and there will be a discount for getting in on Early Bird. And that discount makes a ticket shockingly affordable. In fact, getting around the lineup that we have, even for just a day would cost well over $100,000. It's actually more like $200,000 and up. I know because I know what we paid some of them just to show up at the event, much less stay and interact with those who are going to be at Freedom Fast Lane Live. In fact, let me tell you how I broke this. The speakers are broken down. I mentioned before that my buddy ty recommends spending 30% of your time with people who are at a higher level, 30% at your level, and 30 below your level. The way we've divided the lineup of speakers is 30% of them are my personal mentors. They have brought me to the level that I am. 30% are people in our industry, people names that you'll recognize that are doing special things that think bigger than the average person in our little community. And 30% are people that I'm bringing in that I headhunted, if you will, because they break the mold of what's possible. They have done things far beyond what I see as possible as what is comfortable for me to think about. Mega millionaires, billionaires, billion dollar companies just completely breaking the mold of what we talk about in our community. They will all be there at Freedom Fast Lane Live and several of them will be there interacting, staying for the entire event of Freedom Fastlane Live and you're invited to join them December 11th, 12th and 13th. So I have all of the venue information, dates, travel information, details about the event over at freedomfastlanelive.com Tickets go on sale August 11th and there will be a significant discount for early bird access, meaning you get access on or near August 11th before tickets open to the the general public. I am actually nervous but mostly excited to announce that we'll be having it this year. So head over to freedomfastlanelive.com and you can either sign up for more information or be alerted when the Early Bird tickets go live. And again, that's freedomfastlanelive.com now if you do one thing, even if you do not join us at Freedom Fastlane Live December 11th, 12th and 13th in Austin, Texas. There is something very powerful about getting around people who are at a level that Just makes your brain think differently. I compare it to the time that I went to Rome and I stood in the Colosseum. Now previously I had traveled internationally only mildly and being and living in America. All the buildings that we're in are less than 200 years old. A 200 year old building is like ancient in the US and going to Rome and standing in a, in the colosseum, which is 2,000 years old. Being in something that was real and 2,000 years old, that was as old as Jesus. All of a sudden 2000 years of history became very real to me. And the only way that I know how to explain that was that my brain had to go out and get new thoughts. That was the experience I had standing in the Colosseum in Rome. My perspective on everything changed. Nothing about the world changed, but something in me fundamentally changed just by the fact of 2000 years of history suddenly becoming very real to me. The same thing happens when you're around a billionaire or you're around somebody who owns hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate, or someone who has taken a company from zero to the hundreds of millions of dollars in just a couple of years. You realize that nothing's really different about the world, but something fundamentally changes inside of you when you're around people who think completely differently than you. We all know that we're the average of the five people that we spend the most time with. So be strategic about who you spend time with. If you're not regularly getting around people that stretch you, encourage you, and invite you to think and process things differently, view the world differently, then you're not consciously creating your life. Even on the topic of health and fitness, if you're around people who eat organic, healthy food most of the time, chances are you're going to be healthier than if you spend time with people who are eating McDonald's eight times a week. It's just how we're wired. We're wired to be like, who are, who is in our tribe, who's in our community. We're wired to be like the people around us. So be intentional about who you spend time with. One of the ways you can do that is by joining us in Austin, Texas at Freedom Fast Lane Live. As we break the paradigms of our industry, as we shatter what we know is possible, and we hear from those who have done what seems to be impossible and we make it very accessible and possible for everyone in the room. Thank you for listening to this big announcement and I hope to be seeing you in Austin, Texas in December. As always, thank you for listening to Freedom Fastlane. And I'll see you on the next show.
