Hey, capitalists. As you may be finding out, it's really hard to grow a successful business without a well thought out customer avatar. You need to know who you're serving, who you're selling to, and after you've got it dialed in, after you've talked to your buyers, the next product and the vision for the whole product line comes naturally. Ryan Daniel Moran recently held a workshop at his lake house for entrepreneurs who are looking to build massive brands. This is a behind the scenes Segment to the 8 figure exits workshop we put on. What I would say to entrepreneurs who are not yet at the level yet where they could really grow is I would ask them, how would your business be different if you weren't thinking about what you could get out of it, but what you could create?
And there's a subtle but very distinct difference there. I think most entrepreneurs get into the game because they want to make money or they want to be free. And that's awesome. And we tend to get trapped in this mindset of I need to get something in order for me to feel free. But the reality is that if you think about how, if I can create something, if I can create something, that even if the numbers don't make sense or I can't justify it.
But I can see this vision for what I want.
There's a way of other people wanting to run behind that and support that. And so it's one thing to say, like, I want to sell, I want to sell this thing.
But there's something very different when you say I want to create and go in this direction and then the resource kind of come up to make that happen. And everybody benefits when they're taking it that way, including the customer. Whereas most people view it as the opposite of like, if I do this, I can make this much money and then I will be free. But you get free a lot faster if you're thinking about what it can create in the world and the world rewards you with more money. If you make that shift, then the resources tend to show up and you get to that seven figure point a lot faster, which allows you to then be Free and, and build something really, really great. And that just happens a lot faster when you make that shift. I'm really good at helping that person bring that to life.
Nobody is really good at going to the person who is thinking about how much can I get? And saying, well, you want to get more? Well, here's how you get more. That's a zero sum game. But when you're thinking about building and creating something, man, there's all kinds of resources that can be lined up behind that person. We live in this kind of silly paradox where we are expecting ourselves to be the best at everything and be better than everyone at everything, and yet we need each other in order to be the best at everything or best at anything. And so, especially in the Internet entrepreneurial world, there is this tendency for people to compare themselves in every other way because they're working alone all the time by themselves behind a computer, watching everybody else, thinking about I'm going to be better than them so that I can come up with a better hack and out earn you and out follow you and out status you. But that never happens because you can always compare something else about your life to somebody else. When you come together, you're good at this. You want to do this. I'm good at this. When we come together, it's more. Both of you grow. That's capitalism. That is value creation. That's how people get rich. When you really are bringing people with aligned interests together, you create more than you could have created on your own. That's what, that's what all business relationships should be. Most people are looking at it from, I can get this, you can get this. And if I don't get what I want, I'm pissed. That is not. That is not how any relationship is supposed to work. All relationships, especially in business, are, I bring 100%, you bring 100%. And when we bring them together, it makes 400%. That's how it's supposed to be. And if you're not doing that, you need to get the hell out. Because what's the point? That's not fun anymore. It's fun when you create something meaningful together that you all think matters.
It all could go belly up. And at least you did it with people that you liked doing something that mattered. And then y' all dust yourself off and you do something else.
