Foreigners, this is Ryan Daniel Moran. Welcome to Freedom Fast Lane. If you've listened to the show for more than, like, 15 seconds or so, we're like 15 seconds in, right? You probably know that my lifelong dream is to own the Cleveland Indians. I'm a glutton for punishment. Although 2016, they're doing pretty darn good. So it's been a good year for.
Punishment lovers like myself who have been Indians fans their whole lives. Anyway, you know that my dream has been to own the Cleveland Indians. And so my focus has always been, at least for the last few years, since that has become a priority to me, my focus and my study has not really been about making your first dollar, about generating what some people would consider passive income. It's about generating enough wealth and enough connections and enough of a network to where, when that opportunity becomes a reality, it is actually possible. I don't want to reach the point in my life where the opportunity comes up for me to make a splash like that. And I don't have the resources, I don't have the connections, I don't have the in to make something like that happen. So my entire life is structured around positioning myself to. To be able to take advantage of that opportunity when it becomes available, whether that's in five years, 10 years, or 30 years. My. My dream is to own the Cleveland Indians. And my life is set up to be able to take advantage of the opportunities that exist when that presents itself. And I believe that the. The. The three steps, the way to get anything that you want in life, the way to create the amount of wealth that you want to leave to your family or to do whatever you want with your. With your time, is first, to decide the life that you want. Second, to start a business and to scale that as big as it needs to be. And then third, to invest the profits into other assets. So that first piece is the piece that we usually forget about, that create the life you want piece. And for me, that is to be in the dugout with eye black on my eyes, with a jersey on my back, doing annoying chants for the team that I own. And when they try to kick me out, saying, you can't make me leave, I own this team. So that's my dream. That's how I want to spend my time. So the rest of the process, the rest of the formula of building a business and investing the profits has to be in alignment with the first part, the creating the life that you want. So designing that type of a life, if someone just wants to retire to a Beach, that would be a different set of action sets that they would need than for somebody who wants to own a Major League baseball team. And neither one is right or wrong. It's just, first you have to be really clear on what it is that you want, and then you set up your life and your finances to be able to support that. So that's why my focus. And if you've kind of noticed the shift in the last 18 months or so here on the show, the focus has become much more about building really big companies than it has been about interesting ways that people make money on the Internet or what have you. And my focus has always been about not necessarily the getting started piece, although we have programs and blog posts and podcasts about what that looks like. It's more about how do you scale the type of business that you want to be able to create, the impact that you want to have, the results that you want? And I have always been kind of frustrated at the lack of information on that. There seems to be a lot of really great information for people who want to start the idea of, how do you grow into the billion dollar level? What does it take to be a billionaire? And I didn't know the answer to that. I don't even know where to look for that. So last year I decided, okay, I'm just going to pay the people that can answer that question whatever it would cost to come hang out with me and to tell me what they know. I'd be able to dissect what it is that they're doing. And some people might show up. And that was really the methodology, that was the thought process behind announcing Freedom Fast lane Live in 2015. I was frustrated. The lack of really breakthrough information that existed in the marketplace for people who wanted to grow a business that was truly to that breakthrough level beyond $10 million to have a really sustainable business and to be able to deconstruct the processes and the habits of the people who are doing that. And I couldn't find it anywhere. So I decided to hire Gary Vaynerchuk and Robert Herjavec and billionaire Jeff Hoffman to come in and say, okay, what is it that you do? What does the process look like? I didn't know if anybody was gonna show up. When we announced Freedom Fast Lane live, more than 400 people did show up for the event, most of them leaving saying that it was the best event that they had ever attended because there was no agenda. The agenda was simply to deconstruct what those habits and processes and thought patterns Were. And I specifically flew in Gary Vaynerchuk because he had the exact same dream is mine, except his is for the New York jets. Mine is for the Cleveland Indians. And I wanted to hear, okay, you do these cool social media posts. What's your plan to get the billion? What's your plan to get the Jets? And he talked about that. We flew in Grant Cardone, who started a nice Twitter war with me a week or so ago because he has $350 million in real estate. Supposedly I haven't seen it yet. And I wanted to know, okay, how did you acquire that? Because that would make a nice down payment on a sports team and Robert Herjavec. And the reason we wanted Robert was because he represents that third part of the process, the investor profits. He invests his profits into other businesses. And that's an interesting point I want to bring up, by the way, because I know that since my dream is to own a billion dollar company, the Indians, in order for me to get there, I've either got to have a business that is big enough to where it can be sold for billions of dollars and we put it into a sports team, or I've got to invest so well or be the source that other people want to invest in. I've got to have some sort of an investment strategy that's so good that it either creates massive wealth or other people want to invest in it. So I collect a whole lot of money and that's what Robert Herjavec does. He, he grew his securities company to about $100 million. He now invests his profits into other businesses that can grow beyond what it looks like on paper, can really surprise him and be those unicorns that become multimillion dollar companies. So that's why we had Robert in and we brought in Jeff Hoffman because he's got the B next to his name. He's built and sold a company that is known worldwide. And we brought in Pat Flynn because I believe that the source to everything is your audience. And he is the best that I know at building up the audience. So once again, I didn't know if anybody was going to show up at Freedom Fast Lane Live 2015. More than 400 did. And so today I'm proud to announce and excited to announce that we are doing it again and we will be having Freedom Fastlane Live 2016 in Austin, Texas, December 9th, 10th, 11th. The theme and the format is similar with a twist. See, last year I was very surprised to learn that the big names, the big keynotes were not most of the audience's favorite speakers. It was the people you had never heard about that were doing incredible things. It wasn't the people who were just good on stage and could give a good performance. It was is the people who said, here's what I've accomplished. Here's how we built and sold the company. Here's how I got the B next to my name and then deconstructed the process and revealed how it was done and left people feeling like they up leveled as a result, rather than just entertained. 80% of the people who attended Freedom Fastlane Live did not choose one of the big keynotes as their favorite speakers. So we're going to have some pretty impressive names. We're going to have the flashy keynotes just like we did last year. But the focus of this year has been more about who is the guy or the girl that is building the breakthrough company, that is building the business that has staying power, that has the business that's doing $100 million plus. And you know the company, but you've never heard of the person behind it. You've never heard of the person who started the idea, planted the idea, grew it, because they're not a social media celebrity. Instead they're busy building a company. What is that person doing? That's the thing that I want to deconstruct this year at Freedom Fast Lane Live 2016. As I've said, I know that for my goals, it's going to take building a company to at least $100 million in order to be able to have the seed funding to be able to invest that wisely, to put me in the right circle in order to buy the Cleveland Indians. And I'm going to have to invest that really, really wisely. So we're going to be bringing in individuals who have either done that, are on that path or are past it and are now investing their dollars into other places where it can be truly breakthrough. I have become fascinated with businesses that kind of buck the trend of everyone else and seem to succeed not just in spite of it, but because of it. If you've followed other businesses or you're plugged into entrepreneurial circles, you know that there are some really cool things in the marketplace that never really take off. And at the same time, there are also cool things that take off, but they don't last. And then there are businesses that take off and they last and they grow forever. And I'm very curious to identify what is it about those businesses that not only has a quick win not only hits the mark, but is also sustained, makes the world a better place and as I believe, makes the pie bigger, makes wealth bigger for everyone. When we have these companies that create something new in the marketplace, that bring new ideas to the marketplace and create something brand new that's never existed before and it starts to take off and they have to hire people as a result to keep up with it, that is new wealth. That is new growth in an economy. And I think that's what really drives growth in, in in the world. I think that's how we solve the world's greatest problems. I want to find those people, not the ones that you hear about all the time, but the people who are building the businesses that are behind the scenes pulling the strings. The ones who had an idea, brought it to the marketplace, don't need to be glorified about it and instead are just building something that is truly breakthrough in the world. And that is our focus at freedom Fastlane LIVE 2016. We have not yet announced who is going to be joining us at Freedom Fast Lane Live this year. We have not announced any of the keynotes. You know that we did something very unique in the marketplace. And to be quite honest with you, I took a lot of pressure on myself this year because I didn't know how it was going to top what we did last year. But I believe that we have done that. I believe that we have topped the quality of people that is going to be in the room, the quality of people that is going to be on stage and the things that we are doing in order to facilitate new connections, to facilitate a greater experience, to facilitate new business partnerships that you can run into so that you're in front of the type of people that will help you grow to the next part of your journey, wherever that is.
