Making Amazon Millionaires At Home And Abroad w/ Alex Huditan
11 Dec 2025 · 65 min
Podcast conversation (Ryan Moran interviewed by Alex Huditan) about building and scaling e-commerce businesses on Amazon in 2020. Covers influencer marketing, launching products, audience-building (email lists, surveys, documenting product development), mindset and contribution as drivers of long-term success, and Ryan's book '12 Months to 1 Million' (strategy for reaching $1M in 12 months). Practical tactics include engaging a responsive subset of large email lists, using surveys/videos to validate demand, product-first vs. audience-first approaches, and partnering with influencers or running ads to reach foreign markets.

Hey, capitalists. Boy, is this a good one. Today we're sharing a call Ryan did with Alex Huditan, or as his friends call him, Hooty, another Amazon leader in the space who lives in Romania. And Hooty is the host of the Amazoniani annual conference in Romania, which Ryan has spoken at twice. And he's the guy who is truly living the four hour work week lifestyle. He's often seen traveling the world, loving life and inspiring others to launch and automate their own businesses. They talk about how the E Com game is changing in 2020, how influencer marketing strategies will change, how to sell to foreign audiences, and the mindset necessary for success and happiness. Let's dive in.

Saradraje Amazonieni and hello and good morning for those of you that are watching from us and our special guest today. Today, Mr. Ryan. Is it Daniel still or are you just Moran now?
What do you think I've changed my middle name? Yes.
I thought you lost it in the branding somewhere. It's like, no, man, I'm Ryan Moran from now on.
It's good to see you, man. It's really good to see you too. What did you say at the top of the call? Translate that for me.
That's my signature way of addressing everybody in the group. When we had the. When we have the course with every live webinar. I like to get the energy up and say it like, good evening, everybody. All the Amazon's people. Yes.
You're just so cool, man. Like, I need a page out of your playbook of just how to be cool. Like, I'm still learning the Hootie Wave, but you just have all these cool branding things. Y' all are so lucky to be in his little tribe. I love it.
Ah, thank you. Thank you for saying that.
Yes. So, as you all know, we're doing the webinars, the Wait webinars. We are all in this together, and Ryan has been kind enough to accept our invitation. And sometimes I forget to look in the camera, and it's strange, but now I'm looking at it, and it's very nice. So for those of you that don't know Ryan, he's a very good friend. He lives in Austin, Texas, and he's already been to the amazoniani Summit twice. Yes, twice. And he was one of the most appreciated speakers even before he came, so. So everybody was like, yeah, Ryan is coming. And after he came, like, yeah, Ryan, rock, man. I really like Ryan. Ryan, yeah. And.
You may have seen one of his very popular videos online.
One that inspired Edward Eduard Ilinka from our group to stop Amazon and maybe some others. Some others from the group. So that was how to get to 1 million in 12 months.
That's the name of it. Right.
I know that somebody also wrote a book with the same title.
I've heard. I've heard of this. Yes.
You've heard of this, too. So this book is already going nuts. Already got some bestsellers, Bestseller badges on Amazon. And it's not launched yet.
Correct.
Right.
Like, you cannot get it yet, but.
It'S already, like, the author has some copies in his house. He got them a few days ago, but they haven't been released yet. So the other ones.
If you want to buy one of his books, I think the easiest way is to ask the author where we can buy it.
Man.
Really? Congratulations on the book. It's crazy you have a book out. Like, how. How. How does it feel? You're an author.
Well, I mean, honestly, Alex, I'm just pumped because it's one of those things where I'm so proud of what's in it. And I know that there's going to be a lot of Edwards who read the book instead of watching a video or hearing my podcast. We're gonna be inspired to build really successful businesses. So it's just one of those Things where I'm absolutely confident that it's going to change people's lives. And so it's really fun to be in the position. It's like you with the Step up course, you know, you've got something that is going to radically impact people's lives. And so you can't wait but get up in the morning and tell people about it. And when you got that, it's. And this is actually, it's a great point for business. One of the secrets to success is just knowing you've got something great. Because if you don't know that you've got something great, then you're always in this like, tense hesitation, like, am I tricking people? Kind of mentality. But when you know you got something great, it's so easy to have a profitable, successful, fun, easy business. And that's what Alex has with Step Up. That's what I've got with 12 months to 1 million. And that's what I think we're all here to do, is to create something, create our lives in a way that is so enriching to ourselves and to other people that we can't help but talk about it. So it's a great, just a great metaphor for how life.
Amen. Amen. I love it. I love it. Yes. For the two people in the group that don't know who Ryan Moran is. Can you give us a fast bio, please?
Yeah. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Lower middle class, parents split at 12. I thought I was going to be a pastor. I was trying to find myself, really had this deep desire inside of me that I wanted to do something different, that my life was going to be kind of.
An experiment of how far I could go to see how much I could push the limits, to see if I could break out of the normal. Most of my friends were just happy living quiet lives, and I wasn't happy living that way. And So I, at 18, decided I was going to take the money that I had, which was about $1,000, and try to learn how to become an entrepreneur. And I was a really scrappy entrepreneur for a good, like five years through college, where I learned a little bit about marketing, a little bit about this, this piece here, or like a little bit about sales copy, or a little bit about search engine marketing, or a little bit about advertising, or a little bit about content to the point where a few years in, I realized that if you took those things and applied them to a real business like selling products on Amazon, that you could just absolutely dominate because you had this great platform and you had this opportunity of all these different places where you could get traffic and customers. And so I took that skill set, built an eight figure business, had an eight figure exit, and now I'm the CEO of capitalism.com, which is a media property for entrepreneurs. And I mean, the overall underreaching theme in that was I grew up the underdog. I grew up the person who was not, is not gifted with the ability to crush it in the way that we get the opportunity to do. You know, I had certain advantages, like, you know, we don't pick who our parents are, as far as I know, maybe we do, but we don't pick where we're born, as far as I know, maybe we do, I don't know. But I grew up kind of an underdog, looking to find my way and create my way and work my way in. And we live in this time right now where it doesn't matter if you've got zero dollars in your bank account, it doesn't matter if you have no seeming connections. Like this is the underdogs world at this point. And so a lot of people put me up on this platform of being this model of success, but what I really think is I'm just the example of the underdog who can win and we can. And there's still tons of opportunity. The opportunity never goes away. It just changes. Even with some of the economic predictions of what's going to happen as a result of all this coronavirus, opportunity isn't really destroyed. It just kind of moves. And that's where we are right now. And if you're willing to be humble and aggressive during this time, there's just so much opportunity for you, for me, and for all of us. We're all in this together.
Yes. I'm liking this call very much.
Thank you, Ryan. Thank you for that. Before we get into it, so to speak, would you say connecting to what you said before, is Amazon an opportunity to start with in 2020?
100%, yes. However, here's the asterisk. It is not the opportunity for you. If you're playing hesitance, if you're sitting in this place where you're like, I don't know if this product is going to work. I don't know if this is the right thing. I don't know if this is the right way to do it, you're going to struggle. This is going to be hard. This is the biggest buyer pool, it's the biggest opportunity, it's the biggest pie ever.
And for you to go in and make a splash into it. You've just got to know that what you've got is good, or at least good enough to serve enough people for you to make the pie just a little bit bigger. So if you have this mindset of like, I'm going to carve out my little. Is this the right way to carve out my little piece of the pie? You're going to struggle no matter what business you go into. But if you've got the mentality where you're like, I'm just going to go for it, first of all, you'll be successful no matter what you do. But Amazon is going to be the. The easiest, the simplest and the fastest way for you to get results. And so if you're in this mindset of saying, all right, I'm going to learn enough. I'm going to stack the deck enough. I'm going to look at the opportunities enough for me to just go all in. And not go all in in the sense of I have to be working all the time. Hootie is an example that you don't have to have mentality like who's who. He said on my podcast, he's like, don't tell my mom, but I don't work.
You don't have to be in that tense place all the time. If you can be loose and easy about it and go like, look, I'm gonna line up the product. I'm gonna. I know enough about the strategy now it's go time. You will win. Because Amazon is the path of least resistance to having fast sales, to getting a lot of reviews, to getting a lot of customers, for you to get to that point where you can radically change your financial future, it's the path of least resistance. But if you are resistant the whole time, if you are in the place of, you're like, I don't know if it's gonna work and I just gotta get it right, you are gonna struggle no matter what business you're in. So there's opportunity everywhere. Amazon is a really good one, probably the best one. But you've got to be ready, and you've got to have a little bit of a path that you're following. And you've got a mentor in Alex that can make that really clear and real easy and real fast. And I would recommend that you just allow yourself to say, okay, these two dudes have done it. Alex has helped hundreds of people like me. Ryan's helped hundreds of people like me. Alex lives the lifestyle that I want These two guys have a plan. That's clear enough. I'm just going to go in. I'll make some mistakes. I'll figure them out. I'll adjust as things go. And you will win. You will win.
I can only say amen to that.
Mr. Pastor. Thank you very much for that. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
For people that have already started the business now, should they be scared of this situation? Should they launch more products? Should they hold back and say, okay, I need the cash, so maybe all I can do is hold on to this money? Should they look out at other ways that they can grow their business besides Amazon?
Okay, so I'm really glad you asked this. I'm just going to make this super relevant to you and this crowd. I know Alex is doing this promotion around this new opportunity called Step Up. And within this opportunity, Alex could be sitting on the sidelines waiting. Right? But Alex knows what he's got. Alex knows that if you follow the advice that he gives you, you are going to be successful. If you are ready for this opportunity, and if you go into this opportunity with some good mentorship and a good attitude and a good opportunity, you're going to be successful. So Alex, by coming in and doing this promotion and talking about this stuff, he is helping so many people, and so many people are going to be successful, and they're going to have an impact on a lot of other people's lives. That can only happen if Alex has the goods, which he does. You already know that because you've seen all the track record that he of the people that he has inspired previously. You've seen the clips of the events, you've seen all the people in the room. Like, you've seen the impact that has happened. And it is a good thing for him to be helping other people during this time. The same is true for you. If you're already in business and you have customers, now is the time that you can serve them the most. And sometimes that means giving them a word of inspiration, and sometimes it means launching the exact product that they need right now. And sometimes that means creating content that helps them have a shift to go from this place to this place. Your job is to not be in the place of what do I do? Because that always creates a sense of scarcity or tenseness. It removes you from the opportunities that are happening. But if you ask the question, what does my community need? What do my customers need? What does the world needs? How can I be of service to this community and my customers and to the Amazon world? What do people need right now? And you provide that, then it is a immoral thing to sit on the sidelines. It's immoral for you to stay stuck in an inaction. It is the most loving, giving, contributive thing that you can do to go serve that crowd and that audience. And you will be financially rewarded as a result of that. But it starts with you thinking about what is this group need? What do my customers need? What do my followers need? What does Amazon need? What are these? What does the Amazon group of customers need? You go provide that. You're always in that mindset and you will win.
I love it. We have some questions from, from the group. And besides everybody saying hello and hi and in all the ways.
Do you think that influencers will have the same impact on people after the pandemic will pass?
Yeah, that's a great question. Because there's been such a surge in use of influencers and I think that's been a really, really good, healthy decision. The question moving forward is going to be how much influence do they continue to carry? So the strategy of using influencers will not change, but the assessment of what influences might change. So for example, I think we will start to wisen up about the fact that follower count doesn't mean anything if you, if, if you have a attractive dude or a good looking girl who has a lot of followers for all of this, you know, for all of, for what they look like, they are not influential to buy a product. But influence looks like a lot of different things. It looks like podcast followers, it looks like email lists, it looks like blog readers. So if you can use this as a sign of. Okay, I might need to go look at what some other, like, where is their real influence now? Cause it's not happening in social media and you instead look at. Okay, I'm gonna look at other places where there's influence. There is so much opportunity for you to have. So yes, influencers are going to become less influential in the channels that we're used to, Instagram, social media. But if you go to where there are more micro crowds and there's a loyal following, influence will be higher, not less. Because somebody who has been giving to their audience for a long time has a lot of real influence, even if the follower count is less.
Right. Because this, this next question is, can be like a follow up question. And this is from Florine. He says he has a list of 100,000 people.
Awesome.
That is not his.
Okay.
And he wants to use this list and he's Asking how to message them. They never subscribe to him, so should he use it? How does he convert more of these people? Is it the copy? Is it the messaging? Is it like, what tools can he best use to convert?
Yeah. Okay, so you say his name is Florine? Yeah, Lauren. All right, here's what I would suggest that you do. You write a really honest email to the list that says how you got their names and why you're contacting them. And then you send them to a page. You send a link to a page. It's a video of you introducing yourself with a link below you to a survey. And the flow might look like this. Here's your email. Your email is. Hey, everyone, I know we might not have interacted much in the past. My name is Florine and I help people do X, Y and Z. The reason I'm contacting you is because I was asked by this person who had the list to communicate with you because we both know that we haven't been in contact as much as we'd like to be in contact. So I just wanted to see, reach out and see how I could help and what kind of content I could provide for you that would be helpful to you on your journey to lose weight or make money or whatever your niche is. Would you do me a favor and take two minutes to let me know how I can serve you? Click this link. It'll take you to a survey that'll just ask you a few questions about your journey and what you're trying to accomplish. And then I'll use that information to see what type of content and what type of products I release that will help you along your journey. I'm sorry it's been so long since we've reached out here at the company, but I look forward to serving you more as the days go by.
Link to the page. Here's your video. Your video is this. You say exactly what you said in the email. Hey, my name is Florine and I reached out to you via email because so and so and I agreed that we haven't been in touch as much as we'd like to be in touch. And so we wanted to see how we could serve you more. And so I put together this two minute survey below that'll just ask you a few questions about your journey and what you're trying to accomplish. And I'll take that data and I'll see how I can create some products and some content that'll really help you out. Click the link below and it'll take you two minutes and I'll, I'll, I'll follow up with you after that survey. What are you trying to accomplish? What's been your biggest struggle on your quest to accomplish this? What have you tried in the past? What would you like to see moving forward? Thank you very much. Now, you might only get 5,000 people to respond and fill out that survey. You might only get 10,000 people who continue to open those emails moving forward. But an engaged list of 10,000 people with 5,000 people who gave you data is way better than 100,000 people who don't give a crap. Way better. I just said that a small, hungry, responsive crowd is more valuable than a really big crowd that doesn't care. And so your job right now is to go get the responsive people from that group of a hundred thousand. Don't care about the 90,000 who don't open, don't care about the 90,000 who don'T fill out the survey. Care so much about the thousand or five thousand people who open your emails and communicate with you. Care so much about them. Because 10,000 people is a million dollar business if they care if they open your emails, if they respond, if they buy into what it is that you're up to. 10,000 people is a multimillion dollar business. So don't care about the other 90. So use that big list to engage a small group and then care so much about that group of 10,000 people that you build a million dollar business. That's what you should do.
Florine, how important do you think it is, the video? I think either Florine or other people in the community have this fear of putting themselves out there as a foreigner, talking to an audience, a native English speaking audience. So they're like, maybe it's not me, maybe. And they postpone it and they never do it. So how important do you think it is that somebody does this or they can skip it just for the, to the survey? And that's.
Yeah, so. So two things come to mind. Number one, I don't know if you've ever heard the studies, but there have been studies done on Americans.
Americans, when they hear an accent, psychologically believe that you're smarter than us.
Any kind of accent, really.
That's right. That's right. If you've got an accent and you speak English, we just assume you're smarter than us.
Because we only speak one language. We only ever see people who look exactly like us on tv.
So hearing from a different voice is actually really interesting to us. Now, number Two. My number two piece of advice is just call it out if you're nervous. If you say it, it goes away. So in the video, hey, my name is Florine. I know that's a little bit of a different name. And I don't. English is my second language, so thanks for bearing with me. I just put together a survey for you to see how I could help you because I'm not from America. English is my second language and I don't know exactly what you need, and I want to find out exactly what you need so that I can create the product that is exactly what you want.
So just call it out and a few details about the niche. Right? Like in the. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, Florian, if you're willing to share your niche, we could talk a little bit more specific. But if you can just speak exactly to your crowd and say whatever is holding you back, you'll be free of it. And there will. Maybe you'll get some emails that are like, go away, foreigner. Like, you might get some of those emails and then you'll have other people who are like so drawn in to you and your accent and the way you speak. And all you care about, all you care about is the people who are drawn in. Listen, a thousand people who really, really love you is so powerful. So powerful. And that's all you need to care about is those thousand people.
And.
And if you do that, you'll be so much better than the person who tries to get it exactly right for 100,000 people.
Do you believe anything changed in your plan to get to $1 million in 12 months for 2020?
Yeah. So I first gave my presentation. That video was from 2014. It's created hundreds of millionaires. And the only thing that has changed is that if you have a group of people, a few hundred or a few thousand people that want what you are selling ahead of it being available for sale, you go faster. That's the only thing that's changed. If you've got people who want what you've got ahead of time, you get to a million faster. That's the only thing that's changed. Other than that. Math is still math. 4 products at 25 sales a day is 100 sales a day. 100 sales a day at $30 is $3,000 a day. $3,000 a day is $1,000,000 a year more than a million dollars a year. So it's just math. All we are doing is reverse engineering. How do we have a hundred sales a day at 30 bucks? And the fast way to get it is to take a small group of people, give them one to four products that they really want, get reviews and repeat. That's it. The strategy is exactly the same. The only thing that's different is now more than ever, having a small, hungry audience makes it happen faster.
Right. And you would go about choosing the products, serving that group of people. That's the way you put together the products. It's not about going in and seeing what is actually selling very well on Amazon. You are still serving that audience that you went for with your first product.
That's my strategy, yes.
Right.
However, if you're starting out, and you are, it's your first business and you've got a thousand bucks and you've got to get this right, and you've picked a product that is an iPhone case and you want to sell a lot of iPhone cases, then you can still go get that group of people who wants what you have. As long as you're in that mode that we talked about several times throughout this time together, which is, you know, you've got something that other people want. And so I've got a buddy, his name's Travis, he's been on my podcast several times. You should go look up. I do a segment on my YouTube called Wine with Wyan and I do an interview with my buddy Travis Killian. We call him Killin it Killian. And Travis's strategy is he goes and looks at what's selling really well on Amazon, but then he goes and reads reviews, he goes and he looks for exactly what people say they want. And then he goes and develops a product and gets a small group of people to say, I want that essential oil diffuser, I want that iPhone case, I want that iPhone cover, I want that whatever it is. And then he goes and gives exactly the right type of product to that group of people. And he does tens of millions of dollars a year on Amazon. He doesn't build audiences or brands or do this stuff that I talk about. He just goes and develops amazing products. He had an essential oil diffuser get picked up by one of the Kardashians and she talked about it with she. He didn't pay her a thing. He doesn't know her, he's never talked to her. But the Kardashians are now talking about his essential oil diffuser. Why? Because it's a great frickin product.
Wow.
So you don't have to go out and go build the audience or create a bunch of content. You can just go develop a product, but you've got to know that you've got the thing that other people want. And if you do that, you'll stand out from everybody else to who just white labeling something off the shelf and shipping it to Amazon. That game is old hat. You've got to have something that you know, you know, you know that other people really want to have.
Yes. Let's go with the follow up from Florine who said we use influencers that have followers between 5 and 10k and a higher engagement rate, minimum of 5%. We used their videos before, but I think that using more of ourselves is a very good move.
Awesome. I want to invest in Florine. He's got it. Florian's got it down. So you've used this strategy to build this amazing email list. Your job now is to go find the hyper respondent people and go give them exactly what they want. You're going to kill it. Florine.
And Sammy asks, do you think that if I identify a need for myself, if it's worth testing, regardless of what data is pulled from software like Helium 10 or stuff like that, it tells you about the volumes and things.
I love this question. I just love this question. Sammy, you are my favorite. You're my favorite person of the day. This is my favorite question. Okay, so here, Sammy, let's listen to this first. Let's do some real basic stuff. Ask a few other people if they want it. I just talk about it like you're excited because you are excited about you got this idea for this product. Do other people have the same need and would they also be really excited to have a solution?
If.
Yes. Here's the test. The test. When you think about it, do you feel lighter and expanded or do you feel a little scared that it's not going to work? Which one? Because if it's scared that it's not going to work, don't do it. You're not ready. It doesn't mean that it's not a good product idea. It just means that you don't have the confidence to bet on that idea yet. And that's okay. But if you're like, I would really like to do that, go after that impulse, man. Like, please follow that impulse. Because real big brands didn't start because there was Internal data at helium10 that said it was a great product. I mean, right now I'm using a blue Yeti microphone, right? Here's my mic that's picking up my audio.
Huh?
There was no Amazon data that said. That's, that's the thing. That is going to sell a lot, right? But I bought it on Amazon. You see what I was a podcaster looking to buy a mic, and I wanted a good one, so I bought this one on Amazon. But no one at Helium 10 was like, you know, it's a really good market is microphones. No one was doing that. So if you are really pumped about it and you believe that it would make a meaningful difference in your life, and there are other people who say, yeah, I would like that, and you go, man, that's exciting when you think about it. Go. Follow that impulse, because now you're building a brand rather than just selling a product to make money. And those are the real entrepreneurs that make a splash in this world. Do that.
Hey, please don't pick up on people that just pick up product, please.
That's totally fine.
Listen, listen. Look, you. You've all watched Alex's Journey, right? I mean, you have seen Alex become this leader, this man who has a passion for life, who has the ability to travel, who has this ability to contribute to all these people. He would have never been able to do that if he didn't make money. Money is a great tool for you to be able to contribute to the rest of the world. What matters is that you have a mindset and an attitude of contributing and serving to a group of people. And if you have that, then you can make money in a bunch of different ways, or you can have a business that you see as your contribution and money shows up. Either one is okay. But money follows contribution and movement in the. In the direction of serving other people. Where you will screw up is if you just say, where's the pie that I can bring into my pocket? Because then you're always in this take mentality, and you will always play scared when you have that mentality. But if you've got the mindset of, I'm going to create a better life for myself, I'm going to create a better life for the people around me. I'm going to create a better life for my customers. I'm going to create good products. I'm going to be good to the people who follow me. You can be successful in nine different ways.
Yes.
There's.
A question from Sorin. He was. Well, he had a very similar question to what we kind of already covered.
If the next period changes anything about growing a brand.
Serene. The biggest thing that this changes is that there's a lot of people scared in the marketplace. That's the thing that has changed. There are a lot of entrepreneurs who are scared to start a business. There are a lot of entrepreneurs who are being pushed out of the marketplace because they haven't played this game well. They haven't spent two years giving to their customers. They've spent two years pulling money off the table for themselves, looking at how much money they can make. If you go into this next period with the opposite of that mentality, knowing that the result of this period is going to be even more people that need help, more people that need inspiration, more people who need a product specifically for them because they've only got enough money to buy one. If you go into the world with that mentality, then you're always going to win. Serene like, if you look at this as the opportunity for you to have less competition and a longer Runway so that you can carve your way to success, you're going to win. At the beginning of this call, we talked about how Amazon was the greatest opportunity in history. But it still doesn't matter. If you don't have the attitude of, I'm going to go all in on this, if you've got the attitude of I'm going to go all in on this, then it doesn't matter how big the opportunity is, you'll find a way. But when you've got the attitude of I'm going to go all in on this and I'm going to contribute to other people and it's the greatest opportunity ever, I mean, you just. I mean, there's just nothing that stops you. The deck is. It's like you're walking into a poker game with four aces. How do you lose? The only way you lose is if you don't play.
So that's the question. The question is not what's happening in the economy or what's happening with Coronavirus, because there are still companies who are winning. Amazon's still growing. There's still supplement companies who kill it. There's still all kinds of businesses that are growing right now. The question is, what's your mindset going into it? Can you look for the opportunity rather than the scarcity? Are you committed to being good to the people who do show up? If 10 people show up instead of a hundred people, are you pumped about the 10 rather than upset about the people who didn't buy? Because if you do that, it doesn't matter what is going on. The overall economy, you will go in and you will out serve out, create and out hustle everybody else because you can't do anything else, because you're so pumped about the momentum and the progress that you're experiencing. Go do that. Serene.
Florine has another question. This may sound like a cliche. I know that we need a solid recipe to succeed on Amazon. This would include subscribers, email lists, Facebook pages, et cetera, like likes. And how would you stand out in 2020 on Amazon for a new customer from a list of 40 products? Bear in mind that for customers, 80% of products look the same.
Okay, Serene, you're trying too hard. That's your problem. You don't have to have Facebook pages or influencers or 40 products or. Or email lists or podcasts or content. You don't have to do any of that stuff. You have to do something really well. Look.
There'S no Apple podcast. There's no Tim Cook. You know it.
I love it. I love it.
Yeah, please go ahead. There's no Quest Nutrition.
A gimmick.
There's good businesses. And a business knows who their customer is, develops products that they need, and knows enough about sales and marketing to get it out in front of the right people. If you do those first two things well, if you've got the goods and you know who it's for, your marketing can be and you'll still win. Have you ever looked at a really big business and said, how are they making all these sales with all this crappy marketing? I could do this so much better. It's because they've done the first two things well. They know what their give is to the world, what their contribution is toward, and they know who it's for. Those are the only things that matter. Then your Facebook page strategy, your content strategy, your launch strategy is all just ways to amplify the good work that you're already doing. But you don't need to complicate it with all these strategies. In order to be successful, you need to be in the mode of I'm going to do well by the people who are buying my stuff and do that on products you care about for people you care about. And you'll win with one product you won't need for.
We have another question. It's relatable to, let's say contribution. What you were saying before.
So I have seen JP's movie about water charity. I feel since that I want to contribute. I feel that is giving a better life for those people. Do you think it's okay to let customers that we are doing that through some methods or just keep it for me because I will do it anyway.
I need you to explain what that means. Is it okay for customers to.
So it Means.
Should Sammy message his customers telling them, this is what we're doing with part of the money that we're getting from you. We're helping poor people get water, or should he keep this for himself because he's doing this anyways?
Which one makes you feel good? That's your answer. Which one makes you feel like you are more contributing to the cause that you believe in? Do you feel that talking about it to your customers helps give more exposure to that charity? If so, talk about it. Does it make you feel a little bit icky, like you're trying to get something out of it? If so, don't do it. So which one makes you feel like you're making the biggest contribution? It might be as simple as an insert in the packaging saying.
We believe in backing charity water. This is a cause that we contribute to. If you'd like to make an additional contribution, go to this link. It might be that or it might be you keeping it to yourself. Or it might be, we make a donation of $1 to Charity Water for every purchase. Please go to this URL to confirm your purchase. Whatever makes you feel like you're making the greatest contribution, do that, because that's what you want anyway. So go follow that impulse.
I like that. I like that a lot.
Like it a lot, a lot, a lot. I like it.
Tell us, me and the rest of the gang.
For the initial steps. When you want to find that audience, where do you go? What do you do? You have your product, you have your brilliant idea, you want to improve it. You already talked with the suppliers. You're doing your thing now. You want to let people know, where do I go, Ryan? What do I do?
Yeah. So the easiest way that anybody can do is to document the development of the business in the first place. So even if it is simple, as I'm with this manufacturer right now looking at prototypes, or it is, my first prototype came in the mail. I'm really excited to test it out. Hey, here's why I went with this color instead of this color. That's the way that everybody can do it. Because let's say you're in the fitness space. If you're a meal and you're built like a meal, and you're like, I just got this supplement and I'm going to test it out. All the people who are a meals market are now tuning in, sharing that video, following along the journey, and all the people who are not just aren't paying attention anymore, which is great. So now he says, I liked this part of it, but I didn't like this. So I'm going to go redo the supplement. And then he comes back with a new version of it. And then he's on social media saying, man, I had a great workout today. I really like this version of the product. I'm really. I think I'm just going to go place an order. I'm really excited to get this out to the world. Hey, it showed up. Look at all this stuff that just showed up. It's available at Amazon launched.
That's how anybody can do it. Just talking about the journey and putting it up publicly for everyone to see. What's up, Alex?
I'll tell you the thing that comes up again. We're in Romania. We don't have American friends. We have a cousin that went to college in Boston, but besides that, we don't know anybody.
So.
So the people we talk to are in Romania. How do we get the word out to our buyers on the other side of the pond?
You can either partner with an influencer. And by an influence, I mean somebody who's got 10,000 followers, 10,000 people that they can impact. You can either create a partnership with them, which I love to do. You give them a small piece of the business and talking about it, I will give them up to 15% of the business, depending on how big their audience is, and that will vest over time. So it might be 5% a year for three years. So I would give them up to 15% of the company to have an influencer on my team. Or you can run ads to us based people that might or might not have your face on it. You can document the business without putting your face on it. Just as a company, we're developing this. Here's why. A great example of this is the company Elysium, or I think the company might call Basis. It's one of the. It's. The product is either Basis or Elysium or the other way around, but it's a supplement company that does NAD supplements. So I think. What's that? NAD is like a. Like a anti aging.
I see. Okay.
And Aubrey Marcus does injections of it, and this is just a supplement for it. And I think the company is called Elysium and the product is called Basis. And that's what, like, they documented things. Like, we're having this study done. We're having like, we're running this test. And that's how they've built a lot of their audience, a lot of their following. They've been around for a long time. Now, and so you don't have to have a face of the company. You could just document it as a company. But I think most people starting out should just do it themselves.
Yes.
Tell us what you are up to, Ryan. Can somebody.
Follow you on your journey, like step by step on what you're doing? Can they?
And they step on your shoe. On your. On your. How was. How was that expression? Like walking on yours? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Yes.
So. So, absolutely. The place where I document most publicly is on my YouTube channel. So you can just search my name and subscribe on YouTube. That's where I document. Like, here's what happened today. Here's what we're working on today. Here's what. Here's what happened this week. So I do that the most. And then where I share, like, the summaries of what I've learned, where you can take it or get into your business is on my podcast, which is@capitalism.com. or you can just search my name and find it.
And I'm all over social media. But, yeah, I pretty much share everything publicly.
Is this one of your.
Things to do more in 2020, putting yourself more out there? Or as I read in some of your emails, you're also trying to be more real and trying to feel like. Like. What I notice in this conversation is that you're using a lot of Hoodie words and.
Like.
All this stuff about feeling it and getting into the right I.
It.
I love it. I appreciate it a lot. And.
Tell us more about it. Like, what is your focus? Where do you see yourself in this puzzle?
Yeah. So.
I've taught Hoodie maybe four things about business, but Hoodie has taught me a lot about life.
And I used to think that they were separate, but now I know that they're the same. And what I've learned through seeing Hoodie's example, and also just Hootie being like the person who works on himself and staying up here while I catch up. What I've realized is that I'm much more powerful when I'm in the flow than when I am shooting arrows at the strategy. I used to think that I needed to know the strategy in order to inform my decisions to get the result. But now I know that the strategy is being in the flow where you feel most alive. And everyone else will say, how did he do that? Everyone else will say, oh, what he did was he launched a podcast, and then he had an event, and then he did a product launch. That's the formula. But the formula was really what feels good Right now. And if you can do that, if you practice that, like, what do I feel called to? What is calling me out? That's the sign of what is going to make you the most successful. Because we are all looking to be led. We are all looking for people who are lit up. We are all looking for people who are contributing to this world. And we all have a part of us that is tuned into that for ourselves and for the people around us. And the more that we bang that drum, the more that we focus on that, the more we call other people who want some of that to us, the more we have customers who come back to us over and over and over and over again. Not because of a strategy that you follow, but because of who you are and how you showed up in the world. Because you showed up in a way that resonated and called out a certain part of them that they want to be a part of, that they want to be real for themselves. So the better you feel, the more you call that feeling among other people, and they want to be a part of what you've got. And so it's one of those things where the rich get richer. Because the better you feel, the more you call people who want to feel good to you and they want to give you dollars so that you create more products for them that allow them to keep feeling good and the rich get richer.
That's how this works. And so what I hope is that my work serves as enough of a strategy to give you permission to go. But that Alex, through his Step up program, through me and my YouTube videos, and in my book, we're able to call out that part of you that is really free, that feels free from the need to get the million dollars, free from the need to impress other people, free to just contribute in the way that you feel you want to contribute. Because when you do that, you will get the million dollars. You will get the money and you will get the accolades, but you won't need them. And so you'll be in that place of constant contribution all of the time, and you will be. That's freedom. Freedom is for you to access that part of you and just let it flow all the time, regardless of what the results are. But because you're not attached to the results, you get the results, too. Hudi has taught that to me in the way of if you can dial into that place within me rather than being attached to the result out here, if I don't need the result in order for me to feel how I want to feel, then I'm actually free to go get the result. But if I'm in this place, if I need to go get the result and bring it to me, then I'm always in a state of lack. I'm always in a state of I've got to get that thing before I can feel how I want to feel. And Hoodie picked up on that from me the first couple times we met. But he also saw that I wanted something more. And so for all of you who are beginning this journey, gosh, you are so lucky to have a mentor like Alex who knows enough about the strategy and knows enough people to be able to bring you the tactics while he sits in the place of this is the life that we really want. A life of freedom, a life of contribution, a life of joy. And I know that when I'm in that place, everything else works itself out. Man, what an opportunity you have. So for me, my work right now is dialing into that place more and more and more and more and more and more and more in whatever form that shows up, knowing that it might show up in the step by step method to have a million dollar business, or it might step up as what I'm going through when I share it with my email list, or it might show up in me just sharing the journey on my podcast. But what I've realized is that the end game for me of getting the Cleveland Indians is only going to happen if I am tuned into that place. Because then I can create products that bless other people. Then I can create a message that brings the right people to me. That's when I'll get the Cleveland Indians. It will not come from me having the goal and me trying to figure out the goal and working like hell to get the goal. It will come from me enjoying the entire unfolding of the journey. And then someday along that journey, I will have enough money to buy the Indians and I will continue on my journey. Because the journey is not about going out and getting the million or the Indians or whatever it is that you want. It is about enjoying the unfolding of everything that we want and gathering more data about what it is that we do want so that we can continue to create until the day that we die.
That's what this journey is. And starting a business and getting your extra thousand dollars a month or $3,000 a month is all part of the unfolding. It is all part of the experience that you will have as a powerful creator in this world. And you are so lucky to be in this group. And Be led by a person who has figured that out and is willing to create the trainings and the opportunities to allow you to start to practice that.
Oh, my God.
I like you, too.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you for that. Yes, that was.
Am I learning?
Man, you. You are on top of your game. Really? I feel so good and so happy and seeing you talk like this, of course, I am humbled, and I appreciate a lot, and I thank you for the great. Nice words. But I'm also very excited to see this transformation in you and to see you feel it like it's yours. It's not like you read it somewhere or you heard me talk about it in the podcast. It's you that is this. And it's good.
Great.
Is it? Doesn't it feel good? Doesn't it feel good?
Yes.
That's it. That's it. That's it. It feels good. That's it.
That's all that matters.
That's it. Yeah.
You really have taught me a lot about that, just by being an example. And one of. One of the things that I've learned just recently is that I used to also think, how do I inspire other people? How do I. And I would be really curious. Like.
Somebody would say, man, you really inspired me. I'd say, what's the thing that I did?
What exactly.
Yeah, tell me exactly what I said. But the reality is, like, you're a perfect example of this. Alex, there's nothing that you have said to me that I remember as being the moment. You were just a mirror to me of my own insecurities, my own joys, my own hopes, my own desires. You were simply a mirror to me at a time when certain things needed to be illuminated, needed to be seen. And seeing some of them in you reflected back to me gave me a guiding light of, oh, I do operate from this place of need, and I don't even know it. I do want more freedom and access to purpose and the things that make me feel alive. And so you didn't have to do anything. You just had to be you. And it's made me realize that I don't have to do anything. I just have to be me. And that is the truth with all of us.
All. If you want success in business, if you want the accolades, if you want the lovers, all you have to do is be you. Without all the layers and all of the things that you think that you need to do to get the result. Dial it back into who you really are, and you will attract all of the things that contribute to the goals that you want. And Hoodie has taught me that not by anything that he did, but just who he was. And so you don't need to reverse engineer the strategy or the formula, but those can be helpful guides when you dial into who you are. And now you're on a path of your evolution. So, Hudie, thank you for the contribution you've made to my life without doing anything.
Just that makes it even better, you know, like I don't, because I don't like to do much things, you know, like if it works out, if it works out like that, it's perfect. So I can live my life and people get inspired by it. It's amazing.
Right? Well, thank you again. Thank you again. That was very kind and precious and I loved it. And I hope people have found some inspiration in your words and your guidance and also the strategies that you talked about, because.
I feel they are important too. They get in our head and then when we act, we act and we know what to choose. So thank you for that too. We're getting very close to the finale, so can you share with us where people can buy this book? And before they buy it, can you tell us what it's about?
Yeah. So the book is called 12 months to 1 million. It is the examples, the step by step case studies, and the exact strategy to building a million dollar business in 12 months or less. It's about choosing those four products. They get to 25 sales a day at a $30 price point and doing it really, really quickly. If you follow the strategy, you get the result. But if you're not dialed into who you are, you won't follow the strategy. So this is that in the book too? Yes, yes, you'll enjoy it. So you should buy the book because one of two things is going to happen. One, you're going to discover the exact strategy that you were looking for to have a million dollar business. Or two, you're gonna have a mirror reflected back to you that you're not being true to who you are. And either one of those is a million dollar lesson. So the book's called 12 Months to 1 Million. You can either pre order it on Amazon or you can wait for the audible version. So I know there's some issues right now with Amazon fulfilling things. So if you wanna wait for the audible version, it'll be out soon too. But it's called 12 months of 1 million and you can get it on Amazon.
12 months to 1 million.
Yes, sir.
Search it in Amazon, click Okay. Click on the first one that pops up with the12.1 million on the COVID thing and then you pre order it because it's not available yet. It will be available in May.
Right.
And.
Anything else, what to do? What can. Where can people find you? You already mentioned maybe we can say now where they can connect with you.
Yes, do this. I really enjoyed this chat. So if you're in Hoodie's group, please shoot me a DM on Instagram. I would just love to say thank you and say, hey, I mean, Hoodie's event is outstanding. His group is outstanding. I love the people that I meet that are doing this, especially in Romania. So I'm ryandaniel Moran on Instagram. Just follow me, shoot me a dm. And I'd love to just see what you're up to and follow along on your journey. So that'd probably be the fastest way for us to connect.
Beautiful, beautiful. Thank you very much, sir. Thank you very much, Ryan. Thank you very much, hermano.
So, guys, thank you for joining us. Even if you're watching this as a recording, you can still post, like, good things about this or bad things. If you didn't like it, hit the like button.
