Four ways to dry curly hair: turban, air-drying, plopping, and diffusing. Diffusing adds volume but shortens curl longevity. Use low heat, plop only briefly, then air-dry for best results.

The hair turban, ideally wash it before use. But also I air dry my hair a lot. I don't tend to diffuse it. It tends to make my hair big and voluminous, which is great, but it's great for a night out. It doesn't last as long. So the options you have are to plop, which is placing on the hair towel while your hair is wet. I plop for as long as it takes me to do my makeup, get dressed and get out the house and then I air dry. If you are going to diffuse, what you need to do is to be using a low heat and a low blow heat will damage your curls and your hair. So ideally air dry, halfway diffuse and let the rest dry. Some people plop overnight and that works for some people. That doesn't work for me. That creates quite a lot of frizz. But there's a few options there to try.
