Learn how to diffuse curly or wavy hair without frizz. Use low heat and airflow, position the diffuser with the grain, and dry in stages: roots and mid-lengths first, then ends. Skip excessive scrunching and hand manipulation, and move the diffuser downward for root volume.
Hi. Just a bit more about diffusing.
So the do's and don'ts really. So low heat, low blow.
Don't use your hands. Put the diffuser in the direction of
your hair, not blowing it up against the grain.
Don't do the ends till the end.
You're drying the roots and mids and then the ends at the very last. Try and refrain from shooshing, which we all know and love. That does result in frizz. But if you like the volume like I do on a night out, then shh away. But really leave that to occasions because your hair day won't last as long.
Don't stay upright, so make sure you're
moving around and down so you get some root volume. Because if you diffuse like this, you're gonna. It's gonna be a lot flatter than you hoped for.
It's really hard to not use your
hands, so just try and be mindful of that when you're doing it. You're trying to emulate the air drying. So if you're aiming for a gel cast or anything else, you will still get the same result, but you're going to get more defined, longer lasting curls from the hover drying, diffusing in the video. So just those things.
Oh, and no scrunching.
Try and refrain from scrunching unless you're a wavy and you're reapplying more stylet when your hair is almost dry. So you're applying more stylet or clasting queen and then you're sort of pulsing so you're not doing this scrunching. You'll be doing cupping scrunching just to help hold those curls. So that's the only other thing to that rule there. So, yeah, give it a go. Let us know your thoughts and move on to the diffusing video.
