Protein, Treat It, Squish to Condish

A full curl-care routine starting with a gelatin protein treatment (three teaspoons dissolved in water, left on 30-45 minutes), followed by deep conditioning for at least 30 minutes. Then the squish-to-condish technique: press palms together to squish water into wet hair, keeping fingers together to clump curls and add silkiness.

Hi. So I'm just about to do the gelatin treatment. So three teaspoons in water left for 10 to 15 minutes and then heated with the boiling water. It's now cooled because I put it in the fridge. Please check the temperature before you use it. But I'm just going to put it all over my hair that really needs it. My hair towel ready to. It. It's going to pop this on. I'm going to leave that on for about half an hour so I'll come back to show you how I'm going to wash it out followed by deep treatment. So I've left this on for a bit LONGER probably about 45 minutes. I'm going to wash it off and follow it with a deep treatment. So our treat it is mixed with co wash as you saw just before now and pop that on my hair. Once I've rinsed the gelatin out. The protein treatment does take slightly warmer water to remove so I'll be using warmer water were to wash it out and then popping the treat it on. Take some of the extra water out. Pop the hair turbine back on. Now going to leave this on for at least 30 minutes. Just about to wash off the treat it it's important that you wash this out entirely. Even with my scalp which is a bit dry, it does tend to become oily if you leave any residue in. So I just thought I'd note that. And also I'll be using this just to make sure it's your scalp massager. Just to make sure that I'm getting it out properly. I thought I'd do a video on squish to condish so I'll take you through that. I know I've written some instructions in the files and albums but this might help to see it. What you want to do to squish to condish once you've got your conditioning product in your hair is to use water. So you need to either I've got a small bowl here, grab a small bowl or just run the tap. You want to grab a good handful of water and squish. Can you hear that? Squish that. Into your hair. So I'm not using open fingers and I'm not just scrunching. I'm keeping my palms together and squishing the moisture in. Palms together, fingers together. And don't forget the back. It. Your hair start to feel really silky. The curl clumps will come together. Ironically this can create some frizz so I tend to squish to condish before I detangle. It's up to you how long you keep going, how much time you have. But you'll feel the difference in your hair. Your hair starts to become silky. So there you have it. Squish, stick and dish. Now I'm going to plop for 10 to 15 minutes and then air dry.
