A healthcare practitioner explains the Certified Patient Centered Practitioner Program, a new certification for chiropractors and other healthcare providers. The program teaches patient-centered care and communication skills through structured phases designed to shift how practitioners approach their work.
Now, if you've been looking forward to working me for a while and you've been waiting for the doors to open, that is coming in seven days time, I will be opening up the brand new patient centered tribe. This is the way that you can access absolutely everything I have to offer. Every course, every bit of support, every resource. I'm putting it together all in one place for the first time. And I'm really, really looking forward to sharing this with you because I'm making it accessible to everybody. In fact, on Tuesday next week, I will share with you how you can get involved for less than the cost of one single treatment. So more info on that coming very soon. But before we do, I wanted to share with you the part I am most excited about. This is why this has taken me 18 months to put together because I really, really wanted to get this right. I put my heart and soul into what I do. I don't just create courses to generate some passive income or to put myself out there as an expert. I. I really want to make meaningful change for the people that I work with. And because of that, I have a bit of a perfectionist mindset and I don't want to release something half done. However, I've been working at this and I've been sharing it with members of my inner circle. I've been putting it together and it's almost ready to go. And that's this guy. The Certified Patient Centered Practitioner Program. There is nothing out there like this certification program. This is for you if you want to demonstrate to your patients why you are head and shoulders above anyone else they might see in the area why you are different to any other healthcare practitioner they've worked with. If you want to demonstrate to your community why they should come and see you, what makes your practice different, why they can trust you and put their health in your hands and not worry about you being like all the others there. Also how you can demonstrate to yourself that you are the kind of motivated, dedicated practitioner who puts their patients first, who is genuinely patient centered and isn't just saying that as a buzzword. And one of the reasons why I'm so excited for this is because this is something that means a lot to me. This term patient centered has been just turned into a buzzword. It's been used and abused and now everybody is patient centered. Everybody says they're patient centered. And in my experience, a good chunk of them don't fully grasp what that means. I'd shared recently a video about the Dunning Kruger effect. Basically, it's the tendency for people who know a little bit about something to get really overconfident and think they know a lot. We've all seen that on social media. But in my experience, that happens with being patient centered. It happened to me and I've seen it happen to many colleagues as well. And this is the idea that we think that being patient centered is about being nice to our patients, you know, kind of respecting them, not taking advantage and not being money focused. We think that, well, it's the opposite of Dr. Centered. People who are all about the cash. Now, obviously being all about the cash is not patient centered. So you're kind of right. But there's a lot more to it than that. There's many more things that I've had to take years to go and learn from outside of chiropractic to master and own myself before I could start teaching them. And this certification program is to ensure that if you say you are patient centered, you can actually back it up. You can demonstrate you are, that you've proven that through a program that is not just about watching some videos and answering a quiz. So this is not the kind of, oh yeah, watch, watch, watch, click, click, click, A, B, D, E. You know, passing a multiple choice test. This is about creating meaningful change that actually lasts, that is actually going to allow you to better care for your patients and enjoy practice more than anything before. So it had to be meaningful, it had to be accessible. So I'm going to break down for you in this video how this certification works, give you the broad ideas, and it's broken down into three phases. The first phase is essentially going through the content, making sure you have all the skills. So it's going through the happy patient project, going through the entire patient journey from what your headspace is before they walk in, to when they meet you for the first time, to how you greet them, take them through the history, the exam, delivering an ethical and effective report of findings that's all geared around their wants, their desires, their needs, and then helping them get through that plan, helping them, you know, get the best out of your care, going on to deliver great reviews, you know, making sure they get where they want to go and where relevant, talking about maintenance care as well. And it's informed by the latest research that many practitioners haven't actually seen that's come out the Nordic Maintenance team. Not just oh yes, they found maintenance worked, but who it works for, why it works, how we can identify that. And it's also going through the social styles model for chiropractors this is a course about how to tailor your communication to each patient in front of you. Do they need you to be formal, professional, blunt, to the point? Do they need you to be excited, enthusiastic? They need you to break down the details and show them the key parts of the plan. What version of you do you need and how do you adapt to them? So phase one, and this is all included in the patient centered tribe. Phase one is you're going through those and you're basically filling out some work as you go to show you've put this into practice. So by the end of phase one, you know that, okay, you're familiar with all the skills. Then there's phase two. Phase two is some reflective self assessments to show that not only can you do them, but you are able to spot how well you're doing and you're able to reflect on that and critically grow. This actually does not take much time. Once you've gone through phase one, you've done over 50% of the work already. So phase two is you're going to record some of your interactions with patients. I'll show you how to do that. There's one simple sentence that works 95% of the time. It's so easy. But you record, you listen back with certain resources and checklists and you can see very quickly how to identify how well you did, where you need to improve. So that will help you make sure you've gone from understanding the knowledge and having tried it out to actually mastering these skills and becoming really competent with the them. Then there's the final stage, and this is optional, but this is how you finally become a certified patient centered practitioner. This is an assessment. You will actually record a report of findings and you will send that to me and I will assess it and give you feedback. And if you pass that assessment, congratulations, you will be one of the first certified patient centered practitioners that there are. Because it's brand new, you can really be the first and be part of a growing elite tribe of practitioners. So that's how it works. Now, in terms of how you can go about that, there will be a couple of options because I'm aware that many people who watch this are new graduates, fairly recent in practice. Many of you ever own your own practice, have been in practice for longer than I have. So we need to customize that because not all of you need the same thing. So there'll be two ways you can go about this. There is the self paced option where you can just go through the content at your pace. Take as Long as you need. I anticipate most people doing this, and this would be what I'd recommend for anyone who's been out in practice for, you know, least less than three years, is that this will likely take you probably nine, maybe up to 12 months. It may be a bit quicker if you're very fast paced. But it's not just about going through and watching some videos. It's not nine months of watching videos. I promise you you can get through the content fairly quickly, but actually making sure you've put it into practice, you've ticked off the skills, you've reflected on it and that you are able to deliver it well. Most people around 9 to 12 months, this is what I mean. It's meaningful. We've got to create lasting change. However, if you have been in practice for a while and you're actually already familiar with a bunch of these skills and you don't necessarily need to go through every single step, there will be a fast track option. I will share more information with you soon. But this is where we will go through a group together. We'll go through it at fairly fast pace. You will get through this in under six months. So if you think, okay, I don't want necessarily go through all the individual parts, I don't need all of that. There will be that fast track option and it's where you customize it to you. As long as you can demonstrate that you know and you've put the skills into practice, then you don't necessarily have to go through as much detail. So depending on what you need, depending on what parts you're familiar with, what parts you're not, you can customize that to your own practice. So that's what I've been putting together. That's why it's taken so long, because it's important to me that we got the structure right. It's important to me that we actually got the assessments right, that we got the ability to reflect right and that it wasn't just something where you go, oh yeah, I did that course and I got certificate or I answered a few open book, multiple choice questions and I got that certificate. This will, by getting this you can demonstrate you've actually owned these skills. So I'm not interested in sharing this badge and using this just to sell courses. I'm not interested in putting this out there to grow this massive, massive group of certified practitioners. And I'm also not interested in using this to get people to recertify, to make money. I'm not like certain certifications out there. I'm talking about art, where you have to spend a decent bit of money every year to maintain your status. As far as I'm concerned, once you're certified, you are certified. There will be options where you could refresh that in the future if you would like to, but it will never be mandatory. And also when you join the tribe, when you get certified, there will be a massive, massive discount. So you can save a huge amount of money by getting certified because once you're there, you're part of that tribe, you are certified. You're the kind of practitioner that we need more of in chiropractic and frankly, in society in general. So that's what I'm talking about. That's why I've taken so long to get this right. That's what you could be a part of if you want to. And like I said, you can get started for very, very little investment. I'll share more with you in seven days for that. And I'll also be showing the how you can do the fast track option if you would like to as well. That'll be launching a couple of weeks after. But if you think, yep, I just want to get in and get started and get going and I don't need to go through all the skills there. The fast track will be the option for you as well. So any questions on this in the meantime? There'll be many much more info coming out soon, but by all means, shoot me an email. Otherwise I look forward to sharing more with you very, very soon and welcome you into this growing tribe of practitioners. I'm really excited for this and I hope you are too. Take care.
