This is a little creepy and a little weird. Maryland high school athletic director is facing criminal charges after police say he used artificial intelligence to duplicate the voice of the principal of his school, leading the community to believe that the principal was a racist and antisemitic.
It just points to the power of AI. I'll tell you a little something we use with AI. I had to record a video for the introduction of Profit First, the app, the Profit First app. By the way, it's available now. Go to profitfirstapp.com. And the idea is the book is a starting point, but many people read the book and then put it on the shelf. The app is a guide to go through it, and it will connect you to the Profit First Professional to take it even further. I'm recording the introduction video to it, and as I leave for Europe for this European trip, Billy Anne comes back and says, "Oh, we updated the technology. We gotta redo the video, but it has to release while you're in Europe." I'm like, "There's no recording studio here. I don't have the gear. Can we use AI?" And then that became the idea. The introduction video of me, the first 10 seconds is the original video. Then it cuts to a screenshot and you hear me talking about it. It's not me, it's AI. Wow. They took my voice, emulated it, and I can't distinguish it. Sounds like me. This tool can be used for good, it can be used for bad. And what that simply means is we gotta be highly skeptical and have multiple points of verification. Maybe we can do a whole thing on security one day. I told my mom, if you hear me calling you on the phone, say, Mom, I need $10,000. Let's meet face to face also, and then have my sister call you, and let's all three of us talk about it before it happens, because it could be a scam coming about, right? This is a good cautionary tale that don't trust a single source. We're seeing this in politics. People are faking things and all this stuff, you've got to get multiple perspectives, triangulate, if you will, to get to the truth. And that responsibility is on the consumer. We have to do that now. It's sad, but it's true.
