I'd gone in in December and they had cleaned up the lines to make it a nice even circle for that patch when it was ready. That was also when they had biopsied my good cartilage and sent it to the lab. Then it was about, I believe, 6 or 8 weeks later, 8 weeks later that I had gotten that next procedure, the more major procedure. They had flipped my kneecap over kind of 90 degrees perpendicular with the rest of my leg. And I actually have a picture that the surgeon showed me when I came out of surgery. He said, this your knee. This is what we just did. And, um, it was right underneath my patella, and there was the big hole there, about 2 centimeters, and it was— it looked translucent.
