Jesse Pearson and Jude Worthen of JP the Geek explain how they hired an SDR and marketer, built a pipeline beyond referrals, and let Jesse move into CEO role instead of doing sales and technical work himself.
I'm Jesse Pearson with JP the Geek. We're based out of Greenwood, Indiana.
I am Jude Worthen with JP the Geek. I am our SDR.
We joined Seven Figure in August of 2023. We are elite members, obviously, and we are trailblazers in the business Mastery and the Leads Mastery. From my perspective, Leads Mastery has removed a lot of the unknown and the training that I don't know how to do for my SDR and my marketing team. So they've taken a lot of the uncomfortable and are making it comfortable for me and for my team and removed me from a lot of that, which has been, I think the best part is that I don't. I know that I have team there and they're kind of like the back part of our team.
Right.
And Lindsay can teach and train my team on what they need to be doing for these things, which is fantastic. Yeah. And what about you? How has it helped you along. Along your path?
Sure, that's a great question. For me, it's. It's been. I came into this industry, been in sales for several years. Came into this industry brand new. It's been an eye opener for me. It's been a great resource, you know, to report, not just to report numbers for accountability, but just to bounce ideas off of the other members in Leads Mastery to. To hear some of their challenges, to really kind of get to know, you know. Cause I had nothing really to benchmark off because like I said, you know, to the industry. So for me it's really just like, hey, are we on the right track? And then figuring out ways to jump over hurdles. And Lindsey is fantastic with that. So, yeah, just kind of that camaraderie piece is what I really love about it. And just knowing we're going in the right direction.
Known Chris since 2018 or 2019. And we kind of joined back then and then left and then we knew we'd be back. And so here we are. We were at a place where I had hired a salesperson and we didn't know what to do. We were a mess. I didn't know how to train a salesperson. I didn't know what to do with sales or marketing. We just grew consistently by referrals and I didn't have any idea what to do and I needed help. So he had the right people in the right places and the right infrastructure and the right training. That was exactly what we needed. And it's. And it's been successful. Yeah. So we now have our. We have a pipeline that we're building and working on and filling. We've never had that before. It's always just been the random, hey, I heard of you from so and so can we meet? We've never had marketing. We've never had somebody dialing. We've never really had somebody going out to events and creating events and doing these things. We've just been along for the ride, and now we're starting to drive the ship. So. So I've been shifting into the CEO role for a little over a year now. I'm really pulling myself out of things, so I've completely pulled myself out of the technical work. If I do technical work, it is a weird, random thing. And now that we have a marketing person and an SDR and I'm slowly pulling myself out of the sales as well, which has been fantastic. So I can really focus on the growth of the business and the direction and the vision and all of the things that really matter that have just been things that happened or most of the time just didn't happen. Like I tell everybody, if you're. If you're ready to do it, if you're going to put in the effort, then it's fantastic, do it. But if you're not, then don't.
