Charles Hudson argues you should test AI tools yourself instead of trusting headlines or one bad experience. He warns against two traps: becoming cynical after a hallucination or panicking over hype. Many tools already work well enough to matter, though they still need human oversight.

Samir is playing with a lot of AI tools directly himself. And I just. I think everybody should be doing this because otherwise one of two things can happen. You can become overly cynical because you use ChatGPT once and it hallucinated and you're like, none of this stuff works. Or you just read the headlines and you're like, oh, AI is perfect and beautiful and magical and I'm not going to have a job in a while. And I think the answer is most of this stuff works well enough for you to see that it's going to be a big deal in the future, but a lot of it still requires supervision.
