Why Men Shouldn't Be Driven by Emotions: Timeless Life Lessons

Man, you know, you said a few things that, that touched base with me. The one thing you just said, like, because I remember my old man, and that, that always stuck with me. I was arguing with one of my kids' mothers on the phone one day, and he heard me. He was standing at the door inside the house. He said, hey man, he said, look here, he say, why you sitting up there arguing with that woman? He say, women are emotional, you know what I'm saying? He like, men don't get moved but we shouldn't be moved by emotions, you know. And that always stuck with me. Yeah, I was like 20 years old at the time, you know.

But that's a gift, because if you think about it, if you're like, well, what if she's right, man? She don't know what the hell she talking about. But what if she's right? It's not that she's right, it's an exercise for you to sit back and think, if I am like that, how do I be a better man today than I was yesterday? How can I get— and if you, you, you have the solution, even though that solution doesn't, you know, apply to what's going on in that moment, but now you got a solution to put in your pocket for later. And all these things are in the back of your head.
