Dog trainer AJ Vargas shows how a right turn can snap a drifting dog back into focus during heeling. Watch for early signs of distraction, then use the turn as a directional correction to reinforce the dog's attention and keep it on path.

Right, my right turns. I usually like to use my right turn, especially if I see the dog starting to get distracted and looking that way. But again, hey, we're going this way, right? So use your turns as— call it a correction with the direction, right? I use my turns to get that attention back on me, right? So that dog's focused over there. As soon as I see him starting to deviate away, I'm gonna— but again, and bring that attention back on me. Big love.
