Dog trainers share what they wish owners knew: dogs will develop bad habits without training, ownership is harder than raising kids, and every dog can bite. Size doesn't matter. Training is non-negotiable.

What's one thing you wish everyone knew about owning a dog?
Uh, that they're capable of learning, and if you don't teach them, they'll just teach themselves.
It's harder than having your own kid.
All dogs bite, and every dog actually has a purpose, and certain dogs should not be pets.
No matter the size, all dogs need training.
Okay, what's the one thing everyone should know about having a dog? Healey said they're harder than kids.
They are, they are. I have kids, they're harder than kids. Uh, but those have already been used.
Um, one thing that everybody should know about owning a dog is they need love too.
